Also, Amy Tangerine and Shimelle have a nearly identical sheet of paper in their new collections. I'd link except I don't know how, but they both have a sheet with a light blue background and raindrops. The raindrops are slightly different colors, and Shimelle's has more raindrops, but seriously--they are super similar. I think it just happens sometimes. If they hadn't come out at the same time, you would think one was a copy of the other. I wonder if the actual AC graphic designer created both of those papers.

I am probably going to say something that is not very nice but nothing Liz Kartchner does is original to me and every thing that has her name on it looks exactly the same as the previous. Her IG feed rubbed me the wrong way to the point that I quit following her a long time ago. Who lives every day in a perfect world, a perfect house, perfect clothes and who is constantly promoting herself and her family with perfect photos. I thought she was a scrapbook designer? I don't know. It's odd to me and doesn't interest me in the least lol. I feel that about all of the AC designers. Too bad that AC dominates this industry in such a big way.I unfollowed Amy tangerine and maggie holmes along with dear lizzy for the very same reason. SaveSaveThe only one I do not feel this way about (off the top of my head) is Shimelle. She has scrapped (and shared) about difficult personal things in her life, in particular, the difficulty she had getting pregnant. She scraps imperfect pictures (thank you!) and her entire life doesn't look like a commercial for Ethan Allen. In a way, I understand the designers want to present themselves a certain way, and in general no one wants to show the public their not-so-perfect side, but I think with some of these people it gets to be a bit Stepford-ish. I just remind myself that my life is my life and in no way resembles anyone else's, but it is MINE and authentic. Everything these days is photoshopped and sanitized to the point that super models are coming out saying " I don't even look like that!" about their own pictures. So remember, be true to yourself, don't compare yourself to people who probably aren't really even like that anyway. It is just a persona for the purposes of selling products. Not every day is "The BEST day EVER!" which is okay. RE: the houses paper...you guys have made me think quite a lot! There is probably an original influence at play here...the Scandanavian folk art. I was unaware this even existed And to add to the list of house papers...! had a similar one from "My little Shoebox" remember them?! And speaking of fabrics...I have this skirt (by Australian retro brand Kitten D'amour) and everytime I wear it my daughter says it looks like scrapbooking paper: Save

impearia that is the cutest skirt. I love it to pieces. About the perfection designers. Don't follow them. You know all the toxic relationships we all need to avoid. That goes for the toxic scrapbook designer purchases too. When those ladies do that it is not marketing it is one upping. You know those ladies are hot messes behind closed doors. I grew up with a big name in the crafting industry. Trust me she was Miss Perfect made everyone feel bad. She was a mess behind closed doors and abusive too for those who were closest to her. Having to grow up around that I see the patterns. We all are a gossipy bunch when the stories come out on the ugly none of us are ever surprised. I want to make a trip up to Michael's. I don't live close to it so it is a trip. I keep thinking the things I want are going to be the same design somewhere else and it will be cuter and cheaper. I just have to be patient. One of the lines I want the artist & I have the same style. I adore her work but I know I will buy everything in the line and then go draw my own versions. Going to put my money into new drawing supplies.

@amayalylac Thank you! I do too. Whenever I wan to stop purchasing scrap supplies, I tell myself I can save up for another Kitten dress!
Very interesting, about your insider knowledge. A Public personna is just that...a personna. You never know who these people truly are from the outside.
