I was watching HSN and they announced a 24hr crafting day this coming Tuesday. Who likes to watch this? I do but I think they over do it on cricut/ Anna Griffith merchandise. I'd like to see more variety.

I have never bought anything but I love watching it just for fun!

I'd like to see more variety. I agree! I used to tape them and watch in fast forward, but most of them are the same things- Anna Griffith (pretty stuff, though), Cricut, and Martha Stewart (lots of punches using plain cardstock). I so often wish the HSN hosts would just stop talking and let the crafter do the speaking.

Sometimes I turn on HSN if I need some positive background noise while I multitask. No joke. Those people are SO positive and could get me to buy things I had no desire to buy. But I know HSN or QVC will never show me trailers for scary or depressing movies, the state of the world today, etc. All sunshine and rainbows.
Does WRMK ever come on? I feel like they have a lot of new products out they could demo!

WRMK was promoting the framecutter on Instagram as an HSN offering this week. I would assume that would mean some of their other items will be shown too.

Thanks for the alert. I'm always at work the days they're on but I do record some of the segments. I'm frozen until spring but I like watching anyway. For those of you not in the freezer: Have fun!

I've never been an HSN watcher so of course I never tune in for the craft shows. I sure did love the scrapbooking shows on QVC back in the day!

I am impressed that some of those hosts on both stations look just as I remember them looking 20 years ago.

I like background noise, too, and this would be a good choice for something I really wouldn't 'have to' pay attention to unless I wanted to. I typically have either a Twilight movie or youtube scrapping videos on when I'm crafting, but they sometimes catch my attention and I get distracted.

We cut the cable a few years ago so I probably won't stream it but may check out the website to see what aired. I do miss the QVC shows from years back

HSN does get the latest and greatest often times before anyplace else. You have to give them credit as they are the only ones out there selling crafts. QVC decided we werent their target audience. WRMK debuts most of their new products on HSN. Yes, Anna Griffin gets too much air time but I do love her card kits and her products are lovely. You can thank Suzanne Runyon for pretty much saving the idea of having craft days on tv. When QVC gave up on crafts, she moved to HSN and sold the idea. Monthly craft days are a regular happening now. Yes, some of the hosts need to be quiet. One of my favorite things lately is the Diamond Press...it works great and I am using the alphabet dies all the time. Its only available on HSN.

But I don't any more since it's all the same products/lines and so much talking.

But I know HSN or QVC will never show me trailers for scary or depressing movies, the state of the world today, etc. All sunshine and rainbows. Does WRMK ever come on? I feel like they have a lot of new products out they could demo! That's their job, lol! I never buy anything from home shopping channels without questioning the purchase about 1,000 times because I feel like I'm only buying because they make it sound so exciting. I do find it funny that they have hosts who claim they are crafty and then have no clue the names of basic tools (there is a blonde lady who always seems to flub the lingo but says she's crafty every single time...I try and chalk it up to maybe she's not a huge paper crafter and is just creative in other ways but she wants to come off as relatable and says she does paper crafting). Every time they say die cuts for a die it drives me insane...I yell (not like sports watching yelling or anything, lol) at my TV that die cuts are what dies make, they aren't die cuts themselves! Funny the pet peeves we have. I usually play it as background noise as well because they have so many things that I have no interest in. The vintage Anna Griffin stuff is hideous (imo, anyway). WRMK does demo most of the punch boards and whatnot, but it bugs me that they do the same basic things every time. For the alphabet punch boards, I want to see them make a W or an M, not an E or a B. Those are the complicated letters and if they can do that easily on air (especially because those two letters require different sized paper and/or layering 2 smaller pieces together) then I'd be more inclined to buy it, but it's always the easy letters and to me, that's not a true demonstration! I hear that Hobby Lobby is getting the mini soon (WRMK told me on their page that they have it, but they don't yet...January is reset month so I am pretty confident they'll have it within a month) and I will definitely be buying that. I want to use it here and there for WEEK in my PL...hence my desire to see them demo a W!

I hate to tell you but I tried using the WRMK mini letter punch board yesterday...first of all, they are way too big for most layouts...and secondly, the three letters I tried making looked awful. I highly suggest forgetting about it. I just measured the size of the paper you use for each letter....1 1/2" x 2 1/2"...and the letters end up about that size.

I highly suggest forgetting about it. I just measured the size of the paper you use for each letter....1 1/2" x 2 1/2"...and the letters end up about that size. I really should. I want it because I'm often too lazy to pull out my Cameo...but if I'm too lazy to do that, I'll probably be too lazy to punch something (I don't use my tools that much because I just don't want to dig through what I have to see if something works but I keep buying them). I had a project in mind that I wanted to do for my husband and thought how great it would be to have the punch board to make the letters I wanted to make but finally spent the 5 minutes it took to drag out my Cameo and finally installed fonts from my old computer onto this one and found a great font (a funky font with hearts on all of the letters, it was perfect...completely cliche and over the top cutesy, exactly the kind of look I was aiming for). It took just a couple sheets of cardstock, some tombow mono multi glue and viola! I even used the cut out hearts as an ellipsis (my 6 year old thought that was the coolest and most original idea ever). The best part? The cardstock was something I got for cheap at TM eons ago, the post-its I used were from Dollar Tree and my cameo got to see use for the first time in a very long time. Total cost for my uber cutesy lovey endeavor to my husband for our anniversary? $1.08. Even with a coupon, the large punch board would have cost so much more than that. The punch board does one font (unless you want to spend more and simply decorate the letters by punching shapes into them), takes more time than just typing something and hitting cut on a Cameo, and it's a uni-tasker (channeling my inner Alton Brown here). You buy enough of those boards and you're spending the same as it would cost (probably more) for an electric die cutter that does so much more...not to forget the space they take up after a while. Man, am I ever verbose today!

Bumping this thread because Scrapbooking and Crafting Shows are on all day today (Tuesday). I am enjoying watching the demonstrations. I am a scrapbooker/cardmaker but I have to tell you, I am fascinated with the Sugarbelle cookie decorating kits they are showing. Made by American Crafts ... and boy are they cute.

I ended up w/nothing as well. scrapaddict702, I will definitely check Michael's. Although, I think that one uses magnets and I am prone to lose small pieces. Thanx for the tip, though! I also liked those totally Tiffany storage things that she showed with wood mounted stamps. I bought nothing though. I was thinking about those, too! I am in the process of unmounting my stamps, but it's such a pain that I'm tempted to bail. Those thingies would make storing the ones I have left really convenient. What's a cookie cutter product have to do with paper crafting. I'm not a baker. Right? I did notice these days have gone from being scrapbook extravaganzas to being called 'Paper Crafting' days to simply being called 'Crafting' days. Every time there are fewer & fewer scrapbook items. It's sad.

It's sad. Thanks again to Jennifer McGuire, I need more things in my life. There are magnet bars you can get. Found one option for $6.45 on amazon. They are sturdier...she wraps the middle of them in washi to make them easy to pick up, too.
