I’m finally getting around to scrapbooking photos of my puppy (yes he is now 2). I decided to do PL style for him just to do something different. I thought PL would be a great way to document his training. Anyway, for people doing 8 ½ x 11 project life, where do you get your 4x6 cards? Do you buy them in kits, trade them with others or make them yourself?
I noticed I have a lot of 3x4 cards but not very many 4x6 cards.

I don't do that size (traditional cards won't fit as they are in pockets on letter size page protectors) but I find that I'm low on 4x6 compared to 3x4, especially in my kit clubs. With Elle's Studio, she often has retail collections that coordinate with her kits that come out during that release (and she uses the same colors pretty consistently, so it's easy to stash dive, too), so I use the 6x6 papers and cut them down to 4x6. If I'm using 3x4 cards from other sources, I'll find 6x6 paper pads from my stash that have colors that coordinate with the cards I'm using.

Great, sounds like I was thinking in the right direction I was thinking of using my 6x6 pads to make some. Thank you!

All of the PL style kits I have ever bought had both 4x6 and 3x4 cards included.

For my 8 1/2 x 11 pages I use a lot more 4x6 then 3x4 I think I have enough 3x4 cards for several years Because most people (in the minds of designers) use 4x6 photos and need fillers for 3x4 pockets. However, because I photograph with PL in mind, I tend to take vertical pictures more than horizontal because I want to make sure I have enough to disperse well on a Design A page protector. So, I am often using 3x4 vertical pictures in my 4x6 pockets and need something behind the photo. I've even become so photo heavy and indecisive that I will collage 4 horizontal photos onto a single 4x6 so every week isn't 3,242,523,598,234 pages long, lol.

Your cards are beautiful Patter! I was at a crop yesterday and was able to make a couple cards that I like. I have been using the two different Paper Studio page protectors you show. I will add the other configuration to my list I sat down and sketched out some journaling cards and journaling for a couple of pages today. So that feels better. These are my first PL pages, but I think I might be getting the hang of it. It's only taken me two different crops to complete 3 pages Oh and I found a stash of 4x6 cards today

Agh, thank you gmcwife1. I scan my art, print, and make things from it so I get a lot of use out of what I create.
