I am going to my first crop in many many years in May and since i scrap fast now, I am wondering how many page kits I will have to make. I make a 2-pager in about 30 minutes...so....scrap from 9:30 am or so until 9:30 pm (staying at home so have an hour drive) back) for 3 days makes.....36 hours....throw in some time for card-making...i think i will need to make about 50 page kits! WOW! that's a lot!

DIY kits are so fun to make! I always feel like once I'm in the groove I can make tons...and you'll need a ton for your crop. Have fun!

Scrap me super impressed!!! That is awesome! Have you ever shared your kit making process and if not, will you please, pease, pretty please with sugar on top, share your process? Ha! Not much of a process. I sort photos into piles (each pile is a page, or a 2-pager). Even if it's a solo photo page, it still gets its own "pile". Then I pick up a pile, decide what cardstock color to use (i tend towards white or kraft but have been known to break into the blues LOL). Then I pick 2-3 matching PP. I do NOT pick alphas--i pretty much only use american crafts alphas, 99% of the time black or white, so I keep those in a 12x12 iris case. I might throw in a few embellies. As I mentioned above, i do mostly paper pages, very minimal embellies. If i am using a kit or partial kit, even easier--just decide what photos go with a kit and sometimes, put in more than one "pile" into a kit storage folder since I can often squeeze 4 pages out of one page kit. I just add extra cardstock. I have an evernote tab of 2-pagers and 1 -pager templates so I can just go in there when I am reading to scrap and find a sketch to use. I am a pretty simple scrapper, so i know this process won't work for everyone. Back in the day when I had a million embellies, it took FOREVER to choose the right ones. I use mostly non-themed embellies now (brads, some simple cardstock things) so it's much easier. Hope that helps!

You will be so productive at your crop!
I make card kits for crafty days/weekends. In fact, I am working on them tonight for our get together tomorrow.

I just went to a weekend crop last weekend and took the time to make page kits. It was the first time I did this. It was great. I didn't have to bring my entire stash with me and traveling light was a welcome relief.

That is super impressive! I have been busy sorting all of my trip memorabilia into those IRIS bins from Michael's. Now when I go somewhere, I can just grab a trip and one of my old SC kits and get going. Hopefully this will help keep me from wasting hours looking for my trip stuff and all of my supplies! Let us know if you post your layouts here when you are finished!!!

That is very impressive. You might just motivate me to do some also this weekend. You know, I just got my 100 Amazon prints in the mail yesterday, and I might have a few hours on Sunday afternoon to do scrappy stuff. I should plan to put some kits together too. Most of my 100 photos are from trips and I already have product set aside for those, but some are just regular scrapping photos.

I think I will copy your process before my Saturday crop in April. I always take too much stuff. Thanks for sharing it.

I know only you guys would be proud of me LOL... Great job!!'ve been doing page kits for the past few weeks for a retreat and now I'm addicted!! Any free time I have, instead of scrapping I'm kitting. I love the feeling of things being used, but not all the time it takes to actually put a page together! I will leave that till I have hours upon hours of uninterrupted time to scrap. Right now I have 54 page kits.... now I know I'm not gonna get all 54 done at my retreat but I figured I might as well keep on going while I'm on a roll. And this way, when life settles down a bit and gets back to somewhat normal, when I just have a little bit of time to scrap I can just grab a kit!

Thanks! Yes, 2 kits to a ziplock. I have 2 different ways of kitting. One is when I'm in a no brainer mood, just putting patterned papers together and cut a parts from different lines. Then later I will go in an add photos, a title, & embellishments.
The other way is starting with the photos and pulling paper, embellishments, making a title, stickers, everything. I put all the sticky stuff on wax paper and just toss it in the kit. This way I have everything I need to complet the page without taking the bulk of my stuff. I call this half scrapbooking. Cause I'm doing have the work thinking of the colors and titles and what I wanna convey with my pages. Then I do the other half at the crop coming up with a page design!

the fact that you have the photos and paper for so many is impressive - for me the hard part is getting the photos I want edited and printed - and many times picking out paper. I have a few photos that I don't have a clue what paper to use. Good luck you are off to a great start for getting ready for your crop.

I just toss whatever I might want to use in a page protector and work with whatever is there.

I crop as needed but no editing on the computer. It's a big timesaver and I enjoy the whole process much more than when I was an editing addict.

I've got 3 kids, and a close nit family that includes nieces, nephews, and now great nieces and nephews. Add that I've been a scrapbooker for 20 years and love photography.... I have enough pictures and paper to last me a lifetime!! And I do the same, no editing, just print them out.

WOW! Great job! I love kitting, almost as much as scrapping. For me it helps tremendously when life gets super busy (like now) and I only have 5-10 here or there. I can just pull a bag/envie out and go. Great job!
