We walked by some cops standing on top of their cruisers. Marchers on that side of the street were handing them their phones and the cops would take a pic and then hand the phone back, take another phone, take a pic, hand it back, etc, etc. This went on the whole time we were in their area. One of the guys even did a little wiggle/dance on top of his cruiser when the music played. We loved it! They looked like they were having as much fun as we were! The Kind folks handed out Kind bars at our metro stop (Vienna). I thought that was an awesome corporate tie-in. What a fantastic idea and the perfect product placement! We gave some of our bars to cops and a couple to some metro workers. (We way over-packed food and "in case we need this"supplies, though I did end up using my duct tape and a safety pin! lol)

I think it's wonderful how many of you marched! I stayed home so I could watch all the speeches on TV. On TV it looked like they removed all the big screen TVs that were on the mall the day before for the inauguration? I also heard that all the port-a-potties were locked overnight. I was disappointed that it didn't get full all day coverage on major channels. Here's some neat pictures of the DC police wearing pink hats: www.washingtonian.com/2017/01/22/dc-police-working-womens-march-also-wore-pussyhats/From annabella's link: Save

Me in DC! I'm from central Ohio!
Saturday was a wonderful day, so positive, met many nice people.
When I returned to the charter bus at 6 pm and I turned my cellular service back on and this text was from my Trumpite sister.
I should note that I didn't send her any message, text, I'm not on FB and she's not on Twitter. I posted just one picture of me at the March on twitter.
So her text to me was completely unsolicited and I'm typing it exactly (note, I'm a social worker and have 24 years with children's services (abused and neglected children) as she mentions my profession >>>
Then I typed, "Don't lecture me about ethics. You seem to be a typical Trumper. No one else is permitted to speak out and exercise their 1st Amendment right to speak out unless they agree with the Trump agenda. Just go back to not speaking or texting me.
I typed >>> It is a pink crocheted hat with a "cat ear" pattern that has been out for a couple of years. Why aren't you as outraged by the Trump statement about grabbing women by the pussy as you are about a pink crocheted hat? Don't worry about me, you take care of your life and I'll take care of mine. I am 54 years old and you are 52 years old. I am not sure why you are spending so much energy on this. Typical Trumper anger.
my response >> I don't owe you any explanation: go post your Trump tirades on FB. You don't need to insinuate yourself into what I say or do.
She was then typing more because I could see the dots, but I blocked her contact on my phone.

a Little late to respond We just got home a few hours ago.
We were in DC. My daughter, sister, bil, niece we all went from NC. We meet my niece who is in college at UMD, and my sister who lives in St. Louis and Chicago. I would love to share this story : We missed the rally because of this.. but it didn't matter.. it was a fantastic day.
I want to share a great story from the March on Saturday. I am always impressed by the kindness of strangers, and the power of women. My niece who is a freshman at a university in DC left her wallet, money, id, metro card etc. in my sisters car Friday night. She had to meet us at the march to get it back. Cell phone service was sketchy and we were stuck on a train. We tried to get her to meet up with my other sister who was at 4th & Jefferson near the entrance to the rally but it was jam packed. With the crush of the people and the lack of cell service, my niece and sister could not find each other. Some of the women around my niece noticed her distress and asked if they could help. She told them she was looking for my sister, and her name, around her they started to chant my sisters name. The woman next to her said, Sister's Name, from St. Louis?? She said yes, my sister's friend who she had served with in the Peace Corps in the 70's was standing right next to my niece! My sister heard the crowd chanting her name and as she walked up behind my niece recognized her friend who still works for the Peace Corps and lives in Africa! Eventually we all meet up and had a fantastic experience at the march. I am humbled and invigorated by the amazing power of women united. My favorite slogan from the day: Strong Women May we know them. May we be them. May we Raise them. May we elect them. Let's be the change we want to see in the world!

Hi all, just wanted to raise my hand and say I was there marching in DC too in my purple "Fearless, Flawless Feminist" t-shirt! My daughter and her girlfriend marched in Wichita KS and they had a nice crowd there also. So many people in DC, across the country and around the world, so many reasons to have hope! It was an amazing day and I'm so proud and thrilled to have been a part of it. Yay us!!

I never had a problem with my phone on the Mall or around town during the march. I was able to post photos on FB, answer when people posted, text with my DD and DH. (I have Sprint, if that made any difference on Sat.) Maybe I just lucked out?

I marched in Denton, Texas. One sister marched in Wichita Falls, Texas. Her daughter and granddaughter marched in Topeka. 2 sisters and a niece marched in Houston, Texas. Wonderful, wonderful time. I met 2 ladies from Dallas and now will attend some meetings they are hosting for follow up activities. Here is a photo of me with some women that I met prior to the beginning of the march. I am holding a sign that says 'No hate in my state" www.flickr.com/photos/26066871@N04/32295608872/in/album-72157675701150594/

My 83 year old mother just heard from an old friend in her 80's as well. Fran lives in one of those combined retirement homes in Oakland and she help lead a march of approximately 50 residents ranging in age, the eldest 94. People march around their residence in walkers and wheelchairs and on their own power to show support.

On vacation and waived signs in Lihue, Kauai. It was raining hard and really windy and I had a blast. Had no sign but helped another hold her sign and it was great. Everyone so kind. Lots of hugs shared.
