Hi Scrappers, Stampers, Planners and Art Journalers or whatever your passion is! Welcome to our February thread. This month again we are going to talk products we are using.
We all have "stuff" in our stashes that is gathering dust, cobwebs or what have you. What would you like to use up this month? Do you have any supplies you are too scared to use? This challenge is for YOU! Imagine you bought Twinkling H2Os like I did. I think I have about 200 or more. Well this month I am challenging everyone to play with those products that you have never used or haven't used in a while.
If that doesn't work for you, use your new stuff, old stuff, ancient Making Memories letter stickers or whatever you have in your stash. There are no rules to this challenge. We have to get value for our stash and this is how to do it.
When you have done your layout post it or describe it to us and what products you used to make it with. You can list the exact paper or colour paint or just general terms like "red acrylic paint". It doesn't matter. All we want to do is use that stuff!
Let's get to it everyone! Happy Feb 1st!
Elannah

Ready for some stash busting! Today I used a good part of a SB kit, a page of watercolour paper, some mists, and some magic mesh.

This is the easiest challenge. Make it as easy as you need to, too. Use your stash and account for it. (Then BUY NEW/MORE!!!)

I feel like it's been forever since I've had some good scrap time. I really want to buy some of Shimelle's new stuff but I keep looking at all I currently have. I don't need to buy it...yet. I think it's time to use some Glimmer Mist, Echo Park, and buttons. Time to use my supplies! Bust that stash! Woohoo!
(I'm saying all this at 5:08 in the morning while I drink my tea before heading off to school to teach third graders. I hope I have this much energy when I get home and have time to scrap. Lol)

I have been collecting historical looking stuff for about 10 plus years and I pulled a good deal of it for my next project - scrapping reenactment/living history pictures. I will try to come and post a layout when I start, which I plan to do at a retreat in mid Feb. I have quite a bit of Anna Griffin 8.5x11 paper in this stash and Griff's word diecuts.

Well this month I am challenging everyone to play with those products that you have never used or haven't used in a while. This is me. I have those Twinkling H2Os. I was just thinking about pulling them out to try some brush lettering. I saw a video of Shimelle making a title with watercolor paint and it was really nice. A couple years ago I organized all my Twinkling H2Os and made a label for every jar and put them in color groups, but never quite got around to using them. Now is the time!

A picture-less page but a layout nevertheless
"2017" (title page) - 1 page layout - DCWV Pocket Blossums, white and purple cardstock, white chipboard letters, and I used my 2" circle punch
and another one - with photos (5 of them)
"Right on Track" - 2-page layout - Echo Park Scoot (pattern paper and stickers), yellow and orange cardstock, and I used my QK photo corner die (after a grand hunt for it - it was mis-placed) - I used a sketch from the Best of BH sketches book.
and a third (5 photos again)
"Splash!" - 2-page layout - the last scrap of a pretty white paper with yellow/blue/green flowers, cardstock (yellow, blue, green, white), a clear quote sticker, QK Studio Classic alpha dies, my 2" circle punch and another sketch from the Best of BH Sketches book.

I've been using the kit that I put together to make my DD with.
Used up two of the sticker sheets so far.
Been using the chipboard letters.
Going willy nilly with the 6x6 patterned paper pad.
Broke out the sequins, used some.
Have used some of the holly leaves and berries confetti & some of the snowflakes confetti that I had bought especially for DD. Good thing it was only $1/package. I will never be able to use all of it.
Used Stickles and Nuvo drops.
It's frustrating when I don't see a noticeable dent in my supplies, even though I know I'm using them. But it's good when I see my DD getting slowly completed.

