I'm feeling SICK to the depth of my being... mourning for what our country has lost. If you did not vote for Trump - how are you feeling today, right now?
I am dressed head to toe in black, wasn't going to watch at all, but feeling this weird compulsion to bear witness....

I am a news channel junkie. Today I am watching Dr. Phil and the game show network.
ETA - I see a lot of reruns and game shows in the future because as soon as 'that' face appears on my news shows I am hitting the remote. ugh

I get it.
I know that watching or not watching won't make a difference. But he's going to be president whether I'm watching or not, and I know enough of my civics to understand the process, so I'm just going to ignore him right now. I'm going to go work at the food pantry for a while instead.
And yes, there is a teensy part of me that keeps waiting for them to tell us we've all been on Candid Camera or Punk'd or something...I know it's not the case, but it still seems like it has to be!

I can't watch, but DH has it on in another room, so I'm catching a little here and there. Will not watch Trump's speech at all. It is a very depressing day to me.

Presidential Oath includes the words "to the best of my ability" - of which he has none... we're screwed. but those of us who feel this way must work to do all we can to push back.

Not me. I'm just heading out the door to the grocery store, to stock up for all the college kids who are coming up with dd this evening for the march tomorrow.

The best I can describe it is a darkness. I do not feel optimistic in the least. Have you noticed how incredibly uncomfortable Malania has looked all day?

I am watching.
I am not a fan of now President Trump. I do not care for pretty much every thing he represents.
I am, though, watching because I am in absolute awe that I live in a country that in spite of our divisions, can transfer governmental power in a peaceful way and not at the point of a gun.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, turn off the tv and go do something else, something you enjoy. I know that won't change reality but it may make you feel less despondent.

4 years. Here we go. Not sure right now how I'm feeling or how this will all play out. Saying a little prayer for us all.

OMG! Don't be so dramatic. Really you don't have to watch it. And no, I didn't vote for him.

And after the smiles for the photographers at the White House, I thought that both Barack and Michelle looked like they were going to the gallows when they walked beside their successors in the halls as they approached the inauguration platform...

And after the smiles for the photographers at the White House, I thought that both Barack and Michelle looked like they were going to the gallows when they walked beside their successors in the halls as they approached the inauguration platform... At one point when Malania and Michelle got out of their car, Malania scanned the crowd and zeroed in on a camera like a celebrity. Michelle noticed a secret service agent and greeted him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. The body language seemed very telling of their personalities. SaveSave

I've never heard a new president brag about himself at his inauguration. I'm so sick to my stomach right now.

I'm not watching. He could have the greatest address in our history and I wouldn't believe a word of it. He spoke of unity in his acceptance speech in November and then proceeded to nominate divisive nominees, take to Twitter, defend Russia, and basically be a lot of what we saw in the campaign. I imagine every President goes through their election and inauguration somewhat punch drunk on power only to find the actual office very sobering.

I was doing ok, enjoyed the pageantry, until he began his speech & dissed Washington right there in the middle of all of Washington. That was it for me.

He's going to put "America First!" (if Russia says that that's OK, of course).

I wouldn't be watching if Hillary won. They are boring and drawn out. I might DVR some of it and do lots of fast forwarding.
