your kids, your spouse, your animals or your bladder On the weekends it's almost always the dogs. Right now my dog is bumping my bedroom door because he knows I'm awake. During the week it's either my dd when she leaves for school or dh when he gets home from work.

It's a 50/50 crapshoot between animals and bladder.

I generally wake myself. Most days I do need to visit the bathroom straight away, but I don't feel like that is what wakes me, unlike when it happens in the middle of the night.

The garden birds, particularly the thrushes, start at about 4am. That is when my DH's wake cycle begins too, then we moulder along for a bit while the ambient light gets stronger (no one overlooks us and we do not close the blinds/ curtains) and he gets up just after 5 to make coffee. These couple of hours are ours before the daily grind starts.
I had better get ready to throw that bladder thing into the mix too. Our beloved pups are both long gone but the Daxie was ready for his walk at 5 when he was alive. He slept in a basket in our suite and was allowed up on the bed for this bit. His brother the bulldog would have slept through a nuclear bomb and it was the daxie's job to get him up. The bulldog slept downstairs, so we would open up the gate at the top of the stairs and send the little guy ahead. Good memories.

Having to pee. Then I can't fall back asleep even if it's 6 am. I get so mad at myself LOL. But the alternative to not waking up is worse.

The newest little dog wakes me up to go out around 6:00-6:30 every day. My last dog slept in my bed, and after 15+ years of that I said no more so this one sleeps in a kennel in our bedroom. When she needs to go out, she quietly bangs on the door and lucky for her I'm a very light sleeper.

Husband's alarm on weekdays, myself on weekends. I rarely sleep in past 6:30, it's annoying.

My phone, 5am Monday through Saturday. Sundays are for sleeping in, but I'm still usually the first one up. And that's either bladder or needing coffee!

This big nose pushes persistently into my side/back/face, often accompanied by a happy growl. I try to persuade him to come and lie up beside me, but that only works about one morning in ten.

One of my 2 cats. She meows loudly in my ear for a few seconds and then takes over my pillow and falls asleep.

My husband wakes up at 6 and leaves for work at 630. I do not hear him or wake up when he leaves.
The kids get up between 8 and 830 (just whenever they wake up). They do not intend to wake me up, but I hear them getting their own breakfast.
I usually stay in bed and just snuggle in my blankets for about 20 minutes or so.
It's my desire for coffee that usually motivates me to finally get up.
If I have to get out of bed before 9 (the horror), then I have to set an alarm.
I am NOT a morning person.

My body won't let me sleep past 5:00 most days. My weekday alarm is set for 4:00 but rarely goes off.

I wake up on my own seven days a week at 5:30 a.m. Love it. A couple of weeks ago I actually slept in until 6:15 a.m., and it made for a rough morning. I love my little schedule.

Sometimes my alarm - it goes off at 6:15. But usually it is my dear 7 year old. He has always gotten up early and both my kids, once they are awake, they are AWAKE!. As in ready to eat and play and talk, talk, talk. For a while it was like between 4:45 and 6:00 everyday. I am tired of it sometimes and look forward to when they are teens and may enjoy sleeping in late on the weekends or at least I can hope. I hate being up so early. I would be fine with 7:00 or later.

My brain. As long as I go to bed before 11pm, I automatically wake up at 6:15 on the weekdays and 7 or so on the weekends.
If I need to wake up at 5am or earlier, I'll set an alarm.

Alarm clock on weekdays. I don't wake up well, I can easily go back to sleep again and again even though I've slept like a rock all night. I just hate getting up. Once I'm up I'm fine.
