scrappington I am happy you had some alone time. It's not just an only child syndrome, lol. I am the oldest of six. I love some home alone time, too!

Ok I'm officially sick of this project that is sitting on my desk 😣but I'm weird that I can't start something new till I finshed the last project. What I really want to do is start my 2017 PL album.

I know that feeling. I say put it in a box and get out your PL album. That's what I did with Christmas projects. It was very freeing. After all, this is supposed to be fun, right?

That exact same issue had me 'stuck' for more than a week, until I finally just broke down and did my PL2017 and got all of January knocked right out. Now I'm going back to my desk project, and making steady progress. You might be different, but pushing myself to finish one thing when my heart is set on another never works for me. I have to do what I really want to do first. Good luck on your progress.

Happy/neutral post. I had to go hunting for some thread in the basement to sew on a button for DS. I had to look down at 3 totes of stuff that I had gone through to KEEP and not donate. I loved the stuff in the totes. I mean it was all sorts of pretty ephemera and Tattered Angels stencil things or those plastic things you put on layouts. I mean cool stuff.
This is why I can't purge right now. I like too many things still. I have the stuff to go to the school (snow day so the school was closed). I like my stuff. I really like it!

So I actually finished my mini album project I was working on. I decided to cut it a couple of pages short. I ran out of the initial photos I had gathered and while I could have printed more I decided that it worked out as a natural stopped point. Whew! Cleaned off the top of my desk to start fresh and was able to get the title page and first week of my PL 2017 done. It wasn't that hard I only took 6 pictures that first week! I tend to have fewer photos in January because of over picture taking in December for DD.

Good to hear of all your scrappy randomness, ladies! Today I felt like I had a touch of good scrapbook karma get me, or something. For the past few days, I've been on a scrapping bender, and I may or may not have had an enormous pile of clothes to fold and put away (Hint: MAY!). So I took the time to fold them and put them away. As I'm walking back into the living room, I hear the mail dropped into the slot, go to get it, and my Snapfish order is right there! The one that said it would be here on the 10th. So now I have fresh photos to scrapbook when I get a chance.

All I have to say is that if I don't have some photos printed, I am never going to get back to actual scrapbooking. Card-making and Cameo projects happen pretty often but I want photos! HAVE TO EDIT AND PRINT SOON!!

I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to open my planner and journal. I think I got 4 large pages of journaling done. That made me really happy. It was a brain dump really. I took all the thoughts I had in my head and put them on paper. Then I was able to sleep. This was such a relief!

Editing, ordering, and receiving photos, finishing projects (even by changing our definition of "done"), starting new adventures, getting it all out in writing: it's all good. All random, but all related to this delightful hobby of ours. Looking at our stuff and still loving it??? Priceless!!!!
I am getting pages done-- some I love; some not so much--but they are getting done. I am focussing on Christmas because I really want to put those supplies away, but when that starts to feel more like work and less like play, I am throwing in some different pages, too. When I finish a LO, I flip through my sets of photos and choose which set will be next. Then I pull out a bunch of papers and related supplies before I leave my scraproom. That way I am all ready to go when I come back.
Now if I could just learn to put away the stuff when I am done with it...

More randomness.....
Always make sure you take photos of your kid standing alone for school dance/prom kind of events. So that if they are not dating anymore two weeks later when the photos are printed, you can still easily scrap them.
I'm glad I learned this lesson back on the old pea board from many wise peas.
Now I have gorgeous pics of my dd, full of smiles to use of her Soph Hop layout, and I'll just tape that one random "couple" photo to the back of the layout.

I seem to have lost my mojo. This strange weather is to blame and quite honestly one week a month I am just not motivated to do anything LOL TMI sorry! But seriously we had two days at SEVENTY DEGREES so we could NOT be cooped up in the house, we were outside until dark and by that time I was exhausted so I have just been kitting up things for when mojo comes back. Now today we are in the low THIRTIES with vicious wind/rain and light snow (not even sticking boo). I really want one good dumping of snow but alas it doesn't seem in the cards this year Mother Nature is strange this year. So for now I am kitting and pinning sketches/layouts.

This is an awesome thread! Love love love Last night I hosted a service group from church. We made valentines for 45 older generation members and shut-ins. I was concerned we'd run short on time and while these girls *love* this activity every year, they aren't crafty in general. I ended up making two sample cards and precut everything so we just had to assemble. We had a blast! (Though I completely forgot to take pictures ) I haven't had the opportunity to be very scrappy since a retreat I went on in early January but THIS weekend is my weekend! My ACOT preorder will be here Friday, FJ kit should be here Thurs or Fri and I just got a SU order...I'm locking myself away and spending some time by myself! Our sweet new puppy will also be delivered Saturday so I will of course surface for that. It's going to be the best weekend ever! Fiskars cutters-I need to see which one I have. It was around $100-120. I loved it at first but it's just not right anymore. Almost like it might have warped maybe? It was just hard to push one direction when cutting but the last time I used it, I started getting jagged edges. I made sure it was on a completely flat surface but that didn't seem to matter. I haven't followed cutter issues recently but know Fiskars has had issues in the past...anybody have insight on current issues? Or recommendations on cutters?

