I also pulled apart four 6x6 paper pads that only had 6-12 sheets left in them and added them to my scraps drawer after throwing away the designs I know I'll never use. Well this is working for me as I used one of those 6x6 papers last night - and I know it's one I wouldn't have chosen if it wasn't in my scraps drawer. I'm also thrilled to say I have used enough 12x12 papers that one of the two paper pads that wouldn't fit in my storage space at the start of Jan can now fit in the drawer.

That's got to feel great. I've been using up some older sale items from Elle's Studio in my 2017PL and loving them! My goal is to use ALL older supplies for PL this year, and so far so good!

Anyone want to challenge yourself to using something OLD and something NEW on a layout? That could be fun! Say some new ephemera and some thing old like an eyelet letter? That's just a suggestion. Remember this is a fun challenge to at least touch your good stuff so it has been used at least once. We are ready for some more fun!

These threads have been very inspiring for me! Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration! I don't count supplies from the past 1-2 years as "stash"...they still feel pretty new to me So I've been challenging myself to dig even deeper and I'm finding things I LOVE and never USED (so they still feel new!) I did this yesterday: Websters Pages (Alison Kreft) from 2013, Die cuts/alpha are "legacy" by Simple Stories, some ancient scraps from Amy Tan. And thickers. Love using scraps too (like the border strip...10 year old Echo Park, sitting in my collection of manufacturers strips...)

I printed some photos and made one layout yesterday. Used some Felicity Jane papers and have now almost used up the pack. I've also decided which kits to use for a few more layouts

Counter productive to this thread: I'm glad that the price of Felicity Jane keeps me away (Canada...shipping/currency) because every time I see people using it I want to subscribe to the kit

I used some pretty old HOTP pp today on a couple of pages. It is the thin one sided stuff that used to come in their kits: folded into kind of booklets so the pages can be easily torn apart. I thought it was too flimsy to stand up as a background, so I pulled out a couple of sheets of "ugly" cs (Colours I don't really like or don't see myself using anywhere else) from my stash and used that as an unseen background for it.
So win/win: used 3 sheets of cs (2 invisible behind the pp, and one for matting), 3 sheets of old pp, some at least two year old letter stickers, and a bunch of diecuts and scraps. The only remotely new items were the diecuts from a Christmas line I purchased last fall. But as I have said before, using some of the diecuts is a big deal for me, because I have a notoriously large stash of them. And. Yet. I. Continue. To. Purchase. Them...

I redid a page I wasn't happy with. I used paper scraps, enamel dots and a very old die cut from Crate Paper. I am much happier with this one.

I had a really productive weekend and I'm delighted to report that I completed 5 LOs and another three pocket pages (with matted photos in each of the pockets to use up paper). I made a dent in some really specific nautical and travel paper, so I am thrilled to have that done. I even used some decorative brads that I always buy but love to save in my stash. That said, I also had a really productive shopping weekend, and I probably bought enough paper to make another 42 layouts. And I wonder why my stash keeps growing I really must lock myself at home and force myself to use up some more of my paper.

Used 2 more ugly cs sheets behind some prettier light weight pp today. Also used some diecuts I bought after Christmas last year on sale. Never did use them on cards as I had intended, but did get a few of them onto some pages today.
Will be stowing away my Christmas.supplies by Friday. I wonder after making over 100 Christmas cards and at least 40 Christmas pages if I can store it all back where it exploded out of...? ( you see, I also added a few collections and supplies over the past few months)

I'm using more of that PP C'est La Vie that I love so much. Yesterday I used some PP Memorandum.
I'm trying to scrap as much as possible before I start working again or the weather turns hot. Either one will put a stop to any scrapping progress.

I am taking the day off work tomorrow and am going to have a play with some watercolours, distress inks and stamps. Not sure if I will actually make anything with what I do but I just want to have a day playing and experimenting with some different techniques and products.

Not sure if I will actually make anything with what I do but I just want to have a day playing and experimenting with some different techniques and products. That sounds like FUN! I find that a day like that not only rekindles the creativity, but also gives me elements to add to cards and pages and journals for a long time: Win win WIN!

Today I finished 3 pages. My claim to fame is, on this page I used: *some happy Christmas paper I really love but was scared to use because it was so bright and full of icons. Ended up using it as my base. *a card front I created at a crop a year ago October and never actually got onto a card. *some red bling that has been in my stash forever and I finally found just the place for some of them. They don't show up very well in the photo of my page, but they are a lovely deep red. *a random Christmas stocking button I got as part of a kit this last November. *gold embossed elements from a HOTP sheet of them. I am down from a whole 12x12 sheet of them to a small zip lock bag. *a sheet of cardstock and part of a sheet of pp which I also used parts of on the facing page. joy & peace by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

looks great grammadee - you managed to use a lot of stash on that page but it doesn't look cluttered/busy at all - the photos still take centre stage!

I've made 21 pages this month. Yesterday I made three layouts. I used 2 brown cardstock and a patterned paper I bought specifically in January for this page. I used some Hot Off the Press layered die cuts grammadee gave me for Christmas. I used a gold Heidi Swapp alpha and some gears, clock hands, and butterflies I had left over from my steampunk costume. Layout A Day has got me using stash like crazy.

I've made 21 pages this month. Great job! I used up the last phrases I like from two separate 7Gypsies 97% complete sticker sheets, and tossed the last couple of sticker I know I won't use into the bin. It's only a small victory but every little bit counts.

I used some Colour Infusions "memory thread" today on a LO with some CTMH cs from a couple of years ago and some brand new ep birthday paper. The memory thread is like wired twine, so you can spiral the ends after tying it. I think I bought every colour they had when it first came out. Needless to say, I still have several little spools of it.
