I need something better to clean the ceramic tile walls in my shower. What do you use?
Thanks

Blue dawn and white vinegar! Warm vinegar a bit in the microwave, add blue dawn, I do 2 parts vinegar to 1 part blue dawn. Shake, spray on tile, let sit about 15-30 min, wash off. Amazing

What is on them? Hard water, soap scum, mildew?
I have a scrubby dish wand that is filled half and half with white vinegar and Dawn dish soap. I scrub down the walls and doors when I'm in there, rinse them off and call it good. Since we have decent ventilation in there, we don't have a lot of issues with mildew so I don't have that to deal with, just hard water and soap residue.

I use the vinegar with Dawn, but I dilute it with water. 1 part Dawn, 1 part vinegar, 2 parts water. I use a Dobie scrubber that is designated for bathroom use only. I squirt some of the Dawn/vinegar/water onto the scrubber and scrub away. I clean the shower when I'm in there taking a shower, that way I don't have to worry about getting wet.

The dawn and vinegar works well. I eventually switched over and just started using Kaboom because it was more convenient. What I've found is that no matter what you use, the importance is the frequency and some manual scrubbing. Soap scum in the shower and especially on the door is my total pet peeve, so at least once a week, usually twice, I spray it down before I get in and I keep a hard bristled scrub brush in the shower so I don't have to go hunting for supplies. Sometimes I forget to spray it down and I just use shampoo, and it works fine - it's honestly more about the frequency and the scrubbing than the product.
Other things that make it easier are a removable shower head wand, and if you are willing, a quick squeegee down after the shower. DH won't squeegee, but he will rinse down the door with the shower head most of the times. He uses bar soap which I hear is more scum prone than liquid wash.

The issue for us is hard water and soap residue.
Thanks for the suggestions, ladies. I'll try out this weekend!

I have a new shower with pre-sealed grout. They instructed me NOT to use bleach or vinegar, or I'd have to seal the grout.
Just an FYI!

Once you get the door and walls clean spray them with Rain-X shower door repellent. You can get it on Amazon. Great for preventing spotting and soap scum buildup. It also helps to use a squeegee after every shower.

For me, the blue dawn and vinegar mix dis not work at all!
I use scrubbing bubbles and a magic eraser for basic cleaning and scum. When there is hard water or mildew, I use Lime Away. Both work exceptionally well and I have to use minimal scrubbing.
The blue dawn vinegar mix took forever to rinse off and left streaks too.

I agree, Dawngar never worked for me either and the smell was awful so be sure to open windows when you are doing this OP and the streaks are horrible. Waste of time for me.

I bought that Hurricane Spin Scrubber. It is AWESOME! I use that with Kaboom and my bathroom sparkles.

I recently bought a Black & Decker Power Scrubber because we have a big ass tile shower and my shoulders are bad. I got different little bristle scrub heads for it. I now use Norwex paste or UPP as a cleaning product with the scrubber and use the Norwex Envirocloth's for wiping down and getting in the corners really well. Still one of my most hated jobs. They need to invent a shower that will clean itself. Grout is the devil!

Home Depot and Lowes sell a line of products from Zep. I could become a spokesperson for them at this point! I used their products last year on bathrooms at my in laws house we were renovating to sell and my nephew' newly purchased 20 yr old home. Both had years of buildup on the walls and tub. One was a fiberglass insert, the other was porcelain tub and ceramic tile. Zep is heavy duty, and smells strong so you need to keep a window open. Spray on, let sit for ten minutes and scrub. I used scrub brush and/or Magic erasers. I had to repeat the process many times to get them clean, but I'm talking YEARS of buildup. Barkeepers Friend also works great on porcelain and stainless fixtures. I use the powder. Zep tub cleaner Their grout whitener is also awesome. You can see the reaction happening. The grout I used it on needed repair/recoloring in spots from years of deterioration, but people couldn't believe the after results I got with these two products. I've tried the vinegar/dawn on my fiberglass inserts and it works okay for the low traffic shower, but it wouldn't remove buildup on the ones used daily. It's good for maintainance between Zep deep-cleanings in my home though since we clean them regularly.
