I am going to Nashville on Friday with my daughter. What are some good restaurants to try? Also, we were thinking of going to the Grand Ole Opry; any other touristy-sites we should see?

Where are you staying, what do you like, and will you have a car?

We visited the Antique Archeology (American Pickers) store just two weeks ago. It is in an old building with several other shops and a great coffee shop.

Johnny Cash museum was by far my favorite! But I loved all the museums. I really liked the Acme restaurant.

How old is your DD? We liked the mainstreet with HonkyTonk Row (lower Broadway), but depending on her age, I would probably hit it earlier in the day.

We LOVE Hattie B's hot chicken. It's very casual, but the food is fantastic (and there's a wide range of "heat" available, so don't be put off if you don't like hot foods). We've been to the one near Vanderbilt (mid-town?), but wasn't as crazy about the atmosphere there as the one that's not so centrally located. Enjoy your trip!

My DD is 18. She is auditioning at Belmont U. so we are staying near there. And I did rent a car.
Thanks for the tips ... keep 'em coming.

I love Taqueria del Sol. Fido is great for coffee and breakfast or lunch. If you walk around the Hillsboro village area there are some cute shops and restaurants. And Nashville's fabulous mayor lives in the area..

I would love to go to the Hatch Show Print shop. It is a historical letterpress printer. You may have never heard of them but you have seen their work. hatchshowprint.com/current-work/custom-designs-postersI believe they are right next door to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

My favorite restaurant in Nashville is Tin Angel. The Warm Goat Cheese Salad is my favorite. My husband loves the Pan Roasted Salmon.

Since you'll be at Belmont, you'll be near 12 South, a trendy street with lots of food and shopping options. Corner Music is a great instrument shop, if you're into music. Urban Grub is very good, and we really like Edley's barbecue. Don't miss the Ryman, the original home of the Opry.

I really preferred the Johnny Cash museum to the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. My fave restaurant is in East Nashville; Marche serves authentic French food. I can recommend the tart as well as the creme brulee, but I've never been disappointed in my meal or cocktail there.
