Just saw an advertisement for world globes you decorate. They look cute.

I think they're a little late to the globe party. They are all over Pinterest and Etsy as well and have been for a long time. You can buy them already decorated. I have a friend at work that designs and sells them also. I love scrapbooking and card-making but have never been really enjoyed 'altered' art too much. To each their own though!

Lord -- even I made a "decorated globe"!!! LOL! Well - actually it is a globe lamp -- 1/2 of a globe with fringe and a finial so it isn't highly decorated! But it was a Christmas gift atleast 2 years ago! A local judge received a globe decorated with her previous travel destinations -- also a couple years ago! I still like globes and think they are neat gifts, but I would think they need to be very personalized if one is going that way for a gift! I don't know how personalized a cookie cutter product would be but since old school house globes are getting harder to find, then this might be a good seller.

I did a quick Google search and found one that had all the continents done in glued-on buttons. It was really pretty, and I thought if I had the patience, I definitely DO have enough buttons... But then I AM glue gun challenged, so maybe not! Do you have a link to the AC globes, Leone?

I saw them online through ACOT and thought they were really pretty. I don't have a lot of space in my home for something like that, but they do look lovely. I have drooled over some of the etsy ones, but shipping to Canada is often prohibitively expensive

I wish they'd been earlier, so many cool vintage globes would have been spared....
Scrap manufacturers jumped on the blackboard trend late, and it's lasted years. Maybe it's not too late. Although globes aren't as versatile as chalkboards.

I saw the listing for these at A Cherry on Top -- they are ONLY 8 INCHES -- I'm assuming that is diameter, not circumference. The globe I cut up was an old school globe and is 12" diameter and isn't all that big!

I wish they'd been earlier, so many cool vintage globes would have been spared.... Yes! So many beautiful vintage and antique items have been sacrificed on the altar of all things trendy. It pains me to see some really lovely old items turned into the latest must-have customised item (which will soon be out of fashion with irreversible damage done). I went to a wedding several years ago where a chalkboard globe was displayed with all the travels the happy couple had made together. I was under the impression the trend was already over?

No, I dont have a link. It came up as an advertisement on Facebook. I must have missed the whole globe thing as Ive never seen one. But to be honest, Im not a fan of Pinterest as it seems overwhelming.

Dang I knew altered globes were popular but I didn't know they were on the way out.. I was just looking at an old globe at the thrift store and thinking about getting it but didn't. They only phase I knew about was making them into lamps.
Edited to add.. I just checked on the link for the altered ones.. I love them actually!!

I didn't even know globes were a trend. Altered globes probably wouldn't have caught my eye anyway. Reminds me of geography class. Yuck. And if it's AC they'll probably mess up the spelling. United Stats anyone?
