I'm in search of a glue/glue stick/adhesive that *stays* repositionable. I'm working on collecting miscellaneous ephemera (pictures cut from magazines, tags, tickets, etc) to be used at a later date on different paper crafting projects. I've been putting the items I have collected in a box, but digging through the box is not so fun. I'd like to temporarily 'glue' them into a composition book but be able to remove the item at a later time and then permanently attach it to my project. I bought a package of Elmer's Clear Transparent Repositionable Glue Sticks, only to read the fine print and find that repositioning is only available for 10 minutes. (duh. Note to self: learn to read all of the description. ) Is there such a thing as permanently restickable/repositionable adhesive? (Well, there's a good oxymoron ).

Maybe something like padding compound?
What I'd do, however, is plastic sleeves - use a copy paper middle and both sides of the sleeve in a binder. There should be enough static to hold most ephemera in place - maybe not the "heavy" stuff.
Another thought -- are you familiar with the old/original Creative Memories tape runner than was lines of tape ? Something like that - using just a single line of tape. You could even touch it a bit to remove some of the sticky ....

I sometimes use a Tombow tape runner that's repositionable. As far as I'm aware, it never holds permanently, but I've never left it on for longer than maybe a few hours.

That's what I was looking for! I think I'll try that first and then if it doesn't work for my needs, I'll try the other ideas. Thanks so much.

It is all I use. You can get it at BM craft stores but I order mine from scrapbookpal.com. I can take off things 15 years later and put them back on.

That is what is was going to mention. early on, they told us that eventually it will become permanent, but I've never had that happen. There are two types so if you get, it be careful. One is pernanent, the other is removable

Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue (green bottle) is a two-way glue. If you let the glue dry after applying but before attaching to something else it is repostionable. If you attach items while the glue is still wet it is permanent.

I haven't used it recently, but the hermafix temporary I had back in the day came out as a dot pattern and was really easy to rub off which was nice.

I second third fourth the dotto removeable. It holds well, but I have things that will still come off years later when I want them to.
