That's great that you both have the flexibility to be able to do it! Do you work from home? I have 2 kids with autism - one who is low functioning. I have to dress him every day and bathe him every evening, and have for all of his 15 years - I have only had days off for my surgeries. And I deal with the once-a-day occurrence of him grabbing a chef's knife from the kitchen and threatening me with it when I tell him "no" to his request to buy something or another for him. The latest is a $250 limited edition WdW Magic Band 2.0. Needless to say, that is my work right now. When I was getting him on the bus, driving 45 minutes to my school district job working for 4 hours and then driving back, I had no patience for him or my other son or my husband and the whole family suffered. So, now my work is in-the-home managing him. I am beyond despair some days that all my education, training and experience is a waste right now. I never pictured myself not working full-time. If I could work outside of my hellish home, I would. Despite our political differences, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry you deal with this as your daily life. It seems to me that the one truly positive light in your life is your dh. From what I see him post on Facebook, he loves you to pieces and is an active participant in every aspect of your life.

To me, your referring to Trump as the Fuhrer minimizes what the Jews went through. Funny that you call him anti-Semitic while doing so. His actions since taking office are similar to the early steps of the Holocaust. Just with another religion as the target. You are literally the only Jew I know that supports this. I'm sure there are others, but out of all the many Jews I know, not one of them aligns with you. It is actually funny to me that removing all mention of the Jews from Holocaust Remembrance Day by Trump isn't labeled by you as anti-Semitic (which it is), my calling him the Fuhrer is.

You know Elaine, I have been thinking a lot about is thread even though I didn't comment sooner. The way I see it- you ARE working for ALL of us every time you protest, write a letter, make a phone call, or even do something as simple as posting here and making someone take a moment to think about current events. So for that I (and many others) am truly grateful. If anyone has an excuse to stay home and not get out there and do everything you are doing... it would be you and I think most people would totally give you a pass for that. I am in awe of your strength and determination

It is actually funny to me that removing all mention of the Jews from Holocaust Remembrance Day by Trump isn't labeled by you as anti-Semitic (which it is), my calling him the Fuhrer is. This is from a friend's FB post : As a Jew, I must share this: Are you paying attention yet? • Step one for Hitler was to discredit the media. • Step two was to silence scientists and government employees. • Hate crimes against minorities grew to the highest in their country’s history. Clashes between parties became so extensive that Hitler ended civil liberties (Step three), giving “law and order” as the cause. Those who opposed Hitler were ridiculed and threatened. • In Step Four wealthy supporters purchased media outlets, employing only those faithful to the ruling party. • In his final step (Step Five) Hitler declared that the only way the country could be unified was to restore traditional values. Minorities including gays, the disabled, Jews, Roma, and people of color were considered “inferior” and sent to death camps for slaughter. We're between Step 2-4. This is in case you were always confused by how so many people could go along with Hitler's Final Solution, this is exactly how it happened. Cannot even believe that this shit is happening in this country, in our time. *************** recently Trump tweeted that he wanted someone to buy The NY Times and take it over. So he is working on step 4.

Not only do I applaud you for doing this, I love that you and your hubby are so in sync. ETA after reading further elaine hugs, hugs and more hugs. I knew a bit of your struggle but not the depth. I know, as moms, we'd do anything for our kids but this is beyond. Must be so difficult. Hugs. You are fighting the good fight on multi-levels.
