I saw some on a Facebook group the other day that were cute and decided to get them. But when I put them on I feel really self-conscious. I think it is just because I'm not used to wearing a pattern. I need some pics as inspiration and some ideas of what to wear with them so I don't feel like one giant walking pattern. I have a black cardigan but it doesn't seem quite long enough with these. Lol. Here they are:

I only wear them with long solid tunic length tops and pretty much just around the house. Like you, I don't feel comfortable in them in public.

Mine are mostly other brands, but I do love my patterned leggings. I wear them with a solid tunic that comes to mid-thigh and a long lightweight cardigan. Duster length. Or a longer tunic that's more like a dress, without the cardigan.

I can't wear the LuLuRoe ones, they are too short on me... but I am not comfortable yet wearing leggings outside the home, although I do have a pair of workout pants that are like leggings...and a long sweatshirt, so what is the difference? lol..
I might try to find some of those leggings that the peas buy on Amazon and try those with a LONGGGGG top... lol
I do like that pattern!!!

I don't wear leggings that often but am ok with them if I am wearing a longish top. Although I will wear workout leggings with a shorter top. lol. But for some reason the pattern is throwing me off. I thought it would be better than solid leggings since they are more forgiving in regards to lumps and bumps. Maybe I just need to wear them at home for awhile and get used to them.

I just bought a pair and a tunic top, but I agree, I tend to think they are inside pants only.
Having said that, I like the photos my LLR gal posts with a long top and boots

I think Merge looks fabulous, and I don't see any reason why you couldn't wear patterned leggings with a solid top out in public. The scarf makes it look dressier too. Long boots would break up the pattern even more, you wouldn't be able to see much of the pattern at all, you could ease your way into public that way! I can't get Lularoe here, I am dying to try some leggings.

I wear mine with the LLR Irma tunic or the Perfect T and I love 'em! I'm a senior lady and there's no way you could have told me I'd ever be wearing leggings at my age! However, once I caved, there's no going back. They're so comfy and the tops really do cover a multitude of sins... nice tush coverage, the Irma comes down to about mid-thigh on me. Some of the patterns are seriously butt ugly, but there are a lot of nice ones too. I wore my valentine ones yesterday with a PT, and the other pic is with an Irma. You could also wear them under a cute shorter, solid color dress. ETA: workingclassdog - have you tried the Tall & Curvy size? I've got some long-ass legs and they fit me fine with room to spare - I'm about 5' 7" Attachments:

I'm really short so tunics usually make me look like I'm drowning (and pregnant). Tall boots that fit are hard to find as well. I was just looking in my closet and I do have a cream colored cardigan that might be long enough. Just need to find a longer shirt to wear underneath.

I have to wear mine with boots and a long sweater. This minimizes the pattern "real estate" and it doesn't seem overwhelming. That said, I adore patterns - I have no problem wearing out and about but at work I feel a little funny even in more subdued ones (my workplace is fairly casual). I wore valentine leggings yesterday and received a few compliments on them.

I usually wear mine with longer tunic tops and boots. Occasionally I'll wear flats or converse with them.

I just can't do those patterns... I used to say the same. Then I got a pair. I will not admit to what I have now, but I will say my attitude has switched and now I feel really strange in plain colored leggings i wear them with the perfect t's. I usually wear them around the house but I have been known to do errands. I throw one of my long Sarah's on top of it and off I go. Right now I'm wearing them under mY maxi skirts for orientation at work. Much better than nylons or going without nylons. And I've been pleasantly surprised that I'm not overly hot with the extra layer.

That angle totally distorted my face and my husband thinks I'm crazy but this is today. Still casual but I did a pink cami, black tunic and black sweater with Valentine's leggings and ankle boots today.

I wear them with an Irma, or other long tunic that goes to about mid thigh. I actually just went clothes shopping today, and found several cute shirts at Maurices that will work with my lularoe leggings.

