Lots of push back around here towards the "BEST DAY EVER" and "HAPPY" lines lately. I don't know how to get a closer look at the Simple Stories collection &/or Sn@p cards, but take a look at the sayings on some of the cards in this PL book featured on their blog today: "I can't even..." "How about NO..." "I can't adult today..." Still lots of pink, but some other colours too, and you gotta love the phrases... Or maybe you don't. #Whatever!

It's all wonderful other than the pink...the pink just kills it for me. The 'I can't adult today' is actually something I say periodically...especially when my kids are giving me an exceptionally hard time or everything is going wrong (like back to back explosive diapers or all of the kids throwing up as examples) but I won't use the pink elements. Enough with the pink. This line is so close...yet, so far!

Oooh, but if you've been looking at Gossamer Blue, they've been doing cards like this in their Life Pages kit for the past few months (including some with 4 letter words I wouldn't scrapbook with...hell is okay, but there was one a few months back that had 'shit' on it and that's just too explicit for what I want in my memory keeping...it'll still make a good mat for a photo or something, though). They have pink, too...but it's not ALL pink...the funny quotes are generally multi colored text with a letter here and there that's pink or the faux mixed media (like watercolor) is multiple colors. I can suck it up and use those bits of pink because it's not JUST pink, but I'd rather do without. They did a survey this month to subscribers asking what they'd like to see changed. My response was less feminine and pink and more neutral. Their best kits every year are their Autumnal ones because they are seasonally appropriate, neutral in terms of a usable color palette (not overly feminine) and so easy to use...I want that year round!!

I like it! Yes, there's some pink, but for me, the black and orange tone it down and it just looks fresh and vibrant, not overly girly. TFS!

This just gave me an epiphany why I have so much travel, Halloween, Autumn and Christmas in my stash - no PINK!! And, conversely why I generally don't like or buy Valentines, Easter, or spring lines/collections - too much pink (and pastel purple). I never could put my finger on why I disliked scrapbooking spring/Easter photos. Now I know why!

I appreciate that there is a willingness in the industry to give us products we can use. But I don't need overly negative comments any more than I need overly positive comments. I don't take pictures that use Whatever or anything about Adulting.

BTW I love your new avatar!

I don't take pictures that use Whatever or anything about Adulting. I think a lot of these will work well for certain personalities. I know that sometimes with smaller kids, it's you either laugh or you cry (it probably works with older kids, too...I just don't have those, yet) and being that I'm a complete and total smart ass, some of the sarcasm is perfect for my life. I love the idea of 'if whatever you want me to do requires me to wear pants, then it's not happening' type sentiments because sometimes you aren't wanting to face the day, it might not be the worst day ever, but it's certainly not the best, either. I struggle with putting my sarcasm in writing because I tend to journal fact based, 'we did this on this day' so having some sarcasm built into some options are nice. But let me ask you this...if you don't like the idea best day ever and also don't care for worst day ever type things, what types of things in the middle would you like to see? I'm really curious here, not being snarky at all. I think things like 'this was fun,' 'daily routine,' 'another ordinary day,' etc are pretty well represented right alongside 'best day ever' type things so I think I'm having a hard time picturing what you're hoping for.

I'm not hoping for anything in particular. I was more responding to the view that overly positive like Best Day wasn't always useful, and overly negative wouldn't be useful for me. As you said, the type I like are represented, but I need/use things that are less definitive - like I might use Best Day Ever for a special event here and there, but I would use A Good Day, Hanging Out, Just Having Fun, Hard Work, The Living is Easy, Good Times, This is Good, This is Nice, I Like It, ... As you said, already represented. But that's what I am most likely to use.

I love this line. Whatever was my go to line in my teen years. My family loves to remind me. It will be great to scrap it.

I like these. I don't have kids so some of the cards would work well for my pages. Glad to see at least one company is offering options.

I bought that line on the strength of the sentiments and have used it twice already for layouts with my 16 yo DS!
