This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to the March thread. With so many of our Pokeys doing Calvinball, we may make 7 pages for March. scrapincin, I hope you will post some of your ink techniques. I hope to play with ink this month. I'm anxious to try those techniques you introduced me to. Waving hi to each of you. Let's all have a very great month.

Thanks for setting this up each month!
I am at the end of Day Two with the Little Man, and so far so good. After Day 3 tomorrow, I will be driving home. I hope to jump right into Calvinball when I get back, but it may take me a day or two to find the energy.

nylene , thanks for setting up this thread. Day 1 of CB, I was planning to wake up around 5 and work on layouts. But DD decided at 2am to start the stomach flu. She is finally finished throwing up and slept for 40 minutes, she just woke when I started typing this. I was able to create a page working in bits and pieces and while sitting beside her on the couch. It's actually without photos for her strawberry garden this summer. The February Clique Kit had paper and embellishments that worked. It's almost 10am now and I'm starting to feel nauseous. Hoping it's because I'm on my 3rd Pepsi with real sugar. I don't usually drink soda, especially caffeinated. I had bought it the other day forgetting about the caffeine and because I knew I'd want a soda here and there throughout the month of CB. So obviously, I need to go be with her, but linking my layout first. Strawberry Love by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr

LisaDV - love your page, left love in the Calvinball Gallery I had a wonderful 1st day of Calvinball - 11 courthouse layouts done (bam) - [however there are still nearly 100 courthouse photos left to scrap], and 5 cards of a 20 card kit (gonna kill that kit for another point at the ball). I will probably start posting photos on Sunday, as I need some daylight to take some decent photos. See you all later!

Scrapper100 , welcome to the Pokey Thread. Jump in at anytime. We are quite informal around here. grammadee , I hope you travel safely on the way home. I'm sure it has been fun enjoying your grandson. I hope you took lots of photos. LisaDV , I am sorry the germs have hit your house. Is your husband feeling better now, and how about DD. I hope you were just tired and didn't get the stomach flu too. Your layout is so cute. I love strawberries! Leaving love in the gallery. I've finished a couple of pages and working on a couple more, but haven't scanned them yet. We have had a busy week. I'm looking forward to weekend! BBL ETA: grammadee, sorry I missed your last post saying you are already home. Hope you found everything well at home.

March is here and thanks nylene for keeping us going. It is a beautiful and sunny day and sending all of you some sun rays. Wishing all you Calvinball gals a great time. I don't have that many photos to scrap but I hope to do a few this month along with a few cards. Gotta head over to the gallery and seeing what is going on over there. I am still in the baking mood. I want to try more cupcakes and even a cake next week. Boy, our freezer is getting full of lots of practice goodies. LOL! Waving hello to you all and have a nice day!

Scrapper100, maribeth, grammadee, & nylene, Thanks for the love on my page. Also for the well wishes. I did end up with the stomach flu too. We must have caught it on our outing Monday. Don went to work yesterday, but decided to come home last night. He's feeling much better today. He had grueling 3 hour drive home in the snow and icy roads and said there were at least 12 accidents and he fish-tailed once. I'm feeling better today. Smells still get to me. DD takes longer to get over any sickness, and although I'm trying to get her to eat the BRAT type foods, she's still not up for much of it and her water consumption is down because she always gets nauseous with too much liquid. Today she's been sitting watching TV or reading. I've been cranking out digital layouts. I finished 12 layouts today. I may still end up doing a few more today, but I'm getting kind of tired. Sad since I just sat here all day. maribeth, great start on your CB day.

maribeth and LisaDV , 11 and 12 layouts? That is more than I do in 2 months! You guys are really cranking them out. Can't wait to see them. kellyr21, your excitement about baking makes me want to bake some muffins. I'm glad you are enjoying baking. Take a photo of what you are making. scrapincin , I am hoping you are feeling well. Are you still playing with inks? I actually opened my Victorian Velvet today but didn't stamp anything with it. I did stamp some green trees, but that's all. Still working on some layouts. Have a great weekend if I don't get back for a couple of days.

