Purging my stash... And it feels so good... Getting rid of several "what was I thinking" items.
Of course that also means I have more room to store the things I buy at CKC next month. LOL

I have motivation. The daughter of one of my former Scouts is raising money to go with Scouts to Australia and New Zealand next year. The Scouts great aunt recently passed away and my friend and I were given the task of disposing of the aunt's scrapping supplies. We are selling the aunts scrappy stuff at a community wide yard sale in May. I decided to add to the items for sale.

A lot the things I'm purging were purchased in my early scrapbooking days - before I knew what my style would be. I will go though what I've pulled one more time before the sale and make sure I really want to get rid of each item.

That isn't a good criterion for me -- because I remember that I was thinking "how CUTE" or "It's NEW" or "It's on sale AND CUTE!!!" And when I remember that.... sigh .... I probably still think it is cute ... and MINE!!! I know. I'm pathetic.
And you need to keep in mind that me and my group bought paper under the theory of 2 to use and 1 to keep. Just because I haven't used the first two, doesn't negate the keeping part! LOLOL!!!!

I think decluttering is always a good thing whether it be scrapbooking supplies, clothes or kitchen gadgets.

I'm totally embracing less is more (not even the case of talking myself up, I've literally just gotten to the point where I have too much stuff and am over the upkeep and work of it). I haven't done a lot of shopping (maybe 10% of what I would normally buy) lately and it feels really nice. I need to purge, too...but I'm currently working on other parts of my house...I usually do a huge frantic purge of paper when I need to put some away, but I need to do a more in depth go through of things. If/when it happens, it will come after doing the same for other areas of the house (garage and our master closet) and hopefully being more successful with consignment of the kids' outgrown clothing. Best of luck to you...it is freeing once you're done and realize all the space you've gained!

I didn't really purge stuff for a lot of years but as my taste and style changed I started getting rid of stuff.
In the past I've donated to my son's school or taken it to value village. Last year and a few yrs ago I participated in a scrappy garage sale.
Just went thru my room last weekend and purged a lot of older dated stuff for a scrappy sale in June. Felt great to let go of some stuff I know I won't miss!

Five or so years ago I did a giant purge. I went through every single item. The 'might use it some day' and 'what was I thinking' stuff all went into the donate pile. A lot of it was stuff I'd won or gotten in swag bags at crops or trends I tried but ended up not liking.
As some others said now I found my style, or styles actually, and know what I like it's easier to keep my stash organized and manageable. I even go through paper pads and packages of emphemera and take out the ones I know I won't use.
