I have not used mine for a few years but it has been sitting nicely on my desk in it's special MM caddy.
I really do like some of the fonts I have so I decided to get it out.
I have put a new blade in, homed it but it still won't cut my cardstock. It doesn't seem to even be touching it, there is no marking whatsoever. I looked up videos on YouTube but still no luck. Considering I had only gone through one blade as I bought a Cricut soon after, this may well be the most expensive scrapbooking tool I have ever bought!
Does anybody have any ideas? I am going to try charging it overnight to see if that makes a difference. It worked perfectly when I was still using it so I am not understanding why it would just stop working. I turned it upside down and all the parts are moving, just not cutting. I am going to get my Cricut out in a minute and see if that still works!

It is the only machine I have fonts for, so it gets used often. Are you using the glass cutting mat? If so, is your piece of paper covering all areas under the slice? Also did you adjust blade depth?

I still have mine but haven't used it in a long time. Just can't bear to get rid of it yet, so it sits in my closet.

I still use mine from time to time. I really wish someone else would come out with something similar because I really love how convenient it is and I'm afraid mine is going to die soon.

On occasion, I will use mine.
Sorry, I do not have any helpful tips for you to get yours to cut.
Could the blade be in too tight, causing it to sit too high in the machine?

dulcemama- check your local Tuesday Morning store. I've often seen Slices and accessories there. Usually on the top shelf.

I still use mine pretty often. Even though I have a Cameo, since I don't have a dedicated computer for it, it's just easier to pull out the Slice a lot of the time.
I don't have much to offer in the way of advice, but in my experience it works better plugged in. Even if I think it's fully charged, it never seems to hold it long. If I remember correctly, I had your problem once and it worked once I used it plugged in.
I'm another one who dreads the day it dies. I have so many design cards and like I said, I do use it. I will cry when that comes. Or suck it up and buy another one on ebay.

I used to have 3 of them within easy driving distance...one in my town, one about a 30 minute drive in one direction and another one a 30 minute drive in another direction. I am bereft.

Aw, that stinks. The hunt is fun! The one nearest me recently doubled in size, so yay!

Thanks for you replies and suggestions.
I adjusted the blade depth, got my husband to hold a torch under and the blade seems to descend at the beginning, touch the paper and then retreat back up. It has been plugged in for a few days now so it should be fully charged. It is so frustrating because it seems to work otherwise.
I may have to go on Ebay and see if I can find a cheap one - even though it takes longer to cut letters and images I still would like to use it.
I got my Cricut out , put a new blade in and thankfully that still seems to work okay!
I'm going to make the effort to use it more, it is so easy to go straight to my Cameo but I do like the Cricut cartridges I bought. And sometimes the images I have bought from the Silhouette store are way too complicated with the layers etc and you don't know until you buy it and try to use it!
