I need a kick in the *** to get back on track. I am curious if anyone has participated in a diet bet? Was it worth it? Did it keep you on track? There is an Instagram person. Follow starting one.

I've done several. "won" all but 1 I think? Maybe 2? I like the 30 day ones. Short enough to keep me focused.

Yes and I won, sort of. On one road trip I was particularly frustrated that I couldn't get my weight under control again. I was addicted to Coke and I said I just need to kick the habit.
My DH is ever supportive no matter what size I am but he knows how I struggle so he offered me a large amount of $$ for me to go on a shopping spree with my sister if I could quit drinking coke. And I did, I've completely lost the addiction, sadly it's been replaced with a different carbonated beverage but at least coke is gone.
Now I just need to actually lose the weight so I can go on my monster shopping trip. 😀

I've done 1 ...and I lost by .2 pounds. It sucked but it made me push harder. Autumn Calabrese has one starting soon if you want to search for it.

I'm actually doing the Chris and Heidi Powell Kickstarter one right now. It's been great! Super motivating, because I don't want to lose my thirty bucks. There's like 14,000 people in it, I think. I don't have much weight to lose, but this has kept me motivated more than 5 days lol.

I think they are a great tool if you are ready or almost ready to lose weight. I don't think they work if your mind isn't there yet If you are there or almost there go for it and I hope you do well!!

Yes. I did a diet bet with a friend who also needed to lose weight. We each put a certain amount into the kitty (it was quite a bit, like $100 each), and the bet was whether we could each lose xx lbs by xx date. If we both achieved the goal, we'd each just get our money back. If one reached the goal and the other didn't, the winner got all of the money. If neither achieved the goal, I think we agreed to give the money to charity. Anyway, the bet kept me super focused, but she fell off the track after just a few weeks. I won all the money!

I am in a diet goal group. If I lose 15 lbs I get a new purse. There are about 30 of us in the group. I don't know how long it will take to get there but not too long hopefully.

Haven't done a diet bet but have done a step bet and am participating in another one. Kinda along the same lines. You have to hit your step goal for four days (mine is 12,000), have two stretch goal days (mine is 14,000) and have one rest day. If I haven't hit my steps and it is getting late, you might see me walking around in circles in our culdesac.
