Hi I figured I would give you one for this weekend, too.
How do you like stamping on layouts? Do you do it often? Sometimes? Maybe once? Never, just not into stamps.
I have stamped lots of times on layouts. I still have some foam stamps I really liked in the past. The abstract ones got sold or donated a long time ago. I really enjoy stamping on a layout with acrylic/photopolymer stamps a lot! I have some favourite ones and some I just managed to collect because they were pretty. I sometimes wish I were more creative and used my stamps more, but I do use them.
What else do you stamp on? Cards? Ribbon? Sky's the limit with this!

I don't usually stamp directly on a layout. I do like to use stamps as embellishments, mostly cutting or punching around the image. The Brother Scan N Cut is great for that. It scans the stamped image and then cuts it out perfectly- no need to fussy cut it yourself. Occasionally I have stamped a whole background as a repeating pattern. I'd like to use my stamps more often. Thanks for starting this thread to remind me! I used to use foam stamps with acrylic paint, but I haven't done that in years, although I still have the stamps.

This is something I want to get better at...last year I even purchased a few of the large size Carabelle stamps specifically for this purpose. Now I just need to use them. Sometimes I will stamp small images on embellishments, but I like the look of stamping really making a statement on a layout. I have some old Heidi Swapp foam stamps I like, but they are huge. I've got my eye on the new Tim Holtz foam stamps...they seem to be a more manageable size for titles and I like the idea of using up some of my paint on layouts.

I stamp on layouts sometimes, but more often than not, I make embellishments by stamping on paper, using a paper punch to cut it out perfectly, then using a pop dot on the back to give it some dimension. I also use Stickles and sometimes Nuvo drops to make it more mine.

Nichol Spohr (Magourik) was key for me in stamping on layouts. In her old videos of her scrapbooking layouts she stamps a lot on her pages. When I started watching those videos, I started using my stamps on pages a lot more. I have a ton of stamps and a lot of the time I use them to create labels to put on pages. Great way to make your own embellishments AND use your stamps at the same time.

gosh - I haven't stamped on layouts in years...I did for a little while back when embossing powder was a big thing but I never really got into it. I use my stamps for cards only at this point - I'm not a big stamper though.

I need to use mine more as they are my weakness (along with enamel anything) in this hobby. I have no issue purging anything else but everytime I purge I NEVER purge these things. I have curbed my buying of them substantially though so that is good. I will be pulling out stamps this week to go with some kits I have made up for when I feel better. I have a three day crop this coming weekend so hopefully I am better by then and can stamp stamp stamp and create away!
I love to do what most of you have stated, stamp an image, color or embellish it and then fussy cut or punch it and place on the layout. I also used to love to stamp journaling blocks and some words in my journaling to add different type/text to it. Titles too!

I've gotten more stamps from kit clubs than I would have bought on my own. My favorite thing to do is to make my own patterned paper with stamps and cardstock--keeps me from shopping too much!

I have a goal to stamp something on every layout, sometimes I forget...but it does give me an excuse to buy more/use the stamps I own.

I almost never stamp images on my layouts...text on the other hand happens on 90% of them. I find it so much easier to add a little word or phrase here and there then to try and incorporate an image of some kind.

I think the only non-word stamps I regularly use are label shapes which I'll sometimes emboss. I love having the perfect little word or phrase tucked into the layers on my pages and don't care if it comes from a stamp or a sticker sheet.

I was a stamper before I was a scrapbooker. My very first layout was stamped (background), right on the Creative Memories page. I don't stamp on every layout, but I do use stamps when I feel it will add to my page. I typically use rubber stamps or clear. I have a few foam stamps, but I don't use them on layouts. One of my favorite things to do is to stamp my own background. For example, I had photos taken in the mountains near a cabin. I had some paper that had a cabin, but it was too cutesy and not the look I was going for. I had some beautiful, detailed stamps that were larger and very suitable, that could be stamped in one color, then additional color added with copic markers. I stamped a couple of other elements on the page, too. It's a simple, old-school layout in many ways, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. I will try to link to that page: Rustic stamped layout

I stamp quite frequently on my scrapbooking layouts because I've been a member of Club Scrap since 2000 and they have taught me how much fun it is to do this and how much it adds to a layout. In the early years (1999 to 2000) each kit included 2 wooden rubber stamps. Since 2001 you could also buy unmounted rubber sheets of stamps (which I really love because they are so affordable and easy to use, plus they have such great images) for each kit. Around 2008 they started only selling the unmounted rubber sheets.
These stamps include images, phrases and words. If you are curious you can see them at their site. They have a shop on their site so that you can see stamps from many kits.
