I need her to. I have spent way too much time watching her walk around her pen the past few days, ever since my coworker shared the live feed with me on Thursday morning. I had NO idea until then. Whenever I am on my computer, the live feed is minimized. I sometimes think I am watching the same series of her walking around that loop over and over and over and over and over.... My husband told me earlier that I need a hobby. I could have accomplished so many more things this weekend...I even had the live video on my phone a few times when I was out and about. Please tell me I am not the only crazy person anxiously awaiting the birth of a giraffe! Every night, I worry that after all of the time I have spent (wasted) watching this, that she will give birth when I am asleep. Yes, I need a life!

It's a hoax, I tell ya!!! j/k! I think the worst part is that the captions I keep seeing say things like "Giraffe giving birth any minute now!!!" Yeah, any minute in the next week, maybe!

I'm watching too. Every time she stands still and her tail goes up a bit I think 'Now's the time!'. Disappointed again. Darn. Just have that calf please, I can't wait!

LOL This morning, way too early, when I was awake and logged onto my computer for the sole reason of checking on April, one of the YouTube titles said something like "Giraffe giving birth now!" Jerks.

Ha ha...not that long ago, I looked at my computer for the first time in a while, and she was standing there with her back legs spread out and her tail up, and I was so excited.

Was anyone watching this morning when they were cleaning Oliver's pen, so they let him into hers? She was so affectionate and nuzzling all over him. I have read enough the past few days to know that he really probably doesn't give a crap that she is having a baby, that all he cares about is is food and sex, but watching them is so sweet.

I've been watching on and off for 3-4 days. I think the media hype started it sooner than it should have been. It is sweet when they are near each other. She is very affectionate to the handlers, but I read that a bull is a bull and they are extremely careful around Oliver. I don't think they enter the pen with him. I've discovered that it's fun to click on icons during live feeds. It's like a little firework show when your picture pops.

Why did people think the birth was so imminent? Was it just because it was her due date or something? Reminds me of all the women who think their baby should be born just because their due date was a day ago. I would think the zoo is actually monitoring her for signs of labor.

I've been watching since Thursday. She'll have it while I'm at work.

The poor girl probably doesn't want to give birth with the whole world watching. Can't say I blame her

I think something was said that the zoo said she was due sometime soon and someone (in comments) decided that meant she was in active labour and people just ran with it. Apparently it's hard to know until the calf's feet are out!!

I guess during a chat last night they said there is a "birth window" but it could still be a couple of weeks before she delivers or it may be today. They just don't know. They do have someone staying in the barn each night just in case. I think the media went a little crazy with it.

I gave up watching a few days ago. I just went to YouTube and searched for giraffe giving birth and watched one from there. While I was at it I watched an elephant give birth as well. Both were very interesting.

On my FB feed this morning was the update from the zoo saying she's still eating well and they think it could still be a few days (or not, who knows). The very next post on my feed was the local news saying she's very close to giving birth

We've been watching as well. I know that it's going to happen five minutes after we turn off the computer.

I watched the Dallas Zoo giraffe give birth. So while I'd like to see April's calf being born, I'm good if I miss it. It was nerve wracking watching the other one being born! Then to see it drop to the ground from that height? And see the mother almost step on him? Nerve wracking! So I'm good either way. No longer going to obsessively watch like I did last week.
I was thinking she was still eating normally. If she was in active labor I don't think she'd be as hungry. The Animal Adventure Park put the cam up and the media ran with the story that April was in active labor and will give birth any minute. You know...alternative news! LOL!

My FB feed keeps having posts that she is due any minute. Including from the local news station.
Total click bait.

Both were very interesting. I keep peeking in on her. However, I did go ahead and binge watch several species giving birth on Youtube as well. Let's see...I saw a panda, a tiger, a hippo, a camel, and a few others. LOL.

My co-worker and partner in crime at work is pregnant and her due date is Sunday but things are starting to move along so it really could be anytime between now and whenever. She and I have a joke about who is going to have the baby first: her or April My money is on April
