Twice in my scrapping life, I've had to sell scrappy things because I was in an extremely tight financial position.
I've sold dies, stamps, tools, etc.
There are things I still miss.
Yesterday I found one foam stamp alphabet I still have, and it reminded me of the MM foam stamps that were all filigree and corner stamps. I wish I still had those.
I also miss the one set of alphabet dies I had. At some point, I might go and buy myself another alpha die set. I just have to figure out which one I'd want. I'm thinking a thicker, chunkier letter.
I had several of the QK state & country dies, and had sold them. I miss them because they were all states & countries that I had been to.
So, what do you regret purging or selling?

I had a great stack of vellum, colors, patterns, all kinds! Wasn't using it, so it was purged. I could really use that now for layering!!!

I got rid of an old Graphix 45 botanical stamp set that I wish I had kept. But that's about it.

I've never purged anything that I regret (I'm not much of a purger) but I have taken apart kits that I later regretted taking apart into pieces. These were kits that either came from a kit club or from a class. But I mostly regret taking them apart because it makes it more difficult to find things in my stash, or to know why I have a certain product because I forget what it went with.

I got rid of a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp set that had dots, scratches, diamond shape, sunburst + others. At the time I didn't do any type of mixed media on my layouts so I never used them. Silly, silly me. Now, I can think of all kinds of layouts where those stamps would have come in handy to give my page that finishing touch. Oh well....

That is why I never purge. Everything old becomes new again (or can be re-purposed or revised, like to use for layering)

I used to sell off unwanted stuff, mostly paper and stickers at scrapbook yard sales I would run with my girlfriend. I cannot think of anything I sold off or gave away that I regret, and for me that's probably a good thing because I would start obsessing about it.
But now that I am thinking about it I think I might come back and post something that comes to mind.

I've always been really slow to purge stuff, so by the time I actually do get rid of something I'm really ready for it to go. I usually think long and hard before dumping something and try to consider every possible reason for keeping it. If I can't think of any logical reason to keep it, out it eventually goes.

The other reason I don't purge is that my dd is a 2nd grade teacher, and fortunately second graders don't keep up on the latest scrapbook trends so she is always grateful for anything I want to part with, either for room decorations or student projects.

Absolutely nothing at all! When I'm ready to give something up, I know it's because I will never use it.

I gave away one of those twirly/spinner things that you hang embellishments on (oh my, my memory is going...). It was just too fussy for me to use. I'm more of a plop-all-the-embellishments-in-a-basket type girl. Anyway, over the last year or so I've gotten in to more of the mixed media, Tim Holtz, messy type projects and I'm realizing that that twirly/spinner thing would have been perfect to hang wet tags, etc., on to dry. Oh well.... Edited to add: "Clip-It-Up". See, my memory is going but it comes back just as quickly...

deekaye twirly/spinner thing - LOL! I just donated a ton of old wood mount stamps including a CTMH sea life set. Last week I saw a cute card using similar type stamps and thought "oh! I could do that! gah! but I got rid of those stamps" Then I remembered that those stamps sat unloved for 8+ years so I got over myself because I'm really enjoying my organized, less supplied craft room.

Sometimes I still wish I had my original Cricut. I used SCAL with it. The only other thing is my little red sizzix tool. I don't know why I got rid of it, it didn't take up much space. But that is the only things I can think of that I regret purging. I can't even remember all the stuff I purged!
Oh, and I love my foam stamps! I even look for new ones. They are great to use in art journals.

The thought of purging makes me anxious so I just don't purge lol. I don't either, very often. And have not missed what I finally decided to give away. What I WISH is that I could FIND the stuff I didn't purge!

That is why I never purge. Everything old becomes new again (or can be re-purposed or revised, like to use for layering) I purged once, a long time ago. It was stuff I bought before I found my style or really even knew anything about scrapbooking. I have a big stash now but I have room for everything and am surprised frequently when I find just what I need among some very old, out of style stuff.

Darice has almost identical clips to the Clip-it-up clips, just a longer hook and it is twisted the other way but easily fixed with pliers. You can get them at Walmart.com and Joanns.com. They are called Darice Jewelry Designer Dangler clips. You can hang them on anything OR if they are still available, the revolving (spinning) shoe rack at Walmart and other places. I bought mine cheap at a yard sale. Darice dangler clips at Walmart website

I wish I still had my old Sizzix alphabet dies. Lollipop and Fun Serif
I know they aren't very "on trend", but sometimes I have the perfect pages for them.

I've thought about converting my wooden stamps to cling stamps because the wooden ones just sit unused. I don't think I'd do all of them just the ones I still look at and think, "I really should use this" as I put it back on the shelf. SaveSave

It's essentially just a skinny, short curtain rod that can be screwed onto the wall. I think this might be more useful that the clip it up if you have the wall room for it. I got the hooks super-cheap at Michaels when they were having a craft storage sale. I couldn't believe how much cheaper they were than the old clip it up hooks!! SaveSaveSaveSave

And you are right, Darice clips are MUCH cheaper. I use them on my shoe rack and I have other things I use them on including a long pegboard hook.

The only thing I regret giving away is my qk hand tool and alpha. Would be great not to have to sit at a computer to cut out titles..but in reality I probably wouldn't use it all that much

I've purged a lot of stuff over the years and I've only regretted a few things.
The deluxe cut templates and idea book ugh wth was I thinking! When I look back at layouts done with those templates I loved them.
I had some templates that made little elfs and stocking you paper pieced them.

I can't really think of anything that I regret, most of the stuff that I have purged was either really early days stuff or things that I was given. I can think of quite a few things that I regret spending my money on though
