We all have favorite brands but what is your favorite TYPE of paper? Grids? Lined? Polkadots? Vintage? Distressed? Photorealistic? Themed? Are you more of a A side or B side scrapper?
For me I HOARD Grid/Lined and small polka dots ( I think that is called swiss dots) in every color. They are perfect for both kids so I pick them up whenever I see them.
I am firmly planted in the B side scrapper. I am trying to branch out to the A side but almost always fall back to B side when buying and using. I am more comfortable with subtle/smaller patterns (unless they are arrows/chevrons) LOL!
What about y'all?

I am very much an A side type of person. I love big, bright, random-ish patterns. I tend to go for florals and themed things as well as random dots. But with that said, I also love grids and ledger papers because I think the pair well with all those big, random patterns.

I am drawn to florals, dots, ombré or multi-color stripes. I'll use either side of the paper if it works.

I tend to gravitate to the b side paper and prefer cream base colors /vintage patterns

I like the B sides--if that is where the muted colours, blended in or small designs, monocoloured sheets are--for backgrounds and as large matts for one or more photos. I usually print my pic's in colour and don't want to steal away their thunder. I am also always on the lookout for lined or gridded sheet that will work for these purposes, plus be cut up--and maybe inked--for journaling spots.
But for accents and bits and pieces on a page, I love bright splashes of colour, clear icons, definitely the A sides. For this, I also love foiled pp &/or vellum.
Designs I choose are definitely theme based: Christmas, birthday, vacation, little boy, sports, etc. But I also love polka dots and stripes and stars, and am definitely drawn to nature themed papers--from dark starry skies to sparkly water to icy ponds to leafed or leafless trees. And my LSS lady knows I will buy anything with clocks and/or gears on it!

I tend to prefer the B sides, the smaller prints. I have lots of tone on tone or small patterns sorted by color for those times you need a small neutralish print. I try to vary the patterns between small (gallon), medium (quart), and large (pint) on my layouts, but it's so much easier to use smaller prints.
But I really like the bold true colors with graphic designs. It's a newer thing for me when I stop going crazy with paper so I don't have as much of it. I think it works well with tweens/teens.

I like the A side and themed photorealistic paper and any other theme I can use. I will often cut down a pattern and paper piece it into my layout. Here are some examples of photo realistic paper from recent layouts - NYC, fall leaves and woven basket. I culdn't fit it on so I'm going to post below this one a layout where I cut down some Graphic 45. caveat: The circle pics and corners were done years ago when I was first scrapping. Some of the circles are actually hand cut from templates that's how hold they are. I try to fix them now so they look better. The bunny on the one is a very old rabbit sticker I found on the free table at the crop - I cut off his ear and made it face downward so it would lop like our bunny then used ink to color him black.

This layout has about 5-6 different patterned papers on one 8.5x11. The top is the back of a piece of Graphic 45 and the top photo is somewhat framed by a cut down piece of Graphic 45. I didn't like putting the photo of the girl on the right on the right side because I like photos to face inward, but the top photo wouldn't fit with the piece of Graphic 45 if I didn't. You know what I mean?
Eventually I am going to get a phone that takes photos that aren't blurry.

I'm definitely a B-side scrapper. I struggle with how to use large patterns. Love a good grid, polka dots, stripes, and plaids. I absolutely hate photorealistic paper. I don't use many florals because I'm mostly scrapping boy stuff.

Try using just a little bit at first, like a strip on the side or the bottom. Most people I meet don't like the busyness of photorealistic paper but I love it to help tell my story.

I like anything with a tiny print. I'm a multiphoto scrapper, so I don't have a lot of paper showing, so whatever print is peeking out from behind the photo has to say a lot in a small space!

I love when a paper comes out with the B side to coordinate with the busier A side. I always buy two pieces, at least, so I can coordinate them. I tend to like the B side best. myboysnme Thank you for sharing your layouts using photo realistic papers. It never occurred to me to use just a bit. I'll definitely try that.

I generally go for A sides and throw in a couple complementary B sides. An A side is what will make me buy a paper though. I love bright colors, florals, chevrons, large prints with some empty space. Rarely will I buy anything distressed or muted in color.

Small flower prints, love them! Especially when they have a nice B side to coordinate.

I'm mostly a b side scrapper. I really love lightly distressed or muted papers in small repeating designs.

I love me some paper. Love it!! But I'm guessing I'm more of a b-sider too, although I've never really stopped to think about it. Maybe I can keep track as I use up the millions of sheets I own...

Double sided, textured card stock like the ones from Authentique and Carte Bella

I have to challenge myself to use something other than distressed looking cardstock for the background. I loved the old Basic Grey. Now days I use a lot of Paper Loft, Echo Park, and Carta Bella.

I'm more of a B side person. My favorite paper is woodgrains which are getting harder to find particularly in lighter colors that don't have something else on them like flowers.

I am definitely a B side gal. I love the small prints, repeating prints, or semi-solids you see on the B-sides of papers. I like stripes, dots, ric-rac & chevron, gingham, checkerboard, argyle, wood grain, etc., but plaid and grid lines/ledger papers are probably my favorites right now. I think plaids are pretty and I like all sort of different grid line/ledger papers for journaling.

My favourite type of paper is scrapbooking paper...copy paper, newspaper, I can pass all that up. Just not scrapbooking paper I honestly love it all, but I do find grids, tone on tone distressed papers or small prints to be useful for layering with all of the glorious patterns. Lately I'm also really loving plain vellum to layer over busy papers to help my photos stand out. I like to have a balance of different kinds of paper on my layouts...if there is a bold print that I can fussy cut to work into my design that also makes me very happy.

My favorite scrapbook paper is cardstock, & my favorite patterns are the classics (eg stripes, plaids, swiss dots, chevron, grids).♥️

Definitely A sides, preferably small prints especially basics like polka dots, stripes and plaids in bright colors. I cut most of my patterned papers up and I just don't know what to do with big asymmetric prints or papers with the designs only around the borders or edges.

I like Chatterbox thin paper that is double sided the way theirs was. I am kind of sick of their prints, but want that thickness of paper again. I find it really easy to work with. Sometimes I like thick paper but not always. I like a thick cardstock back though.

I'm a B side girl. Plus, I love woodgrain.
Oh, and the Basic Grey "basics" from long ago? Loved those, and still have a few left (after possibly buying every single sheet from the largest LSS here).

I'm primarily a b side scrapper. I like smaller prints. Narrow stripes, random small polka dots, and chevrons all speak to me. The old Basic Grey "solids" that were distressed looking are probably my favorites of everything. I pretty much like patterns where I can cover up large portions with photos, journaling, or embellishments but you can still easily see the pattern.
