I would like to start doing some classes again and would like to get some advice on what tape runners you use. I use a double sided tape that I love but just feel like that could hold me back with all the cutting and peeling especially in a fast pace class. I am in a sub tropical climate and have found some of the tape runners do not perform that well with heat or humidity. Thanks

no help here - I wasn't happy with tape runners when I tried them and I've pretty much stuck with the photo squares

In my experience - if the class is "good" -- for me that means, new technique, good as to both quality and quantity of product, good instructor -- then I'm not really supposed to "keep up". That sort of class slows for the new content, speeds up through the stuff we already know -- adhering stuff to other stuff -- but includes a pdf to remind you of what the sample looked like. So I use the adhesive that I use -- which varies for the type of stuff being adhered.

I use Scrapbook Adhesive tape runners. They have the little slivers and squares, no peeling required. I've never had problems during hot/humid summers in the midwest, but that probably doesn't compare to subtropics. Combo Pack

Hands down ATG with the, I think, Tape Depot acid free refills. I get my refills in group buys on my other scrapping message board so I forgot for sure where we get them. I can NOT tolerate the 3M Acid Free refills. They have such a very strong chemical smell that makes me sick. Not only do the off brand ones not have the awful headache inducing smell but is more forgiving when putting down. But, it IS permanent.

I've been using Tombow tape runners for years. I've never had a problem with the tape breaking or jamming which seems to happen with some of the cheaper brands (cough cough Recollections cough). A big plus is that the glue holds well so my older layout pages aren't falling apart. Refills are cheap if you use a coupon at the big box stores.

I switched from Tombow tape runners a couple of years ago after I had a lot of refills amming. I now use the Glue Glider Pro - just be because the size is a bit more manageable than the ATH.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I might look into the ATG and the glue glider pro they just seem so convenient compared to my trusty old tape and scissors

It is 2.85 a roll at Scrapbook pal. Once you use it and see what it does you will be hooked! You can actually rub off any mistake adhesive with your finger and it sets really well.

I use an ATG as well. I was going through runners really quickly and it just got too expensive so I switched. For little things I use my Zig pen.

ATG for me too! I've had it since it originally came out years ago and I LOVE it!

Glue glider pro for me. Easy fit in the hand, refills that snap in and out easily when empty. No little bits of top tape to peal off: all the waste stays in the refill. Glue holds well, but is a bit forgiving early, so you can lift and readjust on most bases. The refills are expensive though, and I feel a bit guilty disposing of all that plastic for such a small roll of tape. But I have tried a lot of glues and this one works for me.

I used to use Tombow tape all the time, and I still like it and still use it for detailed projects. But I really like the ease and speed I have with my ATG gun. I don't have to fiddle with it and figure out which side goes up or down every time I pick it up.
I use Tombow liquid for very detailed work, and a good old Elmers glue stick for anything textured (like burlap ribbon)

I have found the refills even cheaper on Amazon...cheaper than with a coupon.

i never like the atg--too heavy and if my kids borrowed it and accidentally rolled the tape the wrong way--major headache. i like the scrapbook adhesives runners--but i switched about 2 months ago to the xyron runner and REALLY like it. www.amazon.com/Xyron-0701-05-00-Runner-Hundred-Adhesive/dp/B004QM94IMit lasts a pretty long time and refills arent too pricey!

I second both the glue glider pro and the ATG. I have to be honest, trying to find the gg refills are a bit difficult for me....and I still use double sided tape as well for some projects.

When I started scrapping in 2006 I used ad tech runners. I could get 4 for 5$ at Walmart and they had more in each dispenser than other runners. I thought it was a great deal. Then in about 2009 I switched to atg when I found out how much more adhesive comes on a roll and how much cheaper it was and when I discovered the generic rolls it was an even better deal.
As far as performance, two days ago I spent the majority of the day rearranging albums only to discover the pages I did with the ad tech runners all had come loose and even lost pieces to the bottom of the pages. I will have to engage in a large long term project fixing those pages as there are hundreds. The atg pages are all still going strong, even my earliest atg pages.

I am firmly in the "ATG" camp for several reasons. 1. Cost. Cost. Cost. 2. moveability - you can gently wiggle things free most of the time (unlike a liquid glue) 3. stickiness - super sticky, retains it's stickiness - my LOs from 8-9 years ago are still firmly stuck (I was one of the first on the ATG bandwagon!) 4. removability. If you put the adhesive on pp on the wrong side (other people do this sometimes, right? ;P ) you just run your finger over the adhesive and it will roll up/off (kinda like a thin layer of rubber cement).
I sill miss the small tape runners and always have one in my drawer for options. I'm thinking of trying the new Altnew runner (Simon Says Stamp) that Jennifer Mcguire says is like the koyuko one I like so much.

I really dislike my ATG. I use the on-brand refills and they always mess up and stick to the wrong side of the tape. Ugh. So much waste. And I don't like the huge form factor of the gun.
I switched to Kokuyo recently, per Jennifer McGuire's recommendation. Hope it's as good as she says in the long run!

I use ThermoWeb XL runners and the Tombow blue bottle of liquid. Not equipped to use the glider or ATG, have them and they are awful (rather I am awful at using them).
I did just pick up a couple of the Sticky Thumb runners by WRMK at Tuesday Morning. For $1.49 ea I had to try them out and am surprised at how I like them.