Good evening Pokeys! A warm welcome to Scrapper100! And good luck to all of you doing Calvinball! Just trying to get ready for Maggie's birthday! She will be 13 tomorrow! Doesn't seem possible! Went to the Game Dinner last night! I tried most of what was there but declined the gator and muskrat. There was venison, walleye, salmon, and moose-which i did eat some of. nylene You are going to love that ink-sometimes it looks pretty pink and others more purple. Thanks for posting our new thread for March. We must have someone on their toes. My brother had his second heart attack Tuesday. They put another stent in. He had two put in 6 years ago when he had his first heart attack. He was released from the hospital today. He will behave for a while themn go back to his old ways. kellyr21 you are really having a sweet tooth lately! But if you are enjoying yourself just keep on doing it! Well Jeremy is here to get Maggie's new bike. It has been in our garage for the past week or two so she would not see it. I got her some sketching tools-pad, pencils charcoal etc. Have to close for now!

Those grandkids grow up, don't they, scrapincin! I made a card and wrapped a gift for a dgd today. She will be 11 next week. Will need to get into town tomorrow to put the parcel in the mail. I asked what she wanted and she said "baking stuff". Her cousin who is 6 months older asked for and received a container of baking pans and other baking supplies last birthday. They both like to bake with me, but not sure if they do it when I am not there. I loved picking out the tools of the trade, but am a little sad to give up the dolls and little girl toys... Looks like you have the baking bug, too, kellyr21. When did you start up your interest in this hobby? Did you bake with parents or grandparents? Or did you take it up as an adult? Reading about your cupcakes makes me want to bake and decorate some, but then I would *need* to eat them all--to protect my diabetic husband, you see... Looking forward to seeing your pages, nylene, and your stamping and inky play, scrapincin. Besides the card, I managed to finish a couple of finicky pages today, but not until evening, so I won't get a pic until tomorrow. LisaDV, I can't imagine getting 12 pages done in a day at home when I am feeling well and had a good nights' sleep, let alone with a queasy stomach and a sick kid! And I see maribeth is going to town too! I am hoping to keep up my scrappy pace this month: an average of a page a day. March 2nd, and I have 2 pages. I am good. I will have to make up my points in bonus points rather than page production. With everyone off to such a fast start, I don't think I will be making top ten this year, but Calvinball is definitely fun!

TGIF, TGIF, TGIF, TGIF (I think you understand what I am trying to say - LOL) LisaDV - WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!!!!! Awesome start to Calvinball Thank you to justjac , LisaDV , and grammadee for all the kind words I have see you post in various threads related to Calvinball here and at GIS about me. You are all too kind. nylene , scrapincin , @kellr21 - thank you all for encouraging all of us Pokey Calvinball participants. Day 2 is done - finished the final 6 cards of the 20 card kit (so I killed it and get a point), and 3 more Courthouse layouts. My total points are 117, with 20 cards (1/2 pt each), and 15 Courthouse pages done. Day 3 - spent most of the morning putting the totals in my spreadsheet and the Calvinball stats thread. But created a border (which is now drying) with some spray mists, and scattered some sequins on another page, but still need to actually adhere them to the page. Looking forward to this evening - no treadmill tonight I can get right to scrapping. Tomorrow is a bust as I have facial, hair and eye doctor appointment. But Jim will be out of town 23-26 so I should be able to finish up Calvinball with a bang! My mail goal is of course page count. I want to get a ton of stuff scrapped and in Albums. My secondary goals are to use up my stash (especially paper and paper scraps), I want to use items I have been keeping or overlooking, or saving (for that special project which may never come) I have some silly goals too just to keep it fun and fresh for me - I want to use every color of things I have, like every color of stickles, ink pads, spray mists, I buy them, but I don't really use them frequently so I want to challenge myself to use them, even if it is only a little bit, I want to actually say I have used every color that I think I needed to get. Well back to the ol work grind, counting down the hours until I get home to my special dinner tonight - Salmon and then Scrapping the night away (for this very non night owl) Have a wonderful day ladies. Oh yea - and I should be able to post some photos on Sunday, waiting for some day light to take photos of layouts.

