Just watched another TH sneak peek. It's a stamp press. One of the differences in this one is the lid reverses so you can use it with clear or rubber stamps. Price is $39.95.

It is very impressive, lots of thought went into this product. How about cleanup with an alcohol swab for permanent ink?
Heads are exploding.

I really like the look of this one. Looks to me like Tim and Tonic put a lot of thought into how to build a better mousetrap here. The way the lid lines up with the base, so it's easier to open; the reversible top so you don't need to mess around with foam inserts, the 8.5" x 8.5" work area.I just picked up the Hampton Art version, and I like how it works and love the price, but I like the Tim/Tonic version better than any I've seen. LOVE the cleaning with alcohol for permanent ink Watching him use it, it seemed quite substantial and well-made. I have other Tonic products - all the Tim Holtz scissors, 3 different guillotine paper cutters, a bunch of punches and the border system for them - and they have all held up under use. Except one defective punch, and Tonic's customer service was fabulous on that. Honestly, even if this was excluded from coupons, I think it would be worth the suggested price. Never felt that way about the pink one.

I think it's awesome that there is more competition coming. I think that the poor customer service that My Sweet Petunia has become known for is really going to be biting her in the ass now...much like people got fed up with SC and went elsewhere even though they were the first to really mainstream kit clubs. I might have myself several varieties of stamp presses (and seeing as they don't last forever, this is definitely not a bad thing).

I think about the ONLY change I would make is how he has the curve on the end. I would have left it on the acrylic piece and then made something in the middle instead of the side for the logo on the base so the handle sticks out on both sides...but I think I'm being nitpicky, lol.

Thank you for the links. That is one thing I will be getting, and I won't mind paying full price. I love that it is made by tonic, because they absolutely make quality products and because it is magnetic and takes 12x12. Winner, winner! Thanks so much for linking!

Yep, I'm buying it! I have an original Misti that is on its last legs because of cracking issues, I just bought the HA stamp perfect and absolutely will be buying this one! I agree that this one is perfect!

I love the idea. BUT I always wonder about adding too much. Will the fact that the lid comes off and on eventually make it not as steady? I read here that the hamptom arts one shifts ever so slightly. How could this one not shift? Wouldn't there have to be a smidge of give in the hinges in order for it to be removable?

Had to run off to get my son from school, so I couldn't finish the video. I think the 12x12 downside is that the legs go all the way around...while the base might be flat, those legs will make it so you can't stamp with things that already have dimension otherwise the pressure would be uneven. In all fairness, I think for anything bigger than the platform size, the Mega Misti is still the best for 12x12.

Wow, thanks for sharing because I'm impressed! I've been waiting to find a more versatile stamp positioner before buying one. I don't have a lot of space to store tools and supplies so it needs to fit the bill just right or I don't get it. This looks like it's it! Also, The TH Tonic Studios trimmer is my favourite. Happy to see they're continuing their collaboration and that the signature grey curve design is being used again. Hey, I might have something matchy-matchy in my stash soon. Woohoo! Slightly OT: Tim Holtz is such a good teacher. He is straight to the point and clear with his explanations.

I would just be stamping on 12x12 paper so I could scrapbook on it, I wouldn't be stamping on an already embellished page, I would embellish afterwards.

To me the current pros outweigh the potential cons. did they say when it will be in stores?

Oh, I get that it would work in that instance...but if someone wanted to add something as a final touch, it wouldn't be possible unless the page was relatively flat. Just an observation that it isn't foolproof and would still have it's limitations.

I'm a fan of this too. Looking forward to hearing feedback once it's released. I haven't bought a stamp press so this is exciting for me. Hearing about the customer service and quality issues with the Misti always put me off.

If the customer service of the creator was better, people probably would consider the Mega Misti. As someone who owns an early version of the original Misti that is cracking for absolutely no reason, I would never even consider buying another.

I too have an original misti and I absolutely will be also getting this I agonized over the 12x12 misti for scrapbookingbut for the price and customer service of tonic this is a real winner .
I always feel sad that the original inventor of the misti did not handle her ideas/ customers better or differently or whatever the problem was . She had SUCH a good idea and it really has become as much of a must have stamping tool as acrylic blocks Such a shame for her

I have wanted a stamp press for quite some time, but I have heard the problems with the MISTI (cracking), the slight shift in the Hampton Arts one, and I have just not been willing to make the purchase yet. Hope I will see lots of rave reviews when this product is released. Tonic seems to have a really good reputation for tools, but so does We R Memory keepers, so I am on hold until I hear more.

And now everyone is making one!
