(((hugs))) Also without medical conditions, a friend had two failed IVF cycles. The third was successful (& her daughter just turned 15), & she went on to have two more children (a son now 10 & another daughter now 5) without IVF. Please take care of yourself...(((hugs)))

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. The first round is new and feels so hopeful. It's been over 20 years since my first IVF and I remember it more than my successful rounds. Be gentle with yourself!!
My first was unsuccessful, but I went on to have 3 successful rounds that each resulted in healthy boys. 4 months between 1st and 2nd round. 3 years later was round 3 and 5 years later was round 4. I was young though in my 20's and early 30's.
I'll put you on my prayer list that the 2nd round is for you! ((HUGS))

Thinking of you. As others have said just be gentle on yourself. I haven't gone through IVF, but other treatments. I had an oops baby who is 23, my other guy we tried for 5 years with several dr's and meds. I found out then I had PCOS was put on Metformin and the 1st month I got pregnant, and he just turned 10. We tried the same set up again and then moved onto injectables which ultimately didn't work. I thought I was done, and it broke my heart.
Then we decided to be foster parents. My 2nd placement is going to be a keeper! We can officially pursue the adoption in June. I got him when he was 2 months old and he is now 7 months. I love him so very much, I am crying just typing it all out.
Although this last one came not even remotely close to how I planned, I wouldn't change a thing.
For a long, long time I struggled with why couldn't I have a baby, and drug addicts and abusers could. I finally realized it wasn't that I wasn't meant to have a baby, I was meant to have this specific baby. He is my love, my life and my world, he may not have physically come from my body, but he definatley came from my heart.

BFF's first attempt failed. Had 2 embryos left. Went for broke and implanted them both. Her twins are a year old now.

Hugs & prayers! IVF worked for us and our boys are now 17, 14 & 14. When I was going through infertility there were so many women that were successful on a second or third round. Hang in there!

My IVF cycle was cancelled because I only produced one egg. As a "just in case" they gave me IUI with husband's sperm. Apparently the odds were less than 1% that I'd conceive. My 1% is now 21 and has brought me so much joy.
Try to stay positive. Good things happen. xx

Hugs to you. Another person has been there with 3 failed IVF (2fresh, one frozen). All our problems were male factor so we used IUI and donors. We now have two beautiful girls (ages4&6). Life never happens the way you expect and I still get frustrated that we seemed to do everything the hard way. I will be praying for your next attempt to be successful

My daughter didn't succeed first round but she did finally carry a beautiful, healthy in vitro baby to term. Two eggs implanted, one stuck. Three months after he was born, she found herself pregnant again on her own, and with identical twins - 3 in one year. Don't give up the fight!
She had been tested for MTHFR gene defect and needed high doses of folic acid before, during and after, and in addition she needed progesterone shots after insertion, as her progesterone wasn't going up enough. She had a lot of monitoring going on throughout the process.
Don't read the blogs forums and other online stuff. She used to read it and feel so depressed because there was a lot of negativity. I told her that people who succeed aren't writing comments on forums - they are busy with babies. She was much more positive after she stopped reading that stuff.
Best wishes to you!!

I'll say prayers for your next try. Infertility is so frustrating. My kids are 22 and 24 and I remember so well how painful it was trying to get pregnant.

I have a cousin who had at least one failed IVF before getting pregnant with her twins. She then had some more failed attempts but later got pregnant on her own with her youngest. My cousin had a similar situation. The first attempt failed. Then it was their second attempt that led to twins. Then she later also became pregnant unexpectedly with her youngest. She was a similar age to the OP when she was going through all of this as well. Hugs, OP, and best of luck on any future attempt(s). Best of thoughts for you. SaveSave

Our first IVF did not work, positive pregnancy but not viable. Second round (tried three months later)... twins. May I ask what your AMH level is? That was my gleaming hope (41 yo). My AMF was at the top acceptable range, but FSH high (13-19). It's a struggle and I give you strength in your journey.

I don't know many of the details, but I have friends who had several losses before deciding to try donor eggs. L is 4 & his little popsicle brother is about 9 months. Prayers for you!

I'm sending you so much love! Having had a 7 year infertility battle myself, I know how high the highs, and how low the lows can be.
As so many others have said, families come together in many, many different ways. I hope you can find peace in your journey to motherhood and know that in the end, it's worth every minute you have to wonder and wait along the way!

Thank-you to everybody for their prayers, hugs, good wishes, and support. I really appreciated all the replies and the openness to discuss both direct and indirect experiences with IVF and infertility. I will grieve, and will start another IVF cycle at the end of May (most likely). Thanks again for all the kind words.
