I'm new to the area, have never heard of this one, and I am wondering if it is worth going to. Has anyone here been to it previously? Is anyone here going? It's in Plano, the last weekend in January.

No one knows anything about it? No one has been?
I want to go. I am also hoping to go to the Scrapbook Expo at the end of March, and GASC in June.
And at some point, I really want to drive to the Waxahachie LSS.
I don't need a thing, I really don't, but I have always found fun things at conventions. In Virginia, there was only one per year. Here there are three!

Never heard of it. I only go to the Expo in Grapevine, and GASC in Arlington.

I meant to answer earlier, sorry. After you posted I went to check out the vendor list and didn't see too many exciting or even interesting options. I don't mean to be a downer, but I'm gonna save my Money for expo.

The one on Saturday, Jan. 28th was advertised by Scrapbook Expo. There seems to be a heavy focus on stamping at this one, and I love stamps. At least three of the stamp companies that will be there are among my favorites, all for different reasons. (Heartfelt Creations, Art Gone Wild, and Rubber Cottage)
Even though those vendors may be at the Scrapbook Expo on Mar. 31st, or at GASC in June, and I do hope & plan to go to those shows, too, things can sometimes thwart the best of plans. I'm going to the one on Saturday. If I don't find anything good, it won't be any worse than when I went to two different LSS in the Dallas area that were also a bit of a drive. I left empty handed from one of them, and bought very little at the other. If I find good stuff at the stamp show, great. If I don't, at least I will have given it a try.

loco coco, I think the Scrapbook Expo and GASC are both worth going to. I always found fun, unique supplies and/or tools every time I attended. They also have classes and crops. I only go for the shopping.
Thanks for the welcome, too. I already love it here!

KikiPea, from your post, it sounds like the Expo is better than GASC now? Can you elaborate what you like better, please? What are the differences?

Thanks, KikiPea! Guess I will set aside a bigger percentage of my spending money for the Expo.

I also am new to the area and would love to visit the scrapbook store in Waxahachie, but it's about a 3 hour drive for me. I'll get there one of these days

The Plano show is small compared to the Expo, but I like to go at least one day and check it out. You can find unique stamps that you won't find in the mainstream stores. Heartfelt Creation also usually has some sort of show special and I seem to always purchase more than I plan too in their booth! Scrapbook Expo is good, only downside is the cost of the parking. They always have plenty to choose from, old and new. I think it will be even better this year since they have pushed the date to later in March it will give the vendors an opportunity to get some of the new releases from CHA in stock. The GASC seems to have continually gone down the last few years, it seems to have more older product then new. The store in Waxahachie (The Crafty Scrapper) is pretty awesome... for full disclosure I do work and teach there... lol BUT I was and still am a good customer It's 4500 square feet and have alot of product. We carry all the name brands and will be happy to order anything you may need. Hope you can make it down sometime!

Thanks, geenagtx, it is on my to do list to get to that store in Waxahachie! I also appreciate your feedback on the three shows. Heartfelt Creations is one reason why I want to go this Saturday. I love their stamps, especially the ones for 3D flowers. I always spend too much at their booth.

An update: I went this morning. It was small, but there were more than enough stamps to keep me happy. Not as much scrapbook stuff, although there was some.
It was worth going (for me). I wanted one of the Marianne house dies. One vendor there had the one I wanted. It wasn't cheap, but those dies come from the U.K. Amazon wanted double the retail price. I have seen some adorable cards done with this die.
I went next to Heartfelt Creations, where I bought some stamps and matching dies. Then I went to Rubber Cottage and bought a bunch of card sayings.
All in all, I spent more than I thought I would, but felt it was definitely worth the hour drive to get there. If I didn't already have far too many stamps, I probably would have spent more, but I didn't spend much time at most of the stamp booths. I was looking for specific things,so once I found them, I was done shopping.
I spent two hours at most there. The admission was good for two days, although I think those who would return for a second day probably just wanted time away from kids to scrapbook, or spent a lot of time at the booths learning techniques. Several booths had demos or make and takes. I didn't want to take the time this time.

I went to the Waxahatchie store yesterday on my way to Austin. I was disappointed. Will not go back. Love Scrappin' Goodtime in Corsicana, much better.

I used to love the Waxahatchie store but not so much in the last year or two. The bigger space is nice but they never seem to have anything new any more except maybe Tim Holtz (they have a huge selection of TH's products) & Illustrated Faith (which is just not my jam). I've gone in looking for new collections & they don't have what I'm looking for like Pink Paisley or Pink Fresh Studios or much that's on trend & new. Last time I went, I didn't buy a single thing. Anything I would have bought, I already had. They do carry nice selection of mixed media supplies & offer several classes. They use to carry a ton of new stuff. I want to support the LSS (it's about 45 minutes away from me) before I buy online but that's been getting harder to do. It's wroth a visit if you haven't been before though. I just hope they get in a bigger variety from CHA this year. Fingers are crossed!