No noticeable dent here either [although it probably didn't help that I bought a 48-sheet paper pack and a 48-sheet cardstock pack at the end of January]

another layout done! No photos on this one- just journalling and a note DD(10) wrote me
"Storks" - 1-page layout - pink, blue, and white cardstock, printed clip-art, QK heart die
And one with two photos
"Turkeys" - 1-page layout - brown and goldenrod cardstock, a diagonally striped white/brown/goldenrod paper, Echo Park Reflections Fall stickers, Deja Vu clear word stickers and another sketch from the Best of BH sketches book (only used side 1 of the sketch)
Just one photo for this next one
"A Honour Roll" - 1-page layout - blue and yellow cardstock, the last scraps of some school themed paper, Paper Studio 4th grade stickers
And another one with 4 photos
"Milk and Cookies" - 2-page layout - b/w check paper (Paper Studios), red and white cardstock, CADD page topper (wow - that was deep in the stash...probably 15+ years old), Jolees baking stickers, and another sketch from the Best of BH sketches book
Managed to squeeze four photos plus journalling onto this one
"Young Writers" - 1 page layout - Paper Studios Vintage Nation paper, red and white cardstock, red brads, red enamel dots

I tried to get people to use UP their supplies, too, but we all have so much that it's just to at least "touch" each thing we have bought.

This is also you can replace it if you use it up challenge. You can buy new if YOU USE IT challenge. Nothing goes into stash. It has to be on a recent layout from this month.

I mean popdots go on every shopping list and every no-spending challenge as an need. But this you can replace if you so wish to. It's to use your stash and take inventory of the stuff that is getting used and some stuff you get to say good-bye to. Michaels might have a decent coupon this weekend, too. Go see ok?

I'm trying to dig into my stash and use up some of the older stuff. This weekend I've used a Fancy Pants rub on, two flat wood veneer cards, and three little flags on sticks.
I also pulled apart four 6x6 paper pads that only had 6-12 sheets left in them and added them to my scraps drawer after throwing away the designs I know I'll never use.

I have some 8x8 paper I need to deal with. I love it as it's all October Afternoon but I was going to scrap on 12x12 paper. The designs might be too small. I love the embellishments.

hi, I am kind of new to this side of the board, and found this thread. Just last night I was telling myself that it felt good to finally use some of the stuff I bought. I have recently gotten addicted to mixed media and have acquired SO many stencils, and also have gotten quite a lot of steel dies, as well (you know, because my cricut and cameo are just not enough, LOL). I used 2 stencils that I hadn't used before, a die that was NIP, cracked open 2 pots of paint that were sealed, and used several colors of Lindy's sprays that I actually just got the day before. Oh, used one of my gelatos in a color that I hadn't. I made a card, 2 pages in my art journal, and colored the background of an unfinished art journal page. Also, I "used" a couple of ideas that I had "pinned", as well, and that felt very good! I seem to be as much of an electronic hoarder as I am physical.

You use what you have. You can still buy more but you have to use your stash and account for it in the thread. I didn't say people couldn't still shop because life happens. I just want sister Peas to see that they are using supplies. You won't use up your acrylic paint stamping a title but you will at least use it. That is the hope anyway. and it is to make you feel good you are at least using your stash.

Guess I have done some stash busting here. More and more of my Christmas stash is finding its way into the light of day... *I used some pretty old pp last night to start this page; Little Yellow Bicycle has not been around for a couple of years. And I added some HOTP gold stickers from a year or 2 ago that seemed to match. *Also used photo frame from one of this year's BB collections. I always think I need the add on diecuts for a collection, and then barely use them, so it was a WIN to put at least one of them on a page! *I also used some "real" ephemera--the decoration from one of my 2015 Christmas gifts. I am always squirrelling away pretty bits thinking I can use them in the future, but then they just live in my stash, so I am happy I got to use one little piece. christmas past by Gramma Dee, on Flickr *Not really old enough to be stash, but on the facing page I used a piece of BB pp (the outline Santa) I had carefully cut from one side of a sheet of BB pp before cutting up the other side to use on another page. Those carefully cut out pieces often join the other bits & bobs in my stash, but I USED this one! (Along with a couple more of those diecuts/PL cards. Yay, me!!!) I'm redoing a layout from when my DD was a month old. Since I'm scrapping teens these days I don't buy baby themed supplies anymore. I knew I had some things in the dankest parts of my stash that would work. I found some Daisy D's Lullaby collection and BG Oh Baby! Girl from ancient times. I love how it's coming along.
