We were projected for a possible 2-4 inches... and got a big fat zero. We're right below the belt of upstate SC that did get snow.
Enjoy. I'm sorta jealous. I like one pretty snow each year (then I'm done -- bring back my summer!).

I'm in Atlanta and for the most part we missed out on the snow. We have ice, but it doesn't look too bad where I am and the roads here seem fine. I was up early anticipating a gorgeous winter landscape. Enjoy your touch of winter.

Ha! And now it's snowing here! Big fat flakes that are coming down so hard you almost can't see the red color of my husband's truck already. Be careful what you ask for... right?

We are in NE GA and were supposed to get the 2-4 in and barely got a dusting. It started raining around 7. Around 9 there was some sleet mixed in. It stayed that way. By 12am, still rain. Woke up at 6:30 and it was snowing but nothing major and I knew it was on it's way out anyways. Oh well. The models early in the day had it coming right at us and then it shifted. It happens.

It is still coming down heavily. My son had to go to work this morning and he has about an hour drive. I grew up in the north so I know it takes getting up early and doing some prep before driving off in this weather. He has no sense at all. I dressed in layers, grabbed a broom and dust pan and went out to clean his car off. He came out in tennis shoes and a jacket like he was ready to go. I said, "You need your boots, winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves, an overnight bag because you need to stay there tonight." I go about making him a bag of snacks, blanket, you know the drill. He comes out in some suede Vans high top shoes. "These are boots," he says. Um no. He thinks his boots are buried in his trunk. I say, "You take your time, there is no rush. Remember what happened to my car when I was trying to get to work?" He loves his car so I know that sunk in.

Our 4" looks more like a dusting of snow and a lot of ice unfortunately.

Just a inch or so here in Ohio where I am but it is the bitter cold ...I know we need it to help on the bugs in the spring...and we do need a bit of the white stuff...my bones do not care for it all though?
Like all your pictures ladies...the white stuff is beautiful and I do like getting out there when there is a good snow cover...keep warm...hugs

We were supposed to get up to 3 inches. We got ice instead. Our local emergency services have asked that citizens stay off the road until it warms up this afternoon.
DD is a little disappointed. She had already picked out what her snowman was going to wear if there was enough snow to build one.

Patter, where are you? I'm in south Charlotte and so far we have just a light layer on the ground and some gentle snowfall right now.

I was at one time in the "bubble" in north metro Atlanta expecting 4-6 inches of snow.
The snow was a bust for me (barely a dusting) but the ice is an issue.
People are flipping out over the forecast, being hostile that we didn't get the snow that was forecast. I'd much rather be prepared (and I was prepared, and I am prepared to lose power due to icing) and have it be a non-event vs. not being prepared and being in trouble.
But people are nuts.

Patter , where are you? I'm in south Charlotte and so far we have just a light layer on the ground and some gentle snowfall right now. I am on Lake Hickory about a mile from Alexander county (so way north Catawba county). We watch WBTV, and we saw that Charlotte really missed out for the most part but the ice y'all got isn't good. Tonight through Monday are supposed to be really bad because of the ice on the roads that will happen everywhere. And sorry for y'all that didn't get what was expected. We were told 4-8 inches, and looks like we got the 8". It's unusual that we got what they said. Also, I added a few daytime photos. I have taken zillions though. LOL!

It turns both of mine into fools. Unless it is too deep and we lose a corgi. Last year we had about 22 inches and he'd never seen that before. That was fun watching him look for a place to pee. I took mercy on him and shoveled a nice long path so he would have a few choices.

My parents live in Hickory and sent me this at 9:20 am and said it was still snowing. Very unusual to get this much.
