Ha! And now it's snowing here! Big fat flakes that are coming down so hard you almost can't see the red color of my husband's truck already. Be careful what you ask for... right? We got a dusting overnight. And of course I had to got to grocery store yesterday to get milk for my mom. People had lost their minds... I had planned on running into our Walmart Neighborhood Market, but some idiot had called in a bomb threat and nobody was allowed in. So off to Publix I went- nightmare. Winters in the South- hate them because of dumba**es.

georgiabeachbum, how fun that your parents are in Hickory!!! Yes, very unusual that we got 8". It's the most we have seen here since we moved here 4 1/2 years ago. It's going to be here for a while as temps don't get above freezing until Tuesday I think. Oh dear!

I have been up since 4:30 a.m. Couldn't go back to sleep after seeing the gorgeous snow. It's still coming down. These photos were taken around 5 a.m. Can't wait until the sun is up so I can get lots snow photos but I am not looking forward to shoveling that deck! Let's see your snow photos. Added a few after the sun came up. I put the yardstick around the yard in 3 different places in non-drifting snow, and that's what we got. I can't figure out this picture! Lol. Why is that wall of snow there?

I'm in SE Virginia and we ended up with 10.5 inches. I took my pictures and now I'm ready for it to be gone.

Why is that wall of snow there? LOL! I suppose that does look funny. Anyway, we also have a screened-in porch. I opened the screen door, and that was creating the wall. Hope that makes sense now.

It's going to be here for a while as temps don't get above freezing until Tuesday I think. Oh dear! In upstate SC, we are projected to be almost 70 degrees on Wednesday. Lol. Our usual two-three days of "winter." I'm in SE Virginia and we ended up with 10.5 inches. I lived there in the late 80s and we got almost 12 inches one year. It was magical for a day or so.

Wow that's a lot of snow! Yes, they are officially saying we got 9". The most this area has seen in 10-15 years! And Spongemom Scrappants, I think we will be 65 by the end of the week. Yup typical for the Carolinas. I used to love getting a dusting of snow when we lived in Columbia. This has been a whole new experience for me. I hope it melts quickly because while it's beautiful, I don't like it to hang around.

This is a funny blog post about how southerners do snow. And it's pretty much spot on! LINK

I'm east of Atlanta and we experienced #noshowsnow 2017. The worst part was trying to watch tv on Friday night and at 9:00 the news cut in to talk about the snow/winter weather/freezing rain. Two hours they went on and in and on. Good grief people! Then the 11:00 news was on and guess what they talked about?!? It's like they've never seen a snowflake before! We can be prepared for a little bit but the hype it receives is ridiculous!

I love looking at these pics of beautiful snow falls. I've never been in snow like that so I'm jealous. Enjoy!
