I am hoping that all teachers out there can help me with the Teacher profile builder test. I am not a teacher by education but I really want to substitute teach this year. I am in the process now of filling out applications and I noticed that the next step is this test. I am a little nervous because I just completed the Teacherfit test... wow lots of cultural and scenario questions... and to be honest, I have no idea how I did. This profile test is a fast paced, timed test.. I think we get 30 seconds to answer each multiple choice question. This test is valid for 2 years!!! So, no retaking until 2016!!! Can anyone give me any tips on what they ask, what they are looking for, a place to go to take a sample test? I stumbled upon a few questions:
If a student wants to change teachers because they don't like your style.. what would you do?
If a principal has some great ideas for change but some teachers don't like the ideas, what would you do?
If a teacher is negative about a student, what would you do?
What would you do if some students are critical of your teaching?
If a principal wants to change your placement but you like your placement.. what would you do?
If a principal disapproves of the way you are disciplining a student what would you do?
Parents usually are not objective when it comes to their children so it is necessary for the teacher to 'hit them with the facts' wtf??? (agree, neutral, disagree)
Cultural questions:
Students cultural backgrounds affect how they perceive teachers? (agree, neutral, disagree)
I would not hesitate to ask other teachers about students cultural backgrounds? (agree, neutral, disagree)
It is important to recognize that a students cultural background may influence his ability to learn. (agree, neutral, disagree)
Teachers should talk with each other about how students' cultural background impact their behavior (agree, neutral, disagree)
If you have been asked similar questions... can you recall how you answered?
I really am shocked I need to take this to be a sub. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!!
