As many as I buy. I've thought about getting something to make myself.
What's best for this? Cricket?

I love my Silhouette Cameo and use it to make both vinyl decals and heat transfer vinyl t-shirts regularly. I have used it much more than I ever imagined I would when I bought it. Best craft purchase ever.

The answer-it depends. There are a couple of great threads. Comparing the two on the scrapbooking board. Some people find the cricut software limiting, some find it more user friendly than the cameo. I've heard people say the cricut cuts a little better but I think for vinyl either machine would work great. I've only used the cricut and I love it. I make vinyl decals all the time.

I LOVE my Cricut, but just so you know I've never tried any other machine. I hear people complain about the current software but I've never had a problem. And I know they are coming out with a new version that doesn't rely of flash which is making everyone very happy!

Best craft purchase ever. I agree! I thought I'd use it mostly to cut titles for scrapbook pages, but I use it for tons of crafts. I volunteer at a theatre and use it TONS there. Sets, shout outs, tees, advertising... You name it. I buy my vinyl online, 20-40ft at a time--it's less than half what the Silhouette/Cricut vinyls costs. I chose a Cameo because I doing have to buy cartridges just for one or two images. I buy an image at the Silhouette store for about $0.25. So much easier! If I need an image at midnight, I can just go to the store. And then there's a trace feature to trace almost any image out there. Love that! I'm not sure of the Cricut's features, but those are some that I wouldn't want to live without.

Enabler!! Would this work for the type of vinyl decals you put on the wall or are y'all talking about something else? Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

The vinyl decals you put on the wall would be easy-peasy on the Silhouette. You just need either repositionable or permanent indoor vinyl for those. So very simple.

I've had the Cricut and the Cameo and I prefer the Cameo.
I've done it all, tshirts, decals, glassware, etching, signs.

Thanks for the replies!! Second question...what's a decent price for any of them? The current Amazon deal is amazing. I will admit to thinking of upgrading my first generation Silhouette before midnight tonight for that price.

I have a Cricut Explore only because I have so many cartridges already from two older machines. Design Space can suck. It doesn't like complicated designs if you do your own designing. You can import images now and not have to rely on just Cricut images or fonts. However from Cameo users I have learned you can be more creative with your own designs because the software is better for that.
My Explore does cut well and I have cut many images with vinyl. The newer versions Explore Air 2 cuts faster though it's not recommanded for intricate. I don't have a problem with the speed my regular Explore cuts at.

I have a vinyl machine that I purchased long before Cricut was on the market. I do all of my vinyl on that. I do have a vinyl business that is mostly just word of mouth. It is a large machine. I can cut up to 23 inch wide on it. I have had some jobs that needed the larger size, so a Silhouette or Cricut would not have worked in those situations. I did end up buying a Cricut when they first came out (I had the 6 inch one and then upgraded to the 12 inch when they came out). However, I now also have the Silhouette because it was on a good deal and my husband hated how proprietary Cricut was. I still cut all my vinyl on my large vinyl cutter. It is set for vinyl and I don't have to change the blade depth. I have loved it and it still works great in the 12 years I have owned it.
