So Monday my Vagabond began making strange noises, but it still worked, and I limped along with it for a few diecuts and embossed pieces this week. Then this morning it literally ground to a halt. I had to use my Cuttlebug C plate as a chisel with a hammer to get the sandwich out of its jaws. I then finished my project with my Cuttlebug
***This is why I never throw anything away!!!***
Then I called Sizzix. I wasn't very hopeful, but I was told to "Just send it to us and we will replace it with a Vagabond II" I guess the newer model has a fail safe system so it doesn't jam or break when something too thick is fed into it. She has already emailed me the FedEx mailing label.
Went downstairs and located the original shipping box. I was really happy to hear I didn't need to supply the original receipt. I may not ever throw anything away, but FINDING stuff is another matter!
Now I just need to wait for my replacement. And use my trusty Cuttlebug in the mean time.

It's awesome when companies stand behind their products! Especially when (technically) it was your fault.
I read this HILARIOUS review circulating the web...last year, maybe? It was about one of those iRobot (maybe another brand...too busy laughing and simultaneously feeling terrible for the guy to remember every detail) type vacuum things that run on a timer. The guy woke up to find his entire downstairs covered in poop...apparently his dog had gotten sick overnight before the timed start of the vacuum and when it went about it's business during it's scheduled time, it rode through the poop and smeared it EVERYWHERE. The guy discovered it and spent hours trying to clean up the mess and somehow at the end of it all, had the bright idea to give the vacuum a bath where it died a 'whirring death' or something like that. He called the company and they replaced it, even though him submerging the thing in water as a last ditch effort to save it was the primary cause of death. It speaks volumes about a company willing to go that extra mile for it's customers even though nowhere does it say that it's required. Down the line, it adds to their bottom line because customers are more willing to support businesses that back their products and do right (and then some) by their customers.

That's great. I'm glad they're doing right by you. I recently had a five year old Epson printer explode yellow ink all over inside. Turned out it was a known issue, so when I called about it they sent out a call tag for it and they replaced it for free with a new one a model year newer even though it was long out of warranty. I was pretty happy about that since a previous wide format Epson that I owned had a similar problem. When I asked them what I could do about it at a trade show, they replied, "Buy a new printer?" How about NO, it was five hundred bucks!

Whenever I hear a story like this it makes me determined to put that company on my first choice shopping list. I like their products anyway but with so much poor CS out there these days I trybto reward the good ones.