scrapincin , you should have eaten the gator. It's good. So sorry about your brother. Don's brother has heart problems. He had to have heart surgery as a little kid, but he doesn't take care of himself at all. So I know the frustration. Happy Birthday to Maggie! Is she excited about becoming a teenager. I can't imagine getting 12 pages done in a day at home when I am feeling well and had a good nights' sleep, let alone with a queasy stomach and a sick kid! Don sat with DD so I just sat at my computer most of the day working on layouts. I'm doing vacation photos so I have the main 2 kits and then went searching for other do-dads from other kits. My digital pages are always much quicker to make than my traditional. I don't have to worry about cutting wrong. If I don't like it I just hit undo. I make masks to clip the paper to so I can adjust the mask to the size I want if it doesn't look right. It's just so much easier. maribeth , Way to go! It feels so good to kill a kit, doesn't it?? I want to use every color of things I have, like every color of stickles, ink pads, spray mists, I LOVE this fun challenge. I could do one with stamps, stencils or dies too. nylene and scrapincin, you two are talking about the oxide's aren't you? How do you like them? I'm debating them. I actually completed 16 pages before the end of the day yesterday. My goal for the month is 40. I have 181 points, which is more than my month's total last year. I'll probably work digitally today, as I want to get through the vacation photos before I start traditional layouts. Plus although I'm feeling better today, I also feel weaker, probably from not eating much for 2 days. I will definitely be doing more around the house too. I've already washed the dishes. I really need to get some laundry completed too. Don sanitized all of the surfaces yesterday and I want to do that again today. Going to check the rest of the forum to see what's going on. Then maybe do a productive thing or two before creating again.

scrapincin, will you please wish Miss Maggie a Happy 13th Birthday from me. I think she and Lyssie would be such great friends. Lys was 13 in October. I was planning to play with my new ink this weekend, but it looks like I'll be helping DGD with her blanket she's making for her boyfriend's B-day. LisaDV and maribeth and grammadee, I am enjoying Calvinball vicariously through you guys and without any pressure. LOL. It would stress me out, I'm afraid. LisaDV, I haven't tried the new Oxide inks but they look interesting. Cindy's Victorian Velvet Tim Holtz color was so pretty that I had to order one. kellyr21, keep us informed about the things you are baking. I made banana bread because we had a bunch of dark bananas, but other than that I haven't baked anything but casseroles. I forgot, I did bake a batch of cookies recently, but I eat too many so don't really like to do that. LOL justjac, are you doing Calvinball too. I see that you completed LOAD. Another stresser for me! I hope you all have a great and productive weekend!!!

Not so TGIF here, but then being retired it's hard to get excited about weekends. And I had a fragmented day. Finished off and posted a couple of pages this morning and have been working on a couple more, but had lots of interruptions. Had to drive to town to mail dgd's bd gift and to pay some bills. Then dh wanted to show me how the water is rising now that temperatures are moving above zero (C) again. The small creek that flows between our yard and the field has overflowed because a culvert is frozen. No danger of any floods in the house area, but some of his storage sheds may be in danger of getting some water in them. Meanwhile, dd was having a "school" day. She is working on a distance Masters program, and she called me several times to discuss what she was writing. Then this evening, we facetimed a few times because she is decorating the cake for her ds's delayed bd party (It was post poned because of the hand/foot/mouth illness, but tomorrow they are hosting ten 4 year olds at a local gym for playtime, pizza and cake. Left some love for your Kayla page in the Gallery, nylene. It is just beautiful. Looking forward to seeing all your pages for Calvinball, LisaDV and maribeth. And justjac, I hope you get to play this weekend. Here are the pages I posted today. The second one was for the March Bonus challenge. Keep snapping by Gramma Dee, on Flickr keep Snapping2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The ones I am working on now will be for crystalb's stash-ket challenge as well as for Calvinball. Hoping to get started on the March Scraplift/sketch challenge next. Have a great Friday evening, Ladies!

