I have never posted on any of the political threads, even back on the old peaboard, but I wanted to share this article my DD wrote for an online "newspaper". Full disclosure, I was raised by very red parents and my children are most decidedly blue. DH and I are pretty much purple, right in the middle, conservative on some issues, liberal on others. I am very proud of DD in that while her candidate lost, she carried on with life and did not act like many of the college kids the media showed. Her article is worth reading, something both Republicans and Democrats should understand: Democracy is not a passive system. www.theodysseyonline.com/democracy-is-not-passive-system

I have often said, while many complain about the upcoming generation, many are very aware, willing and wanting to make it a better world. Your daughter seems to be part of that plan. Good for her.

Very well written. My sons are in their 20's and when I look at their friends I have hope.
When I look at my friend's three adopted little children, I need hope.

Very good piece! You have a right to be proud of her. I love this part:
"If we don’t continually communicate and question our leaders, we are willingly giving away our power. The power of the common people is not limited to once every two years or every four years. We carry the unlimited power of speech, of sharing our voice and joining it with others."

I am impressed by your daughter and her entire written piece, craftedbys and you should be very proud of her. I love the part quoted above, and your dd's challenge to all of us. Please thank her for writing and sharing these thoughts. I've posted on FB and will send via email to others.
