Our son is turning 31 today and we would like to buy him a Keurig. I haven't looked lately to see what the new Keurigs are like but we would like to get something on a smaller scale than the one we have as his kitchen isn't that big. Any suggestions from the peas?
Update: We got him the Keurig Mini. It's perfect for his needs. He has a 10-cup coffee maker if he has a group over. The mini was on sale at BB&B for $79 plus I used a 20% off coupon so it was a good buy!

DD has the single cup one and likes it. There is a learning curve to knowing how much water to add to make the perfect cup but once you have that figured out it's fine. It comes in many cool colors so it's easy to match kitchen decor.

Have you considered a Nespresso? I never liked Keurig made coffee and was skeptical about the Nespresso. After having my daily dose at a friend's house for a week last year it went on my Christmas list immediately.

My only other suggestion would be to buy him a good French press and a bean grinder. Keurig coffee is ok but fresh French pressed coffee is to die for. It only takes a bit more time to make than using a keurig.

Like you said, it does take a bit to get the water measurement right, but once you do that, it's a piece of cake

Kerrigan Byrne is my favorite romance author so when I saw the title I was like YESSSSSSS. I'm in, LOL.
As far as Keurigs, I have the K55 for my office. I got it from QVC a month ago. No complaints

I have a Technivorm Moccamaster 10 cup drip coffeemaker with a stainless carafe. It is very basic, no timer or anything, but makes the best coffee ever. If my house was on fire, I would grab my dog, my purse, and my moccamaster. www.williams-sonoma.com/products/technivorm-moccamaster-manual-coffee-maker-thermal-carafe/?pkey=celectrics-technivorm&&celectrics-technivormI also have the single use Keurig mini, I think it is a K-10, also very basic. That is for when I or a guest just wants just one cup of different flavored coffees or teas. Got mine at Walmart on sale last year for 79. For Christmas I got a Nespresso Pixie and milk frother bundle as I have been sick and can't always get to Starbucks for a latte, which is my favorite treat. www.williams-sonoma.com/products/nespresso-pixie-espresso-machine-and-automatic-milk-frother/?pkey=celectrics-nespresso%7Celectrics-nespresso-original&&celectrics-nespresso|electrics-nespresso-originalNespresso came out with a coffee/espresso machine, so more like a Keurig then mine as you can use it for Nespresso and regular coffee. I don't know anyone that has one though. Nespresso capsules have to be ordered online from Nespresso and they can get expensive. If your son just wants a quick cup of coffee in the morning or at night, the Keurig or Nespresso Vertuo would be fine. If he likes to entertain, get something with a bigger pot, just be aware that K cups for a crowd or the larger K cups will be more expensive then a pound of ground beans for a drip machine.

Does he make coffee everyday? Mine is the small one without the water reservoir, because I don't want water sitting in it. Works for me.

Bunn My Cafe is what we have and I really like it. I think it makes a better cup of coffee than any of the Keurigs we went through before we got it. I use K cups in it all the time, but having the options for pods, ground coffee and just hot water (for tea, hot chocolate, soups, etc) are all handy and get used from time to time.

Can you use other k-cups in the Keurigs now? I remember there was a brew-ha-ha :*) about having to use only Keurig k-cups in one of the machines and people had to figure out how to hack around that restriction because they wanted to be able to use other makers' k-cups.