Hello again. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Today was your pamper day, wasn't it, maribeth? I puttered around, finished a two-pager I had started yesterday, and then did another one. They all were based on Challenges on this board, but of course I claimed them for Calvinball points. Here is a double pager about dgs doing the shoveling one weekend he was here. He was so cute. I called him in for lunch and he said, "I'm working. I'll be in when I'm done". Snow day double page by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And I had used one of these photos for my February calendar page, but I really wanted these little gigglers to be in my Winter album as well, so here are the two pages I used them on. Good morning all! Maggie's birthday celebration is this afternoon! She had two girl friends spend the night Friday night and I guess they had a giggling good time! Last I heard they were making slime! They were also spending sometime on the Wii. I never have been ableto make the card so will be doing that this morning! I am loving all the layouts you gals are posting! Sixteen digi layouts in one day!!!!! I do digi faster then traditional but I know I could not do 16 in one day-maybe 3! My brain fries easily! You go girls! I am rooting for you!
I am off to make a card and wrap a present! I will update the celebration later in the day!

Very pretty card, scrapincin. Left some love in the Gallery. Hope you enjoyed the birthday. maribeth, I have been commenting on your pages in the CB gallery. I like that you are adding a little extra to each page to add to its interest. I hope you have all had a restful weekend. I have done nothing but scrap and watch Curling on TV. LisaDV had suggested on the CB forum that she might just give the family a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter and tell them to fend for themselves. I did little better than that. We had leftovers for supper which is the only meal I prepare anyway. I freeze leftover soups and casseroles in individual portions and when I don't feel like cooking I just pull out a couple of containers and pop them into the microwave. I finished 4 more pages today. Here are two of them. Went back to the Christmas week when we had some of the little guys here at the farm. I love that I got pix of them interacting with each other. Good Monday morning to everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I know a couple of you scrapped your hearts out! I think I got everyone's layouts in the gallery but if I missed one I apologize! We celebrated Maggie's birthday yesterday! It was a lot of fun. I got some great photos so will be printing those today so I can scrap them. She is so funny ! I wish you could hear her! She had two friends overnight Friday night and I guess they had a ball. I know they made slime and giggled a lot! Thanks for all your sweet comments on my card! Those help to inspire me to keep creating! nylene You asked if those tulips were a punch. They are a cut file from The Silhouette design store. I hope you saw where I used the Vivtorian Velvet on both pink and purple. I have used it on numerous colors and it just works! Hope you all have a great start to your week! I will be back later!

maribeth, I have been commenting on your pages in the CB gallery. I like that you are adding a little extra to each page to add to its interest. ....and let me tell you that becomes challenging. Because I do want them pretty much standard it is difficult for me to come up with an embellishment. Sometimes I just don't. I sure am having fun at the ball.

I'll leave love later in the gallery but want to say quickly: nylene, beautiful page. Just gorgeous. maribeth, Love your courthouse pages as usual. grammadee, I love using and seeing lace on pages. Your snow layout made me smile. The use of your enamel dot and hearts in a semi-circle is gorgeous. So lifting that. scrapincin, Your cards are always amazing. I love the detail you put in. The shading adds so much dimension and this is gorgeous. I was gone all day yesterday. Don was going to take Logan to church, but he didn't sleep well and was up with coughing fits so I went so he could rest. Also, the boys are going to Chicago next weekend and Logan needed new tennis shoes and jeans. He's now in a larger shoe size than Don. Unfortunately, we were out all day and I didn't get any of my regular errands completed so I'll have to go do those today. UGH. SO I'm off.

