I can't figure out how to link a photo but you guys have absolutely got to try the inks over resist paper!!! For one thing the Oxides blend so smoothly....smoother than regular distress inks. I actually rarely use my resist papers because blending over the patterns never resulted in a uniform coloring of the background (I hope that makes sense). Well the Oxide inks do!!! So prettily. I'm going to town with a bunch of resist papers that I have stashed and thought I would never use.
These inks are addictive! Ranger has got to come out with all of the colors.

I have some white and kraft papers from a SSS kit that I'd like to try that on. And, yes, I'm already thinking of some other colors I wish I had.

For those of you who purchased the Distress Oxides, are you using the same blending foams as you use with the regular Distress inks or did you buy new ones specifically for these Oxides?

So for those who have played with your new oxides, what technique do you like to use them for?
I just love them on black paper, the effects are great. I swiped the pad across my paper on the diagonal, lightly and then topped with another color and it looks like a chalkboard that has been gone over with a eraser but left lots of dust behind. I actually like these inks before and after water has been applied, both are nice. I even made a few oxide watercolor backgrounds and stamped over them using the straight oxide ink and the results are really nice. These inks are addictive! I want more colors please.

I used the same blending foams and also tried cosmetic sponges which didn't blend as nicely, but worked in a pinch.

I had an extra package of the blending foams so I have a new foam for each color. I didn't want to mix the formulas. I'm stumped at how to store the foams, though. With my regular distress inks (mini's) they fit on the back. I tried adhering Velcro to the bottom but when I pulled foam off the Velcro came with it. I tried the normally ultra-aggressive glue dot and also some Tombow glue, but I may have to use glossy accents or matte multi.

Just ordered 5 of them! About $5 a piece and that includes shipping! Where did you find them at, if you don't mind sharing:)

The foams for oxides shouldn't be mixed with the regular inks. I was going to try a velcro dot on the bottom, so thanks for taking one for the team. I love the way that the round foams fit onto the bottom of the mini distress inks, but that won't work for the large inks. For the 12 Oxides, I'm thinking of just keeping them in a flat container of some sort, with labels on the lid. Something like a watercolor tray would be perfect. I'll let you know if I come up with something that works.

I have seen the velcro idea, but I kind of think somehow the ink will rub off on something I don't want it to rub off on. I am an avid stamp cleaner, so I don't really care for random ink stains here and there (if I can avoid it). I keep the blending pads in a snack size zip-lock bag in like-color families. I think like 5 fit in there? Until I find a better solution, it works for me. Got the bags at Dollar Tree.

I have had mine velcroed on my Distress Inks since 2010. No problems at all. I will do the Oxides the same way. I did have one come off but just used Glossy Accents to glue it back down. Love storing them this way.

Well thanks to this thread I just bought 6 more - I bought three but didn't have the colors I currently want for a project so just ordered them after not being able to find them anywhere - I really wish the lilac one was available to but oh well. Eventually I will find it. Thanks for posting the link.

Have you guys seen this new Jen McGuire video?? So pretty. I need to play around with just stamping Oxide inks; so far I've been using the water spray/heatgun technique to make really amazing (if I do say so myself ) backgrounds.

*No affilitation with these...just enabling Ink lovers, if you have the budget, I bought these brushes yesterday and they're rocking my world! www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Claritystamp-STENCIL-BRUSHES-Set-of-4-ACCBR30006XX-ACCBR30006XXC?currency=USDThey are so much easier to use than the blending foams - no edges, no "blending onto the paper" - no talent required Jennifer McGuire used them a while back and piqued my interest, but it was this facebook live Friday that convinced me to fork out the money: www.facebook.com/stampinsteve/videos/1654224701259964/I have already used them to stencil on a tag for a LO using my distress inks, and create a card background (an ombre rainbow. It's gorgeous! With stencilled stars on top!). They work really well with all my dye inks (hero arts, lawn fawn...) and distress inks (including the oxides). You just brush off the colour and dip into the next ink pad...no cleaning (although I kept 1 brush just for yellow as Jennifer suggested). I'm going to get a LOT more use out of my inks owning these and now I feel free to buy even more inks!

I'm adding a picture of what I did with my brushes and inks on my first 2 attempts because I'm so excited about these brushes In real life, the edges are softer and the whole look is smoother) Cloud background along a cut edge (just cardstock, not a real stencil) - distress broken china + dusty concord, abandoned coral on top). My first attempt at this cloud technique and I need to practice more! Rainbow background (some oxides, some regular distress, the green is hero arts) then I stenciled stars overtop in faded jeans and cracked pistachio:

I think like 5 fit in there? Until I find a better solution, it works for me. Got the bags at Dollar Tree. I have a dozen large regular distress inks that I stack for storage and didn't want to velcro the blender pads to the bottoms. I instead put the velcro in rows on a plastic index sheet from a notebook and wrote with sharpie the name of each ink pad. I keep this sheet in the drawer with the distress inks and just pull sheet out when I stamp. It keeps all the pads separate and the sheet lays on top of the stacked pads in the shallow drawer. I plan to do the same for the Oxides. All my inks are kept in 12x12 stacking drawers by brand/type. When I stamp I just pull out the correct drawer and take it to my workspace.

I use the FridgeBinz for my crafty storage so I wanted to store the Oxides in them, similar to my regular sized inks. All Mini's distress and regulars are stored in TH mini distress ink tins, in a FridgeBinz.
I used Score-Tape to adhere a strip of Velcro to the top inside edge of the bin, made a label for each color, then stuck a foam on.
I'm not sure if I like it yet, but for today it works.
Sorry I can't get the photo to add properly.