I had my first pair for 3 weeks before I figured out how to wear them. I'm up to 4 pair now, and wear them with a slightly-above-knee-length swing dress in gray (got it at Old Navy), a purple Carly dress, or a tunic top that hits about mid-thigh (also Old Navy).
It felt very weird the first couple of times I wore them in public. It's not at all how I'm used to dressing. I still look at the mirror a lot when I wear my leggings, trying to decide if I can get away with it or not. The funny thing is, I'm a jeans and t-shirt/sweater girl, so I actually feel more dressed up when I wear an outfit with leggings. Probably because it's an actual outfit, not just a pair of jeans and a top.
It really helped me to look at LulaRoe outfits on Pinterest, and I started following a few plus-sized Lula girls on Instagram. It was really beneficial for me to see women in my shape and size range putting together flattering outfits with LulaRoe.
And the patterns...they grow on you. When I first joined a multi group and saw my first album with hundreds of patterns, I thought maybe 90% were hideous. The more I see, though, the more I think, "I would wear that."

Merge and StephDRebel you ladies are totally rocking that look! My BFF can pull it off too and she owns a bunch of pairs of them, but she really dresses them up by adding scarves, statement jewelry and dressier tops and that's just not me. I think I'm just so used to wearing jeans that kind of 'hold everything where it goes,' LOL. I think I would feel like I was walking out of the house in my pajamas in leggings and that feels like a giant no-no to me. Even my pajamas are baggy flannel PJ pants. They're comfy but I'm only going to the end of my driveway to grab my newspaper in them--and only after checking down the street in both directions to make sure none of my neighbors will be driving past!

I wear them with long shirts, some LLR some not, but all down over my bootie. Sometimes a cardigan or flannel on top too. Flip flops, converse, booties, tall boots. If I wear flip flops or converse, I usually roll the bottom a couple of times. By the time I've got a long shirt over the top part and either boots or rolls on the bottom, the pattern doesn't seem as scary. And I'm totally in the leggings are pants camp so I wear them anywhere and everywhere.

I am wearing the right sized Lularoe leggings for my height and weight. They are not high waisted enough and my underwear shows. They fit in the leg, the knee and the behind. They just aren't high enough. I wore them all day today and I didn't step outside of the house in them. They are not to be seen on me in public. You're welcome.

Please ignore my hair. Merge, that outfit is seriously cute! Are all three pieces (leggings, top, cardigan) LulaRoe? Thank you. Actually none of them are LLR. I don't the have patience for their shopping model, plus I think they're overpriced. The leggings are from an online boutique called Paisley Grace. They are the same brushed fabric as the LLR leggings. You can also buy cute brushed-fabric leggings on Amazon - the brand is Viv Collection. The top and cardigan are also from Amazon, believe it or not. I may or may not have both in several colors. CardiganTopDixie Lou , the cat insisted on being in the picture. He's an attention hound. elaine , DH says if I wasn't an elementary music teacher I'd have to become one, because that's just how I look. crazy4scraps , TBH, I usually wear some kind of shapewear panties with them. I don't like the "let it all hang out" feeling, either, and that helps a little. And I don't wear leggings every day...

I like my LLR leggings a lot. Notice I didn't say "love" them. I have several pairs that I wear quite a bit with an Irma top or just a plain collarless denim top. I do find that I don't like the full head-to-toe LLR very much because I feel like I'm wearing adult Garanimals. There is a FB group called Discount Divas that a friend of mine runs and she sells a lot of great tunics and shorter dresses that I wear with my LLR. I love the longer cardigan look but that just doesn't look right on my 5'1" frame. I look better in a printed legging with a solid top and maybe a regular mid-thigh length cardigan over the top.
I also tend to wear a shorter ankle boot or flat with my leggings and i think it looks better than the knee-high boots which makes me look like I'm standing in a bucket.

Today I wore to work a fun pair of patterned leggings with a gray swing top, black cardigan and gray converse. I teacher elementary special ed and I felt put together and comfortable. I am 50 years old and short (5'1"). This past year I decided I am going to wear whatever makes me feel good. I own dozens of pairs of leggings and wear swing tops, the LuLaRoe Carly dress, tunic tops, and knee length dresses. If I feel my tunic top is too short, I have some really cute lace skirt extenders that help make it longer. I usually wear flats or converse with mine, but boots are super cute too.
