Been Scrapping but nothing seems to flow or seem right, do you start over or walk away. Being hard on myself today lol. What do you do when nothing seems to work right?

Yes, and I just walk away. The only other thing I would do is pick a photo or two that I look at and know what I am going to use with those photos and sit down with just those items in front of me, place things, then get up and walk away, come back, tweak it and glue it down.

I walk away for a while. I have been known to throw away in progress layouts that aren't coming together.

I walk away. But I have to say I had this one layout that was probably 80% complete, but was just not coming together. It sat in a pile for probably a year just taunting me. Part of me wanted to just journal, stick it in an album and call it good enough, but the other part of me was just not liking it. Anyway, the other day I just ripped it apart and started all over and I'm so happy with the final results. I can't do that with every layout, but there are those layouts that will just bug you and this was one of those.
ETA: I ended up using mostly the same paper, but just less of it and changed the design.

Add a strip of washi or a tag, maybe enamel dots or wood veneer, then walk away. (These are my new go-to. The old one was flowers and brads.) Come back to it later if you want, or just forget about it and move on.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll play later. I was rushing myself I have been super stressed lately and forcing myself to create in hopes of feeling better ...that doesn't work well. I managed to pull together some that I like...it's always just that one...lol

Happens often. I tend to just walk away. Often after a break I will come back with that one tweak that will "fix" the page for me. Sometimes, but not often, I will go on to another project, but if I leave something for too long I kind of lose interest, so that doesn't always work well for me.
Scrapping when I am tired or feeling down does not work well for me, either. Those are the times I troll the Galleries and Pinterest, but while I may find ideas I like, they seldom work out for me unless I start on them when I am feeling more rested.

I walk away also, find something else that inspires me to play with it like jewelry making, knit or crochet, or even just making cards. What's the point if it's not fun? I hope you're able to find something to work in to take your mind off of it!
eta: I often will do a complete clean of my craft supplies or find new ways to organize something that needs a tweak.

Thank you for the support. I definitely feel stressed and not well rested(even though I slept well last night). I was forcing myself to use stuff (from the FP mystery box) that I really didnt like at all. I decided to start over. I started pulling papers and stuff that I love.I also browsed Pinterest. (THanks Grammadee!) Although I am too tired tonight, I feel better about it. This was for my LO Selfie Love that I posted in the flickr gallery. It is such a sweet photo, it definitely needs some journaling as well(something that can wait until tomorrow). I just felt like I wasnt doing the photo justice. I'm happy to have identified what was bothering me about it! Thanks again ladies I definitely feel better.

I walk away and go do something that I enjoy.
Reading a book I'm into, or watching a show I love usually put me in a better mood. Then when I come back to it, I often have fresh eyes, and can make it work better.

I walk away. And I NEVER use stuff I don't like, whether it is a mystery box, a gift, or whatever. Only stuff I love goes into the books about the people and places I love. (Just my personal philosophy). So, if you're not feeling creative and are overly stressed, set it aside and come back to it later when inspiration hits you and you "just know" what your finished LO will look like. Set it aside: no regrets and no guilt.

I've torn a page apart and started over. It's just not worth the frustration some times!

I walk away and go back later or the next day. I do not glue anything down until I am happy with it so sometimes I have to go completely back and pick new background paper or whatever.

I think it is fun to challenge yourself to use certain products or techniques that you don't usually do. Some of my favourite pages are from such challenges......but if you don't like the product then you will never like the page. I would cut my losses and start over.

Sometimes if I'm stuck on a page and can't seem to make it work I take a photo of it with my phone. While looking at the photo, the glitch is sometimes so obvious to me...like the colors look horrible together, the photo is in the wrong place, the title seems to be floating, etc. It is surprising how helpful this one little trick has been for me.

Sometimes I walk away for a while. But if I have a deadline for a gift album I'll look through a few of my CTMH books for ideas. I have also looked in Google images and found just that little something that makes the layout come together.

This is what I do as well. Somehow the photo makes it easy to find what just isn't working in the ending stages. At the beginning stages, though, if I'm not inspired and have tried Pinterest, sketches, etc then I just walk away and try another day. If the story/product match isn't coming easy, I don't torture myself to make it work.

I walk away. I used to force myself to sit and finish something but then I realized that forcing it wasn't making me happy AND my logic of losing my train of thought didn't make any sense (because if it wasn't working, it wasn't a train of thought worth hanging onto). I've discovered that a breather is best. Knowing it's there, though, means that I'm keeping the thought of it in the back of my head. They say we solve problems better with our subconscious mind, anyway. I can't tell you how many math test problems I'd solve as I fell asleep at night that I knew I knew but couldn't figure out DURING the test (my fave subject, so it always bothered me when I couldn't solve a problem).
Same principles as finishing a paper for school and walking away from it for a few days before reevaluating. It is no longer fresh and will feel new when you return to it. You'll see mistakes that you didn't before and possibly realize you missed points you intended to make.

I do this too! But usually after I've taken a break. I won't see anything if I'm frustrated in the first place. It's amazing how those tiny photos help clue you in.

My mistake is pushing through when I don't like how it's going. I think it can be hard to save it at that point. At least for me. The layout usually improves if I take a break from it or go look for some inspiration.

I get the same result by standing up and looking down at my page (I scrap sitting down). Sometimes it's just the different perspective that makes all the difference.

Since I'm creatively challenged, this scenario is a frequent occurrence. After verbally expressing my frustration, I completely clear the surface of my project table. I take a break, sit in my comfy chair in the corner, & gaze out the window. I walk around the entire table (situated in the middle of the room) to get a 360 degree view of the page. I I identify the issue & decide on a resolution, which sometimes means dismantling (note I don't adhere until satisfied with the page) & starting over.
