I can't believe it! An opportunity has come up to hang out with a new friend and go to the Great American Scrapbook Convention in June! Anyone been to it before?

I did not know it was still around! Ours has been replaced by Scrapbook Expo. I went for many years, in fact, it is probably 15 years or more since I first went because I won the layout contest with a layout of a photo of my each decade from age one to age 40. I will be 60 in 2 months and I added a second page to the layout when I turned 50 with room to add 60. I won an original sizzix machine and die valued at $100 at the time.
Anyway for a few years we did volunteering for classes and then eventually just did shopping and maybe a crop here and there. Personally I like the format of Scrapbook Expo the best because we can crop and shop all day, but if we had GASC here I would go again no question.
I have found that depending where you are located the farther away you get from where the companies are the fewer vendors of new stuff will be there but there will hopefully be plenty of vendors clearing out stuff at great prices. I used to go crazy on bins of paper where you could get like 60 sheets for $10 but most of it has been cleared out at the conventions I go to now.
You may like classes. I used to take them by volunteering in that class but I did pay for a digital class that was basically an ad for Epson. I guess I'm just not a classes person but many people are. I have friends who go to classes most of the event!
Go and have a blast and let us know how it goes!

The last time I went to something of this scope was CKU in 2006. I'm overdue!
