It should be pronounced like the word "interest", only with a P in the beginning. I think the reason for differences in pronunciation of Pinterest stem mainly from differences in pronunciation of the word "interest".

I joined way back when it started. I used images found there in a class project and credited the source and Pinterest. My professor recorded his assessment and he pronounced it Pee--interest.

I think I might be other.
Between option 1 and 2
Pin-terist or something closer to that. Emphasis on PIN. I have 3 syllables but the last 2 run together.

I say it exactly as you described. Sort of two and a little bit syllables.

I pronounce it PIN-trest, just as I say IN-trest.
I also say IN-trest-ing (3 syllables) instead of IN-ter-est-ing (4 syllables)

I pronounce it like February. I say it Pin-ter-est. I have had several teachers who were sticklers about saying things correctly. I guess if you look at how you say interest or interesting, you will pronounce Pinterest that way. You are pinning your interests. I also say it Pin-ter-est ... it just sounds like interest which makes sense

Pin-tr est, Interest, is pronounced in-trest... not intrist...at least in the UK, or should I say, in my neck of the woods! In NC, I pronounce "Pin-trest" the same way.
