i have the hampton arts one but don't...LOVE it. It's okay, but i feel like the plastic lid is too bendy or something--doesn't always stamp evenly.
thanks if you know!!!

I don't know if A Cherry on Top is the least expensive place to preorder it, but they are taking preorders on it. Tim Holtz Stamp PlatformUse the code "preorder" and that makes it a few dollar less.

I just read on another thread in the 2peasrefugees board a short discussion about the patent of the Misti. I didn't realize that.
I am wanting the Tim Holtz Stamp Positioner so hopefully they can find a legal way to sell theirs.

I really hope the TH ones will still be available. Between the quality issues I had with my MISTI and the owner being so horrible I would do without before buying another MISTI.

I don't want to be tied in with a pre-order with the possible issue of a Misti patent drama. I just hit the "notify me" button on Scrapbook.com. They are really good at sending emails when things come in stock.

Well, I e-mailed that facebook company and asked for an approximate ship date (I'm not expecting guarantees, I'd just like to know I won't be waiting 3 months!) and how much shipping to Canada might be (I also am realistic that mailing is expensive, but I don't want a $40 ship charge on a $40 item!). I'll let you know what I hear...if it's reasonable, I'm in!!!

Wow, she got back to me super quickly...shipping to Canada will be around $24.50...which is more than I hoped (I had kinda set my limit at $20 which would still be $28 Cdn)...so now I'm not sure what to do! She expects to ship around april 10, which is great. And she doesn't collect the $$ until she's ready to ship, which is another bonus point for her Thinking...

Well hooray for Tim Holtz! I like his better anyway. The post says he made enough changes that Sweet Petunia has not been able to get to him yet. I am sure if they could have, they would have. But who knows, maybe Tonic Studios has to actually deliver first.

I pre-ordered mine from a Canadian source - One Crazy Stamper. Selling for $52 plus $10 for shipping, unless you're close enough to pick it up. I thought about waiting to see if Michael's would carry it, but I was too impatient, and my Misti is seriously cracking right now as it sits in a drawer in my scrap room! I didn't want to wait any longer than I have to!

I preordered it from Marco's because they had it for 31.99 and free shipping. I really hope it comes in, it looks like the easiest one to be able to use on 8.5x 11 or 12x12 paper.

The tonic stamp platform is delayed once again. The Misti owner has gone after them (not sure if it's a lawsuit, c&d letter, or what) so they are estimated 4 weeks for their lawyers to get them through it and 6 weeks for shipping (if ever). I'm so over the f***ing MISTI right now.
I have a Misti and use it all the time but it has limitations that the tonic platform has fixed.

I don't know how patents work but don't you think the Tonic platform has enough differences as to make it not a copy? The Hampton Arts and Stampaholic are downright copies. But Tonic's has so many other options and it's design is completely different. If misti can copy the idea of a letterpress, why can't Tonic copy that idea also?

I would think so and I hope the courts or whoever decides will think so as well. Tonic is a big company and hopefully has good lawyers. They are a UK company, I believe, so I don't know what kind of impact that would have on this kind of legal action. Right now the Stamp Platform is being sold at one UK retailer.

Is that the woman who was so terribly nasty to people about not talking about her product in certain forums or am I thinking of something else? Yes, and mysweetpetunia joined this forum just so she could threaten someone who made a homemade device. She turned a discussion about her product into a bad PR move. The fun starts here at the bottom of page 1. Her rabid behavior continued, and many resolved never to buy the MISTI after that.

OK, now I remember. I know of a lot of people who refuse to buy her product as a result. I have a stampaholic--is that the one? From India? and I like it so far. I want the larger one now. I hope that Ranger's legal team can get this straightened out. I thought theirs had great improvements on the original and was going to get one when they were on the market. I wonder how much $$ she is actually spending on lawyers to sue everyone. Hmm.

Her lawyer team can't be as big as tonics. Also the WRMK's was put on hold too. To me it's different enough as well. I have the tim holtz on pre order at my lss but have a stampoholic.

I'm just gobsmacked because I don't see how the misti is 'unique.' It's an old design adapted for card making.

Then there is this;
A Special Message from Tonic Studios
Tonic is very excited to launch the new Tim Holtz Stamping platform; however, we need to inform you of a delay in the launch of this product. As you may be aware My Sweet Petunia (MSP) have been granted a patent on their MISTI Stamping Platform.
While we do not consider our Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Stamp Platform to be an infringement of this patent and its claims, we do not want to expose our customers to any legal action from MSP in the event that they sell our product. The ongoing protection and sustainability of the Tonic brand and our products are paramount to our ongoing relationship with all our retail partners.
Our attorneys are working on this case and we expect to have a resolution within the next 4 weeks. We apologize for this inconvenience but we fully expect to be able to ship to you within the next 6 - 8 weeks.
We will be giving updates as we work with all parties to resolve this matter and hope to give you more information soon.
We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.
