I'm finally coming to the end of my stash of pre-American Crafts Bazzill (can you imagine?). I'm going to buy some from A Cherry On Top, but I was wondering...is there a huge quality difference?

I don't know really.. but I buy all my cardstock at Michael's or Hobby Lobby.. I really can't tell a difference. I just like the paper that isn't 'flat', it has that bumpy feel to it..

All my Bazzill is pre-American Crafts too & i wont be running out of it anytime soon. Is there a difference, I've never heard.

Although still using my inventory of (pre-American Crafts-acquired) textured Bazzill, I plan to try My Colors by My Mind's Eye (see http://mycolors.myshopify.com). I was told by a LSS clerk while traveling out of state that the original/former owners of Bazzill left American Crafts & are the creative force behind MME My Colors. She noted similarities in color names (eg Bazzill Atlantic vs My Colors Atlantic Shores) allow scrappers to match the new My Colors with Bazzill colors, while My Colors offers the weight, textures, & color consistency that made Bazzill popular (which she claims AC has subsequently changed). HTH.

PaperAngel is correct. My LSS told me the same thing. Bazzill wasn't happy with how the sale of the business went with AC so they partnered with MME and the My Story cardstock they sell is the Bazzill of old (maybe not as much variety yet, but it's supposed to be identical to the types of paper they used to offer).

Interesting. I may have to try MME. I can't believe it, but I need to buy white 12x12 cardstock.

I actually prefer the AC cardstock because it's not as textured, and cuts more cleanly. Probably less fibrous...which may mean lower quality...but I like it!
I adored the old "WorldWin" cardstock, that had a "linen" feel (textured but not bumpy) and had different colours on the 2 sides. I wish they were still around!

I had an LSS that carried pretty much every color of Bazzill. Back in the day the style was cardstock with some patterned paper added as borders or frames. So of course I stocked up on Bazzill and now have a ton of it in my stash. i do think it's interesting that the company wasn't happy with AC. Hmmm.

I use Bazzill Smoothie cardstock for die cutting and I'm running out of many colors. JoAnn's website still has some Smoothie colors still, but not very many. I like Bazzill Smoothie as it is thicker, but not too thick and it cuts PERFECTLY on the Cricut and Silhouette.

I buy most of my Bazzill at Tuesday Morning. I think it is the older stuff.

They just don't have the DoubleMates any longer. They have brought back some of the colors from the ColorMates that I used when I first started scrapping in 2006. I like their product because it is heavier than most of what is on the market now days. You can order it online at www.thepapermillstore.com.

travelscrapper2How does the WorldWin cardstock cut on the Silhouette? Thanks.

I don't have a Silhouette, but a Pazzles. I think the WorldWin cuts better than Bazzill or Core'dinations. Haven't tried any AC. The Scrapbook Factory in O'Fallon, IL also sells WorldWin by the sheet.

MME's My Color Cardstock is da diggity bomb! I'm a massive fan. And it's acid and lignin-free, not just "photo safe" or acid-free (lignin eventually produces acid when it decomposes).
Double thumbs up from me! (and nothing like the Bazzill cardstock I'd bought and almost immediately got rid of)

travelscrapper2Sorry to bug you again, but when I go to the Paper Mill Store website, and I select WorldWin brand, I only get metallic vellum cardstock. Do I need to look under another option? Thanks.

Sorry to bug you again, but when I go to the Paper Mill Store website, and I select WorldWin brand, I only get metallic vellum cardstock. Do I need to look under another option? Instead of clicking on the brands tab and selecting WorldWin try typing WorldWin or ColorMates in the search tab. They have over 900 WorldWin products. Cascata and CutMates are also made by WorldWin. You can further narrow the results by clicking on the Filter tab. Let me know if you have any other questions.