Happy Monday! I hope you all are having a nice day so far. Tonight, I will be going to a M's class on paper flower making. I hope to learn a few things. Sometimes the classes are cancelled due to lack of students so I hope tonight that won't be the case. Baking is still on my mind this week too. I really want to learn to make good desserts and share some of them with fam and friends down the road. grammadee yeah, I didn't grow up doing a lot of baking with my mom or grandma. So this is all sort of new to me. After watching some YouTube videos of cupcake and cake decorating I got hooked! It felt like another art form and you know I love art. I wish I could spend some time with you gals to really learn to bake. I don't even like frosting but I really want to learn to make it. LOL! It's funny to me that I don't even eat that much of what I make. I'll taste some and stick the rest in the freezer. nylene- Yummy banana bread sounds good. Oh and thanks for all the love you left for me in the gallery at scrapbook dot com. I meant to make that one upload with multiple pictures and ended up with just lots of uploads. LOL! maribeth LisaDV grammadee - You all are really going with the CB! Go girls! Hope you are having fun and reaching your goals. scrapincin- What sweet card!!! I know your dgd loved it too. What a fun party she had. Yes, I sure they giggled and have a good time at the sleepover. I loved those when I was a teen and have sure fond memories too.

I am loving all the fun layouts and cards posted. Like scrapincin, I think I caught them all in the gallery. It's fun to see this thread moving like a freight train! kellyr21, that flower class sounds like fun. I hope you learn something new and can show us. LisaDV, I'm sorry your DH is not feeling well. I hope the boys have a good time together in Chicago. Will you just scrap, scrap, scrap while they are gone? grammadee, those layouts are so cute with all the little boys together. Cousin time is always a favorite. maribeth, you are really moving on the courthouse photos. I love the little touches you are adding. What a great project. I am just amazed by the architecture. DH had his eye treatments today so I have just been cleaning house. We have DH's sister and husband coming sometime in the next 2 weeks so I needed to freshen up the room they'll be in and wash all the linens. We are out of school for Teacher Development today, so we took Em and the kids to lunch before the eye appt. It was really fun to sit and chat together. Off to finish vacuuming the stairs. (my least favorite job) Have a great week.

Thanks for all the kind comments, nylene and scrapincin and kellyr21. Looking forward to the birthday pages, scrapincin. You would think that while LisaDV was busy all day and maribeth was at work I might have taken advantage of that to move ahead in Calvinball, but although I did finish a couple of quick pages, I certainly did not surge ahead. I need to go over there and leave a bunch of comments tonight. scrapincin, sounds like Maggie had a great party. Oh, to be young again! Just the thought of staying up late makes me tired. ha. kellyr21, I hope your class wasn't canceled, but you could probably teach those classes. Once DD is better established with her weekly biofeedback sessions, I want to schedule a beading class for us. Joanne's had a take a class with a friend where you set the time and date poster up last I was there. What's next on your baking agenda? nylene, while the boys are away. DD & I plan our "girls weekend". On Thursday, she has her first real biofeedback session, and we'll be doing lunch afterwards. We're getting sushi to go from the place for our dinner that evening. We plan to watch a few movies (girly) and are definitely pulling out the gelli plates and doing some print making. We're setting up the folding tables in the living room area. This will probably turn into some art journaling as well. She also picked out a few photos for 2 scrapbook pages, but not sure if we'll get to that. We may even try our hand at soap making. So my scrap time will be limited to before she wakes in the morning. grammadee, I LOVE, LOVE the use of the cardboard on the Box Full of Giggles page. Also love the tilted look. I rarely ever want to redo pages. But I have a box layout myself that I've never been particularly fond of and I would redo it to copy these pages exactly, if I weren't so lazy. Yesterday, errands were completed. And after making dinner, which was a quick taco meal not a loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter, even if that's what I really wanted to give them. I was able to create a layout bringing me to 28 pages for the month. I hope to My goal for this week is just 1 layout a day. Next week I'll take another whole day or 2 and create like crazy again. Cutish story share. We had a thunderstorm last night. Our oldest dog who thought she was just one of the kids until we got the new dog, was sleeping with ds. Once the thunder started rolling, she came and got in bed with me. She's such a baby. (shaking my head but smiling) Off to get some work out of the way so I can create.
