This morning DH had a court hearing, representing the plaintiff. The judge took the bench, took one look at DH and said "In the interest of full disclosure, i need to notify counsel on both sides that plaintiff's counsel (DH) was my law professor in 1998".
DH started laughing and said that he expected this to happen one day and now officially felt "old".
When the court asked the opposing side if they had any issue, the other attorney said "no, your honor, not at all but, also in the interest of disclosure, plaintiff's counsel was also my law professor...in 2006".
poor DH lol

In 2 years, i will have the son of one of my girls that I had my first year of teaching 8th grade!
I taught high school before moving to middle school. The mother of one of my7th graders graduated from the HS I taught at the year before I started teaching there!

Please tell the professor he's not old, just popular & well-connected! After the reunion, I hope he logged a win for his client...

I was reading a facebook post.. in my professional field and someone referenced a paper by someone who was my professor.. in 1974. I even remember the title of one of his lectures.. he was a great professor.. that was the same yr dh graduated from that university.. so I do feel old too.

One of my first graders is in his 15th year of teaching. I am not quite sure how that happened. When I started having kids of my previous students I officially declared I was decrepit. It makes a great excuse for being forgetful or lousy with technology.

I'm glad your DH was able to laugh about it!
Kinda along the same lines- I taught 3rd grade. My 2nd year of teaching I had the sweetest little girl in class. She was so helpful! Guess who I often sub for now? She's had her own 3rd-grade class for 3 years now. Her students get the biggest kick out of their teacher's 3rd-grade teacher teaching them!

That's funny. My junior kindergarten teacher was my patient just before Christmas. I think I made her feel old. She was apologizing for not knowing my name and I blurted out that I would never expect her to remember me since I hadn't seen her in three decades, and you know I was 3 last time I saw her. D'oh! I am sure I could have phrased that so it didn't sound so long ago.

That's funny.
My son had a band teacher that is the wife of the band director I had in high school. She taught orchestra at the time. She saw me, asked if I had a kid in band and when I said yes, she replied with no way in hell enough time has passed for me to be teaching your kid! She's awesome.
The librarian is still with the district. I need to catch her one day.

Here's another one...
When I had my DD in 2011, my long term sub was a student from my first class of 8th graders.
When I had my DS In 2016, my long term sub was a student from my first class of 7th graders. She is now teaching 5th grade at my school.

A girl working the till at Old Navy asked for my Air Miles collector card. It says collector since 1997 on it and she says "oh that's the year I was born!" Groan! And it's the original card!!

That is awesome - he should feel he's done his job well, if his students are practicing law (and a judge)!