I know the cutter you are referring too it really reminds me of my Making Memories one. Can you inspect the blade? Is there paper in there? I know I have to clean out the blade housing for my MM one.

Your weekend sounds heavenly! I know which one you are speaking of too. Either way Fiskars has WONDERFUL customer service. You generally just have to take a picture and write your claim up on the site and they get back to you quickly. HOpe that helps! I have had my cheaper wire one fixed several times! Save

So here's my random thought for the day...as I'm about to embark on the journey across town to the further away Joann's because the store right down the street isn't putting out new stock until next week in the department I want to shop in (and it's on sale this week, no clue if it will be or not next week). After being upset that J's wasn't getting the slightly older stock online like they used to for about a year, I finally started to think it was a good thing...it made it easier to shop less, even if I wasn't happy with it at first. But now that they are finally overhauling the scrapbooking section (besides a few limited releases, endcap setups and the relatively recent change in the PL section, they haven't updated that department in YEARS), I'm resenting the fact that they are now listening and drawing me back in after I finally became okay with it.

Here is my scrappy randomness for the day: (I posted it by mistake in the "Part 2" thread)
Today was a banner day for scrappy acquisitions!
This morning, dh came home from town with a box for me from Paper Wishes. I got some Christmas papers and dies, etc on sale in January, planning to have them for next year's cards, but since I have yet to finish scrapping Christmas 2016, I may use some of them in the next few days!
Waiting for my physio appointment, I wandered through a drug store, and rediscovered their scrapbook section. To my surprise they had a bunch of Carta Bella and KaiserCraft collections! So I ended up buying some that I had missed out on in the LSS.
Later at the LSS I picked up the cs and glue glider refills I had on order. At WM, I got a bunch of photos printed.
So I am all ready to get back into scrapping over this weekend. Whooo Hooo!!!

My totally random question is why in the middle of my work day I'm all geared up to scrapbook and have pinned great inspiration pieces and make these plans to scrapbook when I get home...then get home and I have zero motivation to do anything more than make supper? Ugh! I hate that!

After ordering a new USB cord for my cameo and completing the list of things at the silhouette site for connectivity issues, I have a cameo hardware malfunction. I'm waiting to hear back from them now as to how we'll resolve the issue, but I hate being without my cameo.

Ugh! I hate that! I don't work outside the home and have the same issue! By the time the chores are done, school/homework is done, errands are done, more chores and dinner is served/cleaned up and bedtime is completed I am POOPED and all out of mojo. I try to scrap while littlest is at preschool but that hasn't happened in the past few weeks with all the extra stuff that has neede d to be done. Oh woe is me LOL! Oh well time will come I suppose! Its a long weekend in Ontario this weekend. I will do something crafty I'm sure. I have been so busy with work lately that I haven't pinned anything. I come home, hit gym, make dinner, clean up and I'm out by 830pm and start it all again at 5:30am

Hope you find some time and energy to play this weekend, scrappington. Being retired, I can--and do--scrap during the week. If I can, I tend to do the creative stuff early in the day before the ideas--and patience--dry up. Also, dh often goes into town for coffee weekday mornings, which gives me the house to myself and a chance to finish a thought before being interrupted, or being treated to his country/western radio station &/or CNN at top volume... I am constantly amazed by you gals who have a full time job &/or kids in your home and still find the time and energy to scrapbook. Usually, when I was where you are, by the time I had the kids settled for the night, I was more than ready to crash, myself. And weekends were frantic with sporting events and the housecleaning I had ignored all week. I am at a transition point right now. I have finished my Christmas album and need to clean my scraproom and store all those goodies away. That should take most of my scrappy time on Friday. On Saturday we have a funeral to attend (a neighbour in his 50's who died in a farm accident last weekend). Probably won't be scrapping again until at least Monday, maybe Tuesday. But I have the photos and a list of titles to get me started, so I should be able to jump in quickly.

If I come home and sit I'm done, I have really been trying to do as much house work on the week nights as possible vs spending my weekend cleaning. Sometimes DH is helpful, sometimes not, which just frustrates me more I think I'm going to art journal this weekend. No card making. Just create a page. I like colour. I just put down blocks of colour and outline it. then add stuff here and there. but I like just blocks of colour

My Scrap Randomness from yesterday. Why is it that while in the midst of cleaning/organizing, it always looks worse than it did to begin with. I was in the middle of cleaning an area of my scrap room that had other house area things piled into it. But as I looked around, I had things I was sorting for different areas on my craft desk, on the treadmill, on my computer chair. ugh.
Always so worth it in the end though.
