I love the look of a pocket page combined with a second page showcasing one large photo. Often I will print a 12x12 to do this with. This time, however, I am stuck. I have one 8x12 photo (with a lot of intentional open space so I can layer embellishment onto it) and a matching pocket page with 5 4x6 photos. I have chosen several pattern papers to use which coordinate nicely with the photos but I just cannot seem to figure out what to do with them. How do you scrap large photos? Or, share your favorite sketch featuring 8x10 or larger pics.

I love what you've done with your pages Chinagirl828. With photos as stunning as yours you definitely don't want to do much of anything to distract from them.

I have a few in the Gallery, but can't seem to link them with my iPad. Mine are nowhere near as classic looking as Karen's. I do things like slit a corner of the pp to tuck a corner of the photo under, pop up banners or embellies over the large pic, write my journaling in the open space on the photo...
I have always wanted to slice a landscape photo into strips and spread them across the page like pages I have pinned, but I would need a backup photo in case I ruin it all and don't like the look on MY page.

Okay. On my computer now. Here are some of my pages with large photos. In this one, I put a small contrasting photo over top of the large one: winter getaway by Gramma Dee, on Flickr In this one, I tucked the larger photo behind a slit in the pp which had the large western image right on it: rodeo season by Gramma Dee, on Flickr In this one, I tilted the larger photo and framed the focal point with a cb frame: cuba 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Would love to see what you come up with...

this is not really a sketch, (and not my layout) but I have used it many times for a large pic. It is probably a 5x7 but I have used it for 8x10. I've also found that larger pics can often be cropped a little without losing impact.

Thanks for the great ideas everybody. I purposely printed the photo without cropping because I envisioned a huge embellishment cluster in the empty corner but I just cannot make it work. I'm going to try a few other things and if I can't get to where I'm happy with it I will just leave it out on the table for a few days and move bits and pieces around. Sometimes I get unstuck that way.
