We are putting away the Christmas decorations. DH gave me the Willow Tree Nativity set and put out the stable animals as a surprise. I have no idea how to put them back in the styrofoam packaging and DH can't remember how they were situated. Can anyone take a picture for me to give me some guidance? Thank you!
Update: we solved the puzzle and packed them up. I hate when there are empty spaces in packing!

I don't have a photo for guidance, but just wanted to say you are a very lucky lady. I have only two pieces of Willow Tree and I love them both. My favorite is one of a mother and son given to me by one of my girlfriends for my birthday. Some day, I aspire to get the Nativity as well.

It's been on my wish list for several years now and I had resigned myself to buying a piece each year because I was tired of waiting for him to buy it. Well, he surprised me and talked to our two now adult kids. DH bought me theee of the sets and built a stable, eldest DD and DS then each gave me a piece. I am very grateful.

I've had my WT set for only a few years (3 or 4?). After the first year of working the "put it away" puzzle, I took photos before unpacking each box and printed them. I keep the photo in the box with each set. I also had to get one of the ginormous Rubbermaid bins to store it in to keep it all together. I also took photos on how it fits in the Rubbermaid. I love that set. I sure you will enjoy it for many years to come.

I solve the problem by leaving the entire set out on top of my piano all year long.

I didn't read the whole thread because you had solved it by that time, but for my village I wrote in sharpie on the Styrofoam what went where. No more guessing.

This is tops on my list of things I want, but don't need. I got the nativity for Christmas one year from the inlaws and just kept adding each year until I had it all. I got the creche on a lightning deal before Christmas for less than $60.

I solve the problem by leaving the entire set out on top of my piano all year long. Good idea. I do leave my olive wood Nativity out year round on the piano. Once I get the shelves in my living room painted, I could put this one on the shelves, except the stable DH built is pretty tall. The family would be nice to keep out year round.

I believe I will enjoy the set, especially having waited years for it.

This is tops on my list of things I want, but don't need. DH said Amazon had a great sale. It was cheaper to get the small sets than to buy it in one big set. Which worked well for the older kids to be able to buy the cheaper pieces. I was ready to buy a small set each year until it was complete.

Thank you all for actually posting either a helpful reply or an actual picture of how to pack the nativity set.

So nice of your hubby! My mum has the willow tree nativity set. I’ve been wanting to collect one of my own for a long time.

I love my WT Nativity and started collecting 10+ years ago. When I get the stable at an after Christmas sale, I swapped over to a Rubbermaid storage container and just wrapped everything in felt. There are great ideas for displaying your Nativity scene online, people are so creative!

I stopped using their containers and just wrap them in packing paper and store them in a rubbermaid tub. It saves a ton of space.

My DD got married last year near Christmas, her absolute favorite season. My parents gave her and her hubby the Willow Tree nativity set as a wedding gift.
It will be treasured for a very long time.

Photos before you unpack next year OR the sharpie idea, I used the sharpie years ago when I unpacked as some are really confusing like the camel! Just packed mine up today

What an awesome DH you have! I have some of the pieces, given to me by my MIL. When she passed, BIL sent us photos of the 'leftover' Precious Moments and Willow Tree figurines that were left after everyone got their pickings (we're 1800 miles away). We indicated what we wanted (and they would have come very close to finishing my WT nativity set) but a nephew swooped in and took them all before BIL could ship them to us. BIL (nephew's dad) didn't see the problem. They aren't worth anything, you know? Yeah, it's a bit of sore spot. Anyway, sorry for the mini-vent. I'm glad to hear you figured out how to get them packed back up. I know, with things like that, it's not always easy even if you DID unpack them yourself.

Note that this thread is two years old. I thought to myself "I don't remember typing that yesterday," and then I noticed the year. A spammer bumped it.
