I though I would make this post monthly.
Oh what do I have to talk about..LOTS.
I have just fallen back in love with this hobby. I have been creating and just so happy. Past weekend, got together with a couple friends and made 7 cards..that is huge for me. I need 18 more cards for the year now. I have cards made up until April events.
CHA is over and got my pre orders in..Looking forward to some fun new product. I am taking a slow down in buying now because well I have a lot of stuff and I need to use it.
Also this past weekend my LSS had a 30% off sale. I stocked up on cardstock 8.5x11 kind and neenah. I recently purchased a new paper trimmer. The kind that Jennifer McGuire uses (I have a making memories one, but to those who own it know, its big and bulky and not that portable.) I have to say the new trimmer is awesome. Very happy with my purchase. (Jennifer has yet to steer me wrong in spending money).
This coming Sunday I have my reoccurring Art Journal Class. Always a fun afternoon. I learn a lot its $22 so very reasonable.
For NSD we are going to a retreat. Same place I went in October. Its not a "put on" one thought this time. Just 6-8 of us. My 2 other friends and I decided to drive up the night before so we can be there when we get the conference room in the hotel at 10 30am. Its a 4 hour drive for us, so we decided that for $50 extra in hotel it was worth it. Leaving after work on the Thursday night. Going to be a long long day but will be great. We are planning our meals out now. The place we stay at is in the middle of no where no real restaurants around except the one in the place and it was ok. So we are taking a crock pot and pre made chili , lunch stuff, breakfast stuff..etc. Plus we have gluten free person in our group of 3 so food can be challenging. Me personally, big fan of the gluten.
I have slacked on the scraproom progress and really need to focus on that. this weekend I would like to make a serious dent. I have been doing great with getting most of the house work done during week, so weekends free. DH has been in video game mode lately so works great. He's playing games I play with my hobby.
I signed up to Sandy Allnock's Copic Jump Start Class. I have downloaded all the sheets just need to print them on copic paper and figure out what to print it out with. I think I will print on regular ink jet on regular paper then run thru photocopier at work.
Hmmm I think that is all in my scrappy world for right now.

Sounds like you are well on your way to having a scrappy good year, scrappington! Only one weekend crop on my radar so far, and that is in April. My Paper Wishes order should be here next week. It is only a matter of time before I have to interrupt creating to clean my scrap room, but hoping to get a couple more days in first. I have some photos selected and a kit pulled out to use with them. Needing a little inspiration, though. Hoping the February prompt from SCT falls into my inbox soon.

I'm happy to have this thread. It's fun!
I am really excited to see new scrapbook supplies in person this Saturday. There are no LSS in my area any longer, so I've been an online shopper. I'm making a little road trip with 2 friends Saturday.

Sorry I've wanted to teach art journaling classes for some time, and I'm just curious! I have a clean-ish scrap room right now. I finished getting all the horizontal surfaces cleaned last night so I could have a ready to go work surface today. But First: My cameo would not connect last time I turned it on and tried. I checked all the plugs. Then after giving up, the computer gave me a message that the usb cable was bad. So I need to check into that and see if I can get the silly thing to work. I love my silhouette and hate to think about losing it.

Sorry I've wanted to teach art journaling classes for some time, and I'm just curious! its $22 (inclding tax), its for 1-4pm, we supply our own supplies the instructor and rest of us do share though. I forgot my gesso last time... First two classes were intro class. So working with different mediums. Rest of classes were different techniques, like glazing, this one on Sunday is making a swatch book of different backgrounds. We did a class on sprays. We have done a napkin exchange. So everyone brings in a package of fancy napkins we all trade. Class is up to 16 people. Everyone brings in magazines to share for collage items. Its a great group of ladies. But First: My cameo would not connect last time I turned it on and tried. I checked all the plugs. Then after giving up, the computer gave me a message that the usb cable was bad. So I need to check into that and see if I can get the silly thing to work. I love my silhouette and hate to think about losing it. Do you have a spare printer cable lying around to test it?

scrappington, which trimmer did you get? I have seen her recommend a couple so I am curious which one you got. I am always sure that there is a better trimmer out there for me than the one I am currently using!

YAY! I loved reading this thread last month. I was in total purge/clean zone so I only lurked. I did great in purging my paper (30plus inches) donated most of it and sold some to help out with the cost of my 3 day crop I just finished up.
I am working on cutting 60 hearts right now for our annual family "I love you because" game. Each day/night we take one and write why we love a person in the family and place it on their door. We did "Lucky to have you" last year (st pats day) and I just today took those shamrocks down! I think they liked it! It is always nice to hear why people love you and get them thinking young why they love others. Spread love not hate I say!
I have set a goal of 28 pages with some stipulations that I put in the goal thread. I want to really start stamping/dry embossing and getting out of my normal/rut of things. I love my pages but I need to use these other supplies I have. So Feb is that month. Once BMX season starts up again I won't have much time so I have to get a lot done now!
I did a pre order for SS Emoji love with a gift card I had so yay, that won't come until March though but it will be nice as I am trying to be very conscious of my spending in all areas of my life right now. Emoji love is perfect for DD9 right now so it will get used ASAP I am sure. I already have pictures printed for it!

