Hi lovelies!
So we did a few sketch/product challenges on our blog this month (in celebration of our birthday) and we were thinking of making it a regular monthly thing. I wanted to ask you guys for some advice.
How many of you like participating in crafty challenges? What are some of your favorite challenge sites/blogs? Do you prefer color challenges? Do you like product challenges? (I.e., use your chipboard) What is a good amount of time for you to complete a challenge? Do sketches get you inspired to use your stash?
Xoxo

I like challenges because they help motivate me BUT since I don't post my layouts online, I don't actually participate in them. I do like colour challenges and sketch challenges. I'm less keen on product challenges because I'm not a very trendy scrapbooker.

How many of you like participating in crafty challenges? Not often because I don't manage to find the time when the challenge is running.
What are some of your favorite challenge sites/blogs? Here and scrapbook generations fb site.
Do you prefer color challenges? Don't appeal to me.
Do you like product challenges? If they are product type, i.e. "use any enamel dots" challenges. But not if they are a "use a Magnolia stamp on your layout"
What is a good amount of time for you to complete a challenge? A month.
Do sketches get you inspired to use your stash? I love using sketches. So they inspire me to scrap, which usually involves using stash.
Love your products. I wish it was easier to find here in Sweden.

I like challenges AND sketches, especially ones that have samples to give me added inspiration. I agree with julieinsweden that product challenges are great if they ask for types of product rather than brand names or specific lines. A month is lots of time. I love the monthly challenges here, and am enrolled in Calvinball over at Get It Scrapped in March. I also check out the challenges on A Cherry On Top's forum, but I don't participate over there.

Xoxo I participated in one of your sketch challenges this month with the washi strips in the shape of a heart. It's not something I would have done on my own. I like how the page turned out. I was happy to participate. I suppose that that answers your first question. Yes, I like to partcipate in crafty challenges. I don't really have any favorite challenge sites aside from here. This was where I saw the link to your challenges. Im not sure if I've participated in a color challenge recently outside of using your favorite color to scrapbook. I'd certainly be open to participating. I enjoyed doing something similar in an online class I took last fall. I love product challenges provided they are general. Using a word stamp or wood veneers is fine. Using a very specific item either by the theme or company makes it quite hard. I won't go out and buy things just to participate. I use challenges as a way to inspire me to use the large assortment of products I already own. Once o get started on a challenge, I don't need much time to complete it. Getting started is the problem though. I'd say a minimum of a week. Two to four weeks is more ideal. I love to use sketches!

I haven't participated in many challenges in the past, but that's changing. This month I took part in a sketch challenge and a use your stash type of challenge, and next month I'll be participating in Calvinball, as grammadee mentioned above, just to get as much scrapping done as I can before I have to devote all my free time to gardening. There's a color challenge on one board I visit that I'm thinking about trying, but those are always hard for me because I like to scrap with the colors from my photos. And I like the idea of a technique based challenge, but only if it's easy enough, but then it might not be interesting enough. Not sure what you might want to do with that to make it appealing to your audience. A month is good for me. Can't wait to see what you come up with

I definitely enjoy challenges although I'm not great at completing them in the designated time frame. I like that they give me a jumping off point when I'm not sure where to start.
I look to the challenges here and occasionally I'll check out the digi challenges on The Lilypad or Designer Digitals, or some of the sketch sites like Page Maps or Stuck?! Sketches.
I love all sorts of challenges - product, colour, sketch, recipe, mood board. As long as it has me digging into my stash I'm happy.
Life frequently gets in the way so I like challenges that run for a month.
