So after reading the other thread about peri-menopause, I checked my calendar - I haven't had a period in 12 months! That means I'm done, right? Woohoo!
I really didn't have too bad of time, certainly compared to some horror stories I've heard.
Yeah - an advantage to getting older!

Woo hoo! Here I was being cautiously optimistic, thinking I had 8 months down and four to go until I could join your club, and then last month--BAM! Just like that, I have to start over. I really can't complain at all, knock on wood, but I was really, REALLY looking forward to saying officially "YAY!!! I'M DONE with that nonsense!" I'm hoping that it was just Mother Nature saying, "PSYCH!" And this will be it. A girl can dream, LOL.

I got to 6 months, then 5 months, then I was regular for 4 months, then 7 months and now it's been 12 months.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I went 18 months and then out of the blue it was back. I've since had a hysterectomy and now I KNOW there will be no more surprises.

I got one at about 9 months and she said it is winding down and I should never go back to regular periods and I didn't. she said it is not unusual to have one or two as your body changes.

I've been slowing down over the past two years and I'm now at 125 days without. I'm 43 and honestly hoping I'm done!

I am in menopause because I choose to believe I am. It is one alternative fact I can get behind.

Seriously? That would be my nightmare. I'm still in the peri phase and I'm miserable. I can't even imagine. Ugh.

I think depending on where you are in the world doctors say you're menopausal after either one year or TWO years without periods.
I'm not there yet but congratulations to those who are.

My Mum's got very irregular, then she went for 6 or 7 months without one and was starting to breathe more easily when she got a really heavy one. And it was her last. Fingers crossed that that's what happens with you.

I know someone in her late 60s that started getting them again seriously WTF! That is a serious medial condition she should have checked out. Menopause after 60 is rare and certainly starting again near 70 means trouble. The average age of menopause is 51. I just turned 51, and since my birthday have not had a period. Time will tell how lucky I get. I feel like most of my perimenopausal symptoms started in my early 40's, but have gotten better. I do know my last few periods have been strange...lasted 3 days, then nothing for 3 then 3 more days then stop. They also came quicker in between (26 days). Now nothing. Fingers crossed. SaveSave