Proper name of it is Sure Cut I'm a huge fan of my making memories one when it tried this one I was impressed. No little hook at the end. I got it from Mike's. Bought the Titanium blades.

Used some MAGIC MESH today on a bd card! Think this might be the absolute last piece of this in my stash, but I didn't take every last thing out of that drawer, so more may be hiding...

Me personally, big fan of the gluten. LOVE this! Gluten fan here also, lol! I always love this thread! Thanks for the monthly commitment. I am still trying to chisel out some time for me to be creative. Just struggling with it. I feel like I have kind of given up for now.

I started doing a mini ablum with Pink Paislee's Moonstruck collection and it feels like I've been pulling teeth to get a bit of creativity going! Ugh I hate that! Planning out some time to get some inspiration for this weekend. And keep my phone in the other room so I don't get distracted by the lure of social media.

I'm off today and squeezing in some scrappy time if it kills me! I've completed 4 8x8 December Daily pages this morning. I'm just going at it, gung-ho. Ever see on Hoarders, when they ask the hoarder keep or toss and they're supposed to make immediate decisions? Well, I'm sorta just going fast like that. Grab background. Stick down patterned paper. Stick down photos. Add journaling. Add title. Add embellishments. GO! GO! GO! No thought process. Just grabbing from my DD kit that all goes together, and making it work. I actually really like the layouts so far, and I especially like that I'm making some progress.

Also, tried out the Dollar Tree clear stamps that I bought the other day, and they stamp beautifully! As well as any pricey stamps I've ever bought.
I'm so happy I picked them up.

I have posted on a few threads that last weekend I pulled a ton of product from my stash for a project I am starting mid Feb that will likely take me until May at least for the first phase of it. Ashamedly, I placed all of it under my bed because I didn't have time to organize it and put it in a scrap bin.
I am also looking for a package of photos I know I've seen in the last month. Today on facebook one of those old statuses popped up where I posted 2 years ago that I was once again, looking for a pack of missing photos. So if I add to my organizational list, I will have to include putting my packs of photos in an accessible place!

I can wait to see all the new things in person also!! Enjoy your road trip with your friends!!

I finally realize (and accept) that I do not have to scrapbook every photo I print. WOW!! That is very liberating and I have to admit a little scary...

I was just thinking.....
I've been taking more photos of myself now (in the past two years) that I have in the past five years before.
I don't even like the way I look, but I've made the effort to capture myself, because no one else on the planet bothers to.
I noticed that there are 7 photos of me in my DD. That's a win in my book!

I actually TOUCHED scrapbook supplies in a store today! Whoo!
The closest store is 60 miles away, so I generally only buy online.

Monday 3 or 4 more totes are going to DS' old school for the kids there. I am friends with the principal and talk to her quite a bit. I need to find the empty totes that I had so I can load up some more. There has to be more somewhere or other. It's so good knowing it's going to a great cause.
I have nothing interesting to report. I am sticking to my buying diet and haven't seen anything i can't live without except Cream and Sugar from Doodlebug and I pay for that in March so there is nothing for me to buy right now. My favourite planner company has changed directions so I don't love what she is doing now. The colours aren't right for me either. Again easy to stay frozen.
I wish more art "stuff" was shown from CHA. I would love to see what new arty things are coming out this year. Did I just miss them?

my scrappy randomness revolves around photo organization. It really is a must for me because the lack of organization leads to lack of photo printing which leads to a lack of photos to scrap. So I have been on that. I also cleaned and purged my scraproom...so it is ready when I get some pics done!

LisaDV of course! Enjoy it! The kids are really into it this year! Even DS4 who can't spell but he knows most of his letters so I got some super cute pictures of him 'writing' out his to his sister! I love that it makes them more kind to one another even if only in that minute lol! So I am doing ok so far. I had a pretty bad setback on spending today but since I have been so mindful the past few months I am trying not to beat myself up on it. I am an emotional shopper for sure and that coupled with Scrapbook Generation having a crop (no time to play just yet) but they had a 20% off coupon code (PARTY20) I shopped and filled some voids in my stash. Did I NEED them ALL? No but I am excited for the fresh influx of product and am going to repent persay with ten layouts before it gets here next week. Sigh back in the freezer (maybe I should put my credit card there too!)

Well yesterday was the perfect day to work on my craft room. DH was helping out a friend. He left just before 9am and got home after 9pm. So house to myself. You know what I got done. I put my 8.5x11 paper in a new storage system that was it. Now it's still an accomplishment. It still needed to be done. But I didn't make a dent. Still was a great day and I enjoyed my alone time. (only child syndrome). Had a super long day at work on friday and I needed to recharge I guess. Today is art journal class day. Need to put together the needed supplies and leave by 12 15.
