Another for the meh count.
I think it's almost a trend or....something... to not have properly altered formal dresses. Drives me bonkers.

Looking more at the photo, it seems to have been enlongated through her middle section and lower arms. Her forearms look disproportionately long to me, compared to her upper arms, and her pelvis/thigh area also seems very long. I wonder if the pinning was done because people admired the artificially long/lithe look without realizing that it IS artificial.

Not even a little bit. It looks more like a nightgown than a bridal gown. The fit is poor around the bodice too. I can't see why this would be so popular.

Fit it better, give it something simple like even spaghetti straps, and put it on a model who seems to actually have a backbone - it could be very pretty for a beach wedding or something. Whoever said that picture is just all down is so right. Her shoulders, her head, her arms are just hanging, the overlong dress, the overlong and overly straggly hair - the whole photo is depressing! Give her a more dynamic posture, let her hold even a tiny nosegay, do something a little less droopy with the hair (and fit the gown!), I think it could work. The way it is now just makes me sad.

My late mother would have said "she is not wearing the dress, the dress is wearing her."

It looks to me like that dress doesn't fit the model properly - it's much too big. I think it would be lovely if it was properly fitted. That's what I was thinking too. Maybe that's why it's been pinned so many times........look how a wedding dress shouldn't look like on you ( general) ETA OK I've changed my mind now after seeing it closer......not my kind of wedding dress at all

She looks downtrodden. Tired. Perhaps asleep.
She's exhausted from all the planning and expense. She's standing there in her very ill-fitting dress contemplating eloping. One slight shrug of her shoulders and she can escape both the dress and the madhouse.
Hence, the appeal?
ETA: Oh, wait. I see she's awakened. Now it looks like she's been drinking.

I love simple.. mine was even simpler but this looks messy. I think it may be the way it is modelled. I agree. It looks almost messy. I pinned one ( who the hell knows why as I've been married 16 years) and it is LOVELY Take what i say with a grain of salt, as I'm the girl who didn't even try her dress on. I saw it in a book and knew it was the one. My shop was EXTREMELY nervous to say the least!

Meh for me. I don't hate it but to me it looks like a super long night gown. I can't believe that is the most pinned dress

It's not my style. And I'm sorry to say, but "nightgown" was the first thing that came to mind for me as well. Of course, people may be pinning it because there is something about the photo they like, not necessarily because they adore the gown in its entirety as it's presented.

After seeing @dottyscrapper post, this dress looks like lingerie that is wayyy to long. Not a fan of it at all. Even without the additional side view photo, it wasn't anything special.

I like the dress, but I don't like how it looks on her. And although I do like it, it certainly wouldn't be in my top choices.

Screams nightgown to me as well. Looks like you'd wear this on your wedding night vs at the ceremony.

It looks nighty-ish in that shot. It looks better when it's properly fitted, like on the page for the designer. I got married 27 years ago, so it definitely wasn't in a dress like this one! Grace Loves Lace

A friend of mine wore this dress at her wedding. It looks much better when it is fitted correctly. It wasn't my particular style, but it worked well for her beachy/bohemian wedding.

I think it has more to do with the feeling the picture conjures than the actual dress. It is very ethereal. That's what I thought too. When you take the dress into consideration by itself it is very meh and so noticeable that it doesn't fit the model. But Pinterest is often about mood and pretty pictures more than about practicality. This photo has a lot of mood and the way the dress is hanging perfectly combined with the soft lighting and background...well it's a pretty picture and those get pinned a lot.

Every time i look at the picture her arms get longer. Then the second picture with her arm bent, she looks vaguely like a praying mantis. I can't unsee it now.

I agree that part of the appeal might be the breezy, sexy feeling it evokes. If I had her figure, maybe...

I love the way the skirt flows from the bodice in the photos Judie in Oz linked.

Meh for me. I don't hate it but to me it looks like a super long night gown. This! It is pretty. But, there was something not quite right. It is that it looks more like a super fancy, long night gown.

It's pretty, but it looks like just one gentle tug and she'd be nude. Not my style.
