Not on Facebook, no. But I did text a pic of my stitched up surgery foot to my RN niece after the wraps first came off, and she texted back, "That's not even the nastiest thing I've seen TODAY." LOL.

I post pictures of snakes to my BFF in town here because she is a shit. She took me to "Venom" as a kid and it scared the heck out of me so I give her pictures of snakes. She deserves every single one of them, too. I will continue to post pictures of snakes for her.
It's not the same as stitches, broken bones and stuff but I know it stilll works. She doesn't like it. The WAR is on. It will never be over! And we do laugh ourselves silly about it!

Ugh, not me and I don't want to see it either.
I appreciate the people that post the gross picture in the comments of their own post warning about it. Then you don't get smacked with the picture as you are just innocently scrolling through your feed.

Not on social media, but I have a friend who had pics of her moms open abdominal surgical wound on her phone. She took great delight in showing me. Zooming in so she could show me the internal stitches and how the wound was healing from the inside out. Holy hell. It was open, but kinda held together with these red cable kind of things. Her mom was in the ICU for months and nearly died so of course I am ecstatic that she is now recovering. However, I still don't want to see pics of her great gaping wound.

Nope. And I unfollow people who do. Especially pics of needles and cannulas because I have big anxiety issues with them.

I don't post anything, but I did text a picture two days ago of my gaping wound before I went in to get stitches. The text was to my son because I know he loves the gore. I asked him to estimate the number of stitches he thought it would require. His response was "That's a good one! I say 8 stitches." He has always loved anything gory about the body. I was thankful for that when he faced multiple surgeries during his cancer battle. He was very disappointed that they did not video the procedure or offer to let him see what they removed each time. He was very bummed that they would not give him a jar with the cancer tissue to show his friends. He knew my sister received her tonsils when she was young. It's a matter of knowing your audience.

I love all this stuff.....The more gruesome the better! I love the pimple popper & blackhead videos too.
Not surprising though because when I worked at the Sheriff's office I use to go look at the crime scene photos. I love all that stuff. I guess to each is own.

No I don't. I do take photos for my own records, but I even store them in a private area on my laptop so that nobody, myself included, can just stumble across them by accident. I might e-mail or text them to a doctor or medical friend for advice, but otherwise I keep them to myself.
I used to work on ambulances so I've seen some "lovely" things without being bothered. But there's a time and a place for that sort of thing, and doing a quick scroll through over breakfast is neither.

For those of you who do, then TEXT the pictures to those who proclaim interest. Your other 567 "friends" don't want to see them!!!
And you cannot scroll past those things quickly enough.

I don't post them and don't mind most of them. Injuries, incisions, blood are no problem.
The ones I do mind are the zit or abscess ones where they're going to pop something. I don't have videos on auto play and that's one of the reasons why. Those make me want to hurl, like seriously hurl, so so gross. I'm an RN. I've dealt with drainage (not my own, from patients!) and some have smelled awful. I think those videos trigger that memory for me, I don't want any part of that.

What I find worse is the animal abuse pictures. But no, I keep my medical stuff private. Me too! I have one FB friend that shares these types of pictures everyday. I haven't blocked her but I blocked the pages that she shares so I don't see them anymore. Thank you, I didn't think of that! I have 2 people who post these pictures from different states........

...post thoroughly disgusting pictures on Facebook. Pictures like your sutures, or broken bones or distorted bones, bloody knees, gross teeth issues or even creepy moles and growths. If this is you, please, for the love of all that is good and holy, tell me WHY. Why on earth do you think anyone could possibly be interesting in your gross and disgusting stuff? I saw the WORST one a couple days ago. My friend posted a photo of her dog's face covered in her daughter's vomit and wrote something "cute" about her pup needing to learn when to stay away from sick children. GAG!!!!!!!!!!

I posted a pic of my daughters broken arm while we were sitting in the ER waiting to be looked at. It was obviously broken but very unique looking. There was no blood or oozing, just a hand at a 65% angle. She broke her arm while at a friends house over spring break and all her friends were worried about her so I posted for them to see that she was ok.

I don't have anyone on my fb that does that and I don't do it myself but I'll tell you one of the things that aggravates me is mothers who post their child's poop on fb!
"Does this look ok? Is he getting sick?" "OMG he took his first poop in the big boy potty"
.....yeah I don't care and I don't care to see the pics as a scroll by. But it's the Internet and you just never know what you will see so I take that into consideration right after I unfriend those people lol

OMG I hate limbs at weird angles almost more than visible bones. Blecch. If I wanted to see that I'd just watch Tosh.0 I have a friend who loves to post her rashes, her peeling skin, and every medical procedure she has. She's awful.

That stuff doesn't bother me in the least. What I do hate is pictures and videos of car accidents and anything spider related. The car accident stuff has a way of really triggering me. But guess what.....not my Facebook page, not my problem. I scroll by and if someone is overly posting that kind of thing, I just stop following them so its not on my feed daily. One persons gross medical pictures is another persons car accident photo.

If you wouldn't whip a body part out and wave it in someone's face in real life, then don't do it online.

Hmmm, I think everyone has their buttons. This doesn't bother any of us at all but we are all medical people/junkies. One DD has been to murder scenes, in on autopsies, etc. The other has been in on brain surgeries, heart surgeries, you name it. We all LOVE it. One daughter follows a trauma doc on Instagram, and you should see some of his photos. WOW!!!!!!! So, this doesn't bother any of us BUT bug photos, holy cow, those should come with a warning!!!!!

Unfortunately they do. Sometimes it's personal FB friends and sometimes it's people on my FB groups. The latest one was a child covered in poop and the mother thought it was funny to post on a makeup group 🙄
